About: I have experience taking care of my own pets and lot of stray around my area. I also used to volunteer at the animal shelter and see how they treated and cared for the animals. I understand how important pets are to their families. I am responsible, patient, and caring, and I enjoy spending time with animals. I can help with feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning up after pets, and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. I’m currently on summer break from college and have a lot of free time. I would love to be around pets and have a good time! I would be very cautious and careful in your homes while you are away. While I take care of your dog with lots of love and playtime!

We had a great experience with Tiffany as our dog walker. She promptly scheduled a meet and greet, patiently answered our questions and concerns, and was very communicative throughout. Tiffany was prompt and provided texts with updates and photos. My dog was in good spirits after his walks with Tiffany. Highly recommend!

About: I’m still young so I have the energy to keep up with the dogs! I would also say I have the right level of authority to keep dogs in control if needed. I love spending time with them and being able to walk them while getting my exercise in. I’m not currently working over winter break so this gig would be a perfect fit for me! I’m looking for good owners and dogs to connect during this time. I have a lot of free time so I have a flexible schedule. As mentioned before, I have the range to provide the exercise the dog needs whether it’s a nice stroll around the neighborhood or a high energy dog that requires mile runs. I am always treating the dogs with the care and love it deserves.

About: Hi, Carson here. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a passion with animals. Since I was a kid, I’ve never had a day without a pet accompany in my life. Over the past 30 years, I had 4 dogs and 3 cats, and currently with my wife Casey we have 2 cats. All of our fur babies were either strays or coming from shelters. We always wanted to do more for the animals and with years of experience in taking care of animals with all ages we think this is a good place for us to take the first step of our calling. I am a business consultant who works from home so my schedule is very flexible and can accommodate your schedule during the weekdays as wells as weekends. As fur parents, we understand how anxious and uneasy it can be when you have to travel away from your fur babies. We assure you that we would treat your pets like our own and take good care of them so you can have a peace of mind and enjoy your time away worry free.

About: I’ve spent the last 16 years sharing my life with dogs, and I understand that every pet is a family member. My journey started in 2010 with my first rescue, Cheeto, who was with me for nearly 16 wonderful years. That journey taught me the patience, love, and specialized care required for every stage of a dog's life—from the zoomies of youth to the gentle needs of the golden years. I currently work from home full time, and have plenty of breaks to play with your pup and supervise backyard time. I can also take them on a walk in the morning and/or early evening. I have a fenced backyard and two friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. I can easily crate your dog if needed, and plenty of beds and couch space for nap time.

Bella met my senior dog, Denver, and he already loves her! From the moment they met, she was patient, kind, and attentive to his needs. As an older dog, Denver can be a little particular, but Bella made him feel comfortable right away. I also love the updates and pictures she sends during their walks. They give me peace of mind and make me feel comfortable knowing Denver is happy and well cared for while I'm at work. It means so much to have someone I can trust with my senior dog. I highly recommend Bella to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and compassionate dog walker.

Ms. Xu has been an incredible Rover walker for my senior dog. Caring for an older dog isn’t easy—especially with frequent accidents—but she handles everything with patience and compassion. She goes above and beyond by helping clean up and making sure my dog is comfortable. I also really appreciate her thoughtful updates. I highly recommend Alex as a dog walker! He did a great job walking my dog. He's detail-oriented and does training with her during the walk, so she's not tempted to bark at squirrels and bikes (which she sometimes barks at). He also pays attention to make sure she doesn't eat anything off of the ground. He even runs with the dog sometimes, to get her energy out.

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
