Annamay did an excellent job with a 30-minute walk for the dogs I’m currently caring for. From the beginning, she was punctual, professional, and easy to communicate with, which immediately put me at ease. During the walk, she handled both dogs with confidence and care, making sure they were comfortable, safe, and well-managed the entire time. She clearly understands dog behavior and knows how to keep them engaged while still maintaining control. The walk itself was well-paced and intentional—not rushed, but also efficient in giving them the exercise they needed. One of the things I appreciated most was her attention to detail. She provided updates and photos, which gave great visibility into how the walk was going and showed that the dogs were happy and enjoying themselves. When they returned, they were relaxed, content, and nicely exercised—exactly what you want from a quality walk. It’s clear Annamay takes pride in what she does and genuinely cares about the dogs she works with.

About: Hello :) my name is Vanessa I'm 25 years old, currently a Behavioral Interventionalist (BI) in ABA therapy while also studying to get my real estate license. I LOVE all animals, I have voluteered at the North Central animal shelter for 3 years so I have plenty of experience with any and all pets. I want nothing but to provide the best care for your baby and to be able to give you a peace of mind. You will be able to enjoy whichever endeavors you have knowing that your pet is in great hands. I have love, compassion, and care for all animals through sickness or health I am there to help in any way I can. I can promise your pet will get the exact amount of exercise and affection/love that they need ❤️ Working part time and studying online has given me the time and space I need to properly care for your pet, I'm able to study whenever wherever and I only work after school hours during the week with weekends off. I also have a Husky German Shepard mix that likes to keep me busy and makes sure that playtime and staying active are always in my daily routine. I will care for your pet as if they were my own, with nothing but patience, love, and nurturing. Everyone cares for their best friend in their own way and I can easily pick up where you leave off and do exactly as told. As far as caring for my own, they are my number one priority always and when I need to petsit, babysit, or travel anywhere they has a very loving grandma and grandpa that love to have him over any chance they get.

About: I’ve always had dogs growing up. Recently just lost my senior pug who had diabetes and several health issues. I have no problem administering and keeping track of medications/glucose and feeding schedules. I have a small fenced in yard for bathroom breaks, as well as a flexible lifestyle that allows me to walk dogs twice a day every day. I am a part time dance teacher so I only work in the evenings for 5 hours max. I love being active but am always home every night at a reasonable hour. I lost my dog in February so I am free to take care of dogs who aren’t so friendly with others or who need extra attention. I have a fenced in yard for bathroom breaks and am young and able to take long walks in my neighborhood. We have a gated den area for pups to hang out in during the day with windows and toys.

About: I’m a big animal lover! I’ve cared for both dogs and cats since I was 10, have dog/cat sat for families, friends and neighbors for over 15 years. I have a very flexible schedule and am always willing to work on your time and make sure your pets are safe, comfortable and taken care of! I'm currently working a remote part-time job and am available any time of the day to walk and care for your dogs. My schedule is very flexible, I'm available early mornings and afternoons as well for those needing to work late. From my own experience with my dog, I know how to crate train a dog. I ensure all possible exits leading outside of the home are closed and locked. Depending on the dogs diet, I'll provide the right amount of food and offer rewards for good behavior with treats (if allowed by the owner). Overall, I make sure the dog feels safe around me and try my best to build a trustworthy relationship.

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I grew up with a Labrador from the time I was born until I was around 10 years old, and since then I have had two other dogs, including a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix and a Border Collie mix. Because of this, I have experience with different sizes, breeds, and energy levels, from large dogs that need strong handling to active dogs that need plenty of attention and playtime. I have also dog sat for family and friends before, so I understand how important it is to make sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owner is away. I will always check in frequently with updates, make sure your dog is fed on schedule, take time to play with them, and give them the attention they need. My schedule is very flexible. I am home for the summer from UCSD and currently shadowing a doctor, but I am able to work my schedule around what is best for dog or cat sitting. I am available on both weekdays and weekends, and I can usually make most times work. I will always communicate clearly if I have something planned on a certain day, and I will make sure we figure out a schedule that works best for you and your pet. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority. I will make sure they are cared for, supervised, and given plenty of attention while you are away. I am comfortable playing with pets, throwing tennis balls or toys, taking dogs on walks, letting them outside, and watching them closely while they are out. I will always follow your instructions for feeding, routines, walks, playtime, and any specific needs your pet may have. I understand how important it is to keep pets on their normal schedule, so I will make sure they are fed on time and cared for in a safe, responsible, and loving environment.

Ally is AMAZING and we are so happy to have found her. She did such a great job taking care of our 65 lb, 3 year old super energetic dog Simba. I was nervous to leave him for the first time after moving but Ally made it easy to relax and not worry. She sent regular and proactive updates and detailed notes on each walk and lots of photos! We appreciated that so much. Ally is clearly someone all animals love instantly and we will definitely book with her again.

Aviana arrived right on time and was very communicative throughout the entire process. This was my first time using the service, and it was extremely last minute, but she was still able to accommodate me and kept me updated in a timely manner, which I really appreciated. My dog was very excited to meet her and clearly enjoyed his 60-minute walk—he came back happy and tired, which says it all! I would definitely recommend Aviana and will absolutely be using her services again.

Selena did a wonderful job walking Zeus. Even though he’s a sweet boy, he can be a lot around people at first but he immediately liked Selena. He can also be reactive to other dogs, but she managed him calmly and confidently. It was their first time together, and she handled him with ease. She’s also very communicative and detail oriented, so I wasn’t worried about him eating something bad on the walk or getting loose.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
