Safety, trust & environment

I can't take pets at my home, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to care for your pet at yours. I do a quick "get to know you" session before agreeing to a new client, so that I can meet you and your animal, get acquainted with your home, ask important questions about your and your pet's needs, and make sure that I understand exactly how to give your pet the highest level of care!

Information Jonathan C. would like to know about your pet

I will only take on new clients after a short "meet and greet." I'll want to know the following information about your pet: - What's your pet's daily routine? (Food, medicine, walks, etc.) - What does "normal" behavior look like for them? (Are they very energetic, more sedate, etc?) - Any allergies or foods/substances to avoid. (I ONLY give your animal what you want them to have.) - Any past traumas your pet has experienced? - What activities does your pet enjoy? - What activities should we avoid? - How does your pet liked to be touched, pet, handled, etc.? (And what ways does your pet NOT like to be touched?) - Any noises/experiences/settings that will trigger your pet? - What types of people/dogs must your dog avoid while out on walks? - Anything else I should know?

A typical day

I take the time to get to know each animal I'm hanging out with: Does your dog love the park or have a favorite route around the neighborhood? Let's do it. Fenced-in backyard? I'll toss your dog their favorite ball or frisbee. Got a chill senior dog? We can sit around together, I'll give them some pets or cuddles or just be a soothing presence! With cats, same deal: I'm cool to just chill. (I love winning over a new cat, whatever that entails.) If your cat likes to chase things, I'm happy to use whatever animates them to give them the enrichment time they need!

Teacher and pet-care professional

Pet care experience

I'm Jonathan (though I mainly go by Jack): Substitute teacher by day (so no daytime walks on school days), pet-care professional any other time! For about a decade, I've been providing top-quality pet care in the New York City and Hudson Valley areas. I'm a thoughtful, sensitive, nurturing person. I take my responsibility to care for your animal very seriously and will do whatever it takes to help them (and you!) feel safe and happy. I put in the time to get to know your pet's unique needs. Older dogs and ones with special emotional needs have become a specialty of mine. I know there are a lot of pet-care professionals on this app. Please check out my reviews and see what others have to say about me. You can trust me to be there for your beloved pet when you can't!

Jonathan made a drop in visit to give Hudson a meal and some time outside. I received pictures and confirmation that Hudson was doing great!
