About: I'm very passionate about taking care of dogs. As your sitter, I'd work to make sure that your dog is not only cared for, but enriched and happy. As of two years ago, my elderly french bulldog, Jeff, started to experience incontinence. Since then, I've played a key role in managing his diaper changes, cleaning up his incontinence, and making sure that his medication is administered at the right time, in the right way. Taking care of Jeff has prepared me for a variety of pet care tasks, which has helped me develop my intuition for other pets's needs as well! While my skillset mainly involves senior dog care, I'm great with middle aged pups and puppies as well. If theres a long, rigorous care list, I'm here for it! I'm currently a part-time student, attending class three days a week. My class schedule runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. I would be able to provide services on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays for the time being. Once my semester ends, I’m flexible for more hours. My elderly french bulldog lives at home with me. We have a large, spacious environment, and he is very friendly. About: I have decades of experience around cats and dogs - in the home and with extended family pets, and then started pet care for others as a teen. Through my teens and 20s I consistently dog sat, did scheduled walks out of others’ homes, or cat play/feed visits. I’ve loved each and every pet: from Great Dane siblings to cats that rule the house and play it cool. I grew up with cats and have long term cared for a Vizsla dog beloved to me, as my own. I have experience with animals that do not get along with other animals, or take a while to get used to humans (I’ve always had an affinity for these guys and allowed them the space and time to grow comfortable with me). I live in Portland, OR but am from the Hudson Valley and back in the area to be closer to my father who is on hospice with a terminal illness. Peace of mind! Jordan stayed with our two senior dogs for 5 days. Her kindness, care and communication are the only reasons we could have left them. Both dogs have medical issues, and Jordan was very attentive and tuned in to what they need. She kept in touch about how they were doing and shared photos of them enjoying their time with her. One of our dogs hasn't been eating well, and she sent details about what and how much he ate each day. The other one is going through some medical tests, so if she noticed anything off, she reached out right away. She administered medication and goodnight cuddles (we got videos!). We hope she will care for our dogs next time we need a sitter!
Emily was super excited to stay with my pups even with their quirks and was able to book within a week of my vacation and meet them when I had a last minute cancelation with someone else! She was very responsive both before and during my trip and kept me updated about my dogs with pictures which was super appreciated! She was also able to give medication to one of them as needed and follow the food directions as well as made time to sit with one of them who will only eat with company.
