Our dog Ollie seemed to be super happy when we picked him up! They made sure to ask for any instructions for our dog and had plenty of space to separate Ollie from another dog they were watching. They let Ollie outside several times which he loves and they were great people to contact they answered right away and were friendly! I would definitely book with them again!

Jason was unbelievably kind, and willing to take on our girl with high anxiety who can be a bit challenging, without hesitation. He is very responsive, and I never had any doubts about trusting him with our girl. We were travelling to the area, but if we’re ever back in Edmonton, I would 100% use Jason again!

Harika is an excellent sitter. I contacted her to dog sit (with drop off in 30 minutes) and she responded promptly and accepted my request. Then later I asked for an hour extension and she accommodated me. I ended up being an extra half hour. During my dog’s stay (5 1/2 hrs) she sent me many pictures, fed and walked my dog. The home is very nice and clean. I would absolutely request services again when I have to be in Edmonton. Thanks again!

About: I have been taking care of pets since i was 15. I moved to Australia in 2017 for my tertiary education where dog sittings and pet onboarding was my job as a student. My parents are dog trainers back home and i have been working with them since i was a kid My husband Narv and i are both working from home and our schedule is pretty flexible which provides us with the best opportunities to be with our pets. We reside at kinglet garden with a 1-minute walk leading to the big community park. We take small, medium and large-sized dogs under as we find they are the best fit for our lifestyle. Our dog, Pumba, a Pomeranian loves to play, nap, cuddle and make new friends. So we decided to become hosts! Our love for dogs makes this a lot of fun. Since we both work from home, we have plenty of free time to walk your pet and spend time playing with them and enjoying their company at home. Since we both have flexible schedule and we work from home, so your pet will have 24/7 care and supervision. Pumba roams the house and is allowed on our furniture, as your dog would be. At night or when we go out, our dog enjoyed sleeping in her bed or crate so there are no problems while unsupervised. Your pup will have free range of the entire first floor; kitchen, sitting room, and TV area! We will treat them like our own with lots of love and attention. You can have a fun and relaxing vacation knowing your pet is well taken care of. You'll receive lots of pics and videos with updates to ease your mind while away. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions and any additional information that we haven't provided. We look forward to meeting you and your pet.

About: I have two dogs, Benny and Leo. Both of them are dog social and friendly. They are both certified wellness dogs and compete in barn hunt trials. Benny knows over 100 tricks (and still learning!) and Leo is also competing in rally obedience trials. We are constantly working towards furthering our training. I use force free and positive reinforcement for training methods. Our days rotate through training, play and rest! I promise a 1:1 training session (topic of choice) and a 30 minute solo walk per day and many many photo updates! I have a fully fenced yard and I take my boys to a private dog park twice a week to run like maniacs. Your dog would be included in all our activities and regular routine! I do require dogs to be crate trained for their stay - both my dogs take an afternoon nap and this allows for me to do the solo walks with each dog. I do expect dogs to be dog social or dog neutral. Safety for all the dogs in my care is my top priority. Our instagram is bennyplusleo if you wanted to see more of how I train and what our days normally look like! I offer day training and boarding from my home. My schedule is made around the needs of the dogs in my care! Dogs will not be left alone for more than 3-4 hours at a time at maximum. Typically we will start the day with some play and then move to 1:1 training sessions for breakfast. Dogs are free to roam my house and can decide to play or lounge. We do a mid day nap for everyone where I will take turns walking the dogs individually. Once all the dog walks are complete the dogs are welcome to free roam the house again to play or relax. I will also use this time to do additional afternoon training sessions! • I try to dog proof my home as much as possible. I have rugs across my main floor to avoid slips. There is nothing out or close to counter edges that your dog can get into. • Dogs are always supervised during playtime, in my backyard or in the basement. I also have motion sensored lights for our potty patch for night time potty. My side yards have additional pens to help prevent dogs from potentially escaping the gates. • All meals are given to each dog separately to ensure that no resource guarding occurs. I have a variety of pens, gates and crates to keep everyone separate when they are being fed.

About: Hello! My name is Alex and I would love to look after your pup! I have two dogs and a cat. Roscoe is 10, Coach is 3 and Jojo my cat is 3. All of them are friendly and we ensure that all animals are safe. I work from home full time so I am able to always be around to monitor your pup! Roscoe is very easy going with a great temperament that gets along with all different breeds of dogs. Coach is a typical lab--loves to run and is high energy. He loves to play with other pups so hopefully your dog is okay with that! We live in a house with a fenced backyard! Plenty of room for your pup to run around :) I have had a dog in my life since I was 15 years old, and I am very versed with all different breeds and temperaments. I believe in providing a warm, loving household that makes a dog feel at ease! I promise to treat your dog with the same love and respect as I treat my own :) I currently work from home, so I am home all of the time. I usually take the dogs out to the backyard multiple times a day, especially if it's gorgeous out, to throw the ball with them or bask in the sun. Jojo, my cat, has a catio, so she's often watching everyone outside, too! I live with my partner and our two dogs and cat. My partner also loves pets so he also is here to administer pets and food! We just love all animals so we will treat your dog the way we treat our own!

About: Animals have always been a part of my life. All of my own pets were adopted. Rescue animals hold a special place in my heart and helped build the foundation of my experience working with animals that have a wide range of temperaments, backgrounds, and needs. I’m often the person friends and family rely on when they need a trustworthy pet sitter, and I currently provide multiple dog walks daily for repeat clients. These households include small, medium, and large breeds, some with multiple dogs in the home. I focus on caring for one pet household at a time, which allows me to give each pet consistent attention and maintain their normal routine. I regularly care for dogs with very different personalities and energy levels—from playful puppies to calm seniors. I also have experience supporting dogs recovering from injuries, caring for pets that require medication, and working with anxious or reactive dogs. Animals tend to respond well to my calm, patient energy. I’m very attentive to body language and behavior, which helps me respond appropriately if a dog is unsure, stressed, or needs reassurance. My goal is always to maintain each pet’s normal routine and provide calm, consistent care so they feel safe and comfortable. I communicate clearly with owners, send regular updates and photos, and treat every pet and home with respect. Reliability is extremely important to me. Before the first booking, I take time to understand each pet’s routine, preferences, and needs so their day, walks, and care stay as normal and predictable as possible. Please request a meet-and-greet before new bookings to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. While dogs are my primary focus, I’m also happy to care for cats and make sure they receive the same attentive and reliable care. I’m available seven days a week for walks and drop-ins, making it easy to fit care around your schedule. My flexibility allows me to respond to your pet’s needs whenever they arise. Safety and trust are extremely important to me. I communicate clearly with owners and treat every pet and home as if it were my own. I always share updates and photos so owners can see their pets are doing well and happy. I focus on caring for one pet household at a time, which allows me to give each pet consistent attention while maintaining their normal routine so they are comfortable. I take the time to understand each pet’s temperament, preferences, special needs, triggers and routine so they feel safe. During walks and visits, I stay attentive to their behavior and the environment, making sure they’re stress-free. In clients’ homes, I follow instructions carefully, respect routines, and maintain a calm atmosphere. Please request a meet and greet prior to booking, to ensure you and your pets are comfortable and it’s a good fit for everyone.

I was so excited to learn about dog sitters through Rover.com. I have been looking for someone to look after my dog for a long time. My dog has a special situation or condition and because of that I feel very limited. I tried to message Kayla and thankfully she was very nice to accomodate Brady. My Brady enjoyed his day with his new friend. Not only did Kayla took good care of him, but my dog also enjoyed the company of her family. My dog felt at home and comfortable with them. I was given updates from time to time and sent pictures of my dog during his stay. My dog was very happy when we came home.

There are 386 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Stony Plain. About 89% of Stony Plain sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Stony Plain commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
