About: Hello! My name is Shannon and I have spent nearly my entire life caring for animals and would love to care for yours. While earning my degree as a Wildlife Biologist, I was a professional dog walker and pet sitter for a host of repeat clients for years in MN. Moving to NYC, I pounded the pavement with furry friends while also working as an Ornithologist at the American Museum of Natural History. I have worked at myriad veterinary clinics as a Vet Tech with domestic as well as exotic pets. I can safely administer medication from the largest Mastiff to the most delicate of Budgies. I have been cornered by an Andean Condor and lived to tell while a Zookeeper at the Bronx Zoo, where animal care expertise was of paramount importance. Training and enrichment exercises are competitive assets I am able to offer to support your critter's happy, healthy home life. Running a small petting zoo has familiarized me with the barnyard friends as well. In addition to my extensive professional experience, I am committed to animal welfare advocacy via fostering, fundraising and volunteerism. While studying monkeys in Belize, I co-founded a local Humane Society chapter to assuage conflict between residents and feral dog populations. Our Boston Terrier, Hooligan, and I are avid hikers and love explore all the terrain the Hudson Valley has to offer. We would enjoy bringing your hiking buddy along with us! I look forward to making your young, old, furry, feathered or scaly friends tired and happy - showered with affection and fun!

“Jordan is the BEST! Our 'discerning' dog was immediately at ease with her gentle and calm energy and clearly misses her after she stayed with him in our home for a week. Already re-booked her!”

About: I have a long history of pets of all kinds, cats, dogs, snakes, you name it. And well known for pet training skills. I've trained cats to go on unleashed walks, I've trained cats to cohabitate with free-roam rodents, I've trained rats and cats, and dogs to come when called. Dog training includes basic sit, stay, roll over, come etc. I'm a smaller person, so having control over larger dogs is really important. I've had dogs of all breads or have sat or co-parented many dogs of different breeds. I've managed food medications for dogs and cats, and injectables for reptiles (not that they're on here). Dogs, and pets, in general love me, and I am so pleased to have a home in which I can host and support fellow pet owners in their pet sitting needs. I work from home and have a big yard, and a fenced in back patio and am near trails for hikes. I have a 3 bedroom, plus den, large 2-story home and pets will be integrated into my life here at my home. I tend to have a very open and inviting approach where pets are welcomed to sleep in my bed should that align with their emotional needs and preferences with the pet parents. I only offer boarding. My house is well-maintained and animals will be kept safe. I do have a 5 year old cat, and I am experienced with introducing different animals to one another, and have AMPLE space, should a slow introduction be needed.

About: I have had cats and dogs my whole life. I have watched all kind of pets for friends, family, and clients. Even a few lizards and hamsters! All ages are welcome from seniors (medicine included) to littles. I work full time and my husband (my pet loving partner) is home in the AM hours. We are a team of pet care. I am available to do walks in the mornings and evenings. If you pet needs a mid-day check in, my husband would LOVE to spoil your pet with attention. My home is pet friendly. We don't have a gated yard, but we love to walk and are active hikers too. In your home, I am respectful of your house and will follow any instructions you have.

He loved Shannon so much and would always sleep on her lap. Lotus is a 35 pound corgi/hound mix. He loves to run around with Shannon’s own pup. Shannon has taken care of her own dogs her whole life, successfully managed many behavioral issues, and walked and loved all kinds of dogs. She is absolutely responsible, trustworthy, and a huge animal lover. I would leave my pups in her care anytime without hesitation. I often ask her advice on all things dog related. Bonus – she has had a long career working with animals, including as an experienced, highly skilled vet tech! Sent from my phone”

19. Krystal S.
“Krystal prioritizes the animals in her life more than anyone I know. I have no doubt that she’ll follow any instructions you share for how best to care for your cat or dog while staying at her home. As a bird watcher and animal rescuer in her spare time, she has a good eye for when our pets are trying to get our attention. Her home is warm and spacious with a fenced-in yard on a quiet street.”

20. Theresa & Michael G.
“I've known Theresa for many years and I can tell you she is absolutely wonderful with both dogs and cats. She always went above and beyond when caring for my dogs Coco and CJ.
