“This review is long over due! But I had to be sure and leave one. Stefany was fantastic with Trystan. She had great communication with me, even though I was on the other side of the world she would maintain contact regardless of the time. Trystan can look overwhelming but she was able to see past his size and see his heart. He was very comfortable with her and her dog. It was an extended period of time to spend babysitting. But I have nothing but raving reviews for Stefany. Thank you for taking care of Trystan as if he was your own. He loved the long walks and company.”

“Ally was amazing! Let us see the space, verified all instructions, gave our pup his anxiety meds. He took to her right away and she was extremely accommodating. If we are back in St Louis we will definitely book with her again!”

“Megen took great care of our dog Lotta. She has a fenced in backyard which was great so our dog was outside a lot and played with the other dogs there. Easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!”

“Francesca and John were wonderful! Buddy did very well during his stay. This was his first time ever boarding and I was nervous about how he would do since he is an older dog. They kept me updated all the time and assured me he was relaxed and not anxious. So glad we found them!”

“My sweet pups had the best time with Alexis!! She took great care of them and they told me that they played and played with her and her family. That's the best recommendation of all!”

“Matthew and his family are excellent dog caregivers! They have a very large fenced yard for the dogs to play. They are very attentive and sent many photos! I have an older newly adopted dog, they were so sweet and gentle with her. I highly recommend them!!!”

“I can not say enough good things about Chloe!! This was our first time leaving Pinta since we adopted her, and I was anxious to say the least. Chloe made me feel completely at ease about leaving her. She was great with communicating how Pinta was doing and sent a lot of pictures of our girl having a blast. So thankful to have found a place that I'll feel comfortable leaving our Pinta girl!”

“Nya was so sweet while watching my dog. I wasn't sure where her building was and she ran to where I was so that I would not be late to church. She took care of Nikki and said that he was such a good dog. I will definitely use her again and she is sweet as pie and you can tell that she loves taking care of dogs. Thank you Nya”

“Jadyn does it again🫶🏽! Our #1 sitter to contact whenever we need a loving, caring, knowledgeable place for our fur baby Beau. Thank you Jadyn for being such a wonderful, accessible, loving, and understanding person. To see Beau, get so excited from the time we turn onto your block, shows the Love he has for you. Our family appreciates you and your time.♥️”

“Natasha and Hamir took wonderful care of our beagle mix. They sent updates and photos daily. He was very comfortable with them which made our trip more enjoyable to know he was in such great care.”

“Jonathan was a pleasure to have watch our pup, Mochi. We had a last minute need for doggy care over the Fourth of July and Jonathan was willing to welcome Mochi into his family for the whole weekend, and help him feel at home. Mochi loved playing in the big yard and hanging out with Jonathan’s kids. We will definitely rebook with Jonathan the next time we are in town.”

“Meghan took wonderful care of our dog, Josie, overnight. She was a great communicator and even sent us pictures so that we could see that Josie was happy and relaxed. Megahn has a nice fenced in yard but also took Josie on long walks. We highly recommend her!”
“Beckie and her family were the perfect home away from home for our high-energy 2yo German Shepherd. She has a beautiful and massive back yard and provided photo updates throughout the stay. We’ll happily trust Beckie with Echo on future trips and highly recommend her!”

“Absolute peace of mind through the entire experience. This was only the third time with a sitter and second boarding my Whiskey dog overnight; but never have I felt as content as when he was with Judy, her wonderful family & beautiful home. Was able to completely enjoy my vacation knowing he was cared for as one of her own. I really can’t thank her enough for what that contentment was worth to me. To top it off she’s so nice!! Had pushed the date forward a day at the last minute, she was totally understanding and went with the flow. Just thank you!!!! I know Whiskey dog misses his new friends already =^_^=”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Beacon
Paige provided the perfect spot for our pup to stay even though we asked her last minute to watch him. With a few days to go before our wedding and honeymoon, our boarder cancelled on us and we were scrambling to find someone to watch him. She happily agreed and was very accommodating and flexible through the whole booking. We got lots of pictures and updates her — mostly of our pup and hers having the time of their lives. She handled our high energy pup with ease and we felt comfortable knowing he was having a great stay. I would definitely recommend and have Paige watch our dog again in the future.

Our Bruno had a wonderful time the week he spent with Elizabeth and Joe. He came home happy and relaxed. He’s 8 years old and does not like other dogs, so we really appreciated the attention they gave him and the frequent photo updates. Definitely will want to have him stay here again.
We are always so grateful and appreciative knowing that our dear golden retriever is SO loved in your home and is surrounded by entertainment with their sweet dog Matilda. There’s honestly no other dog we’ve seen our dog play with more than with Matilda. Truly can’t recommend Belen enough as a loving caretaker. Thanks as always for taking such good care of Lily, Belen!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
