About: Hello, My name is Candice. I am a fur Momma to two Dogs. Princess Lola is a 7 year old Chocolate Labrador who is my gentle giant. She enjoys long walks with her dog friends and playing with her human brothers and sisters. Scrappy is a 14 year old Westie/ Bischon Frise mix who enjoys snuggles from his family and his bed. He is blind but navigates and acts like he can see. I did have a third fur baby that crossed the rainbow bridge last year as he lost his fight with cancer. My Brodie was a 13 year old Long Haired Chihuahua/ Papillon mix and in his younger years enjoyed playing nose soccer with his family. In his senior life he enjoyed snuggling up with his brother Scrappy most. My husband Craig and I are raising our 4 children ages 4-11. They have lived their entire lives with dogs. We are a family of dog lovers and cant wait to meet your fur babies. I have experience in caring for dogs ages ranging from puppy to senior. I also have experience administering oral medication. I have been a stay at home mother and homemaker for the past 11 years which allows me to have a very flexible schedule to care for your dog. I offer a variety of services. Outdoor dog walking from little to no incline for older dogs or dogs with walking difficulties to uphill or hiking for more active and energetic dogs. I can provide care in my home with my family or care in your home for play time, feedings, or to give medicine.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we first spoke, it was clear that Joy genuinely loves animals and takes her responsibility seriously. She treated Bowie like a member of her own family, making sure he was not only well cared for but also happy, comfortable, and loved while we were away. Communication was outstanding throughout our trip. We received regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us complete peace of mind. It was obvious that Bowie was getting plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. When we returned, Bowie was relaxed, healthy, and clearly had an amazing time. It’s such a relief to know we have someone we can trust completely with him. Joy’s professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail exceeded every expectation. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and exceptional dog sitter. We will absolutely be booking with her again, and we know Bowie can’t wait for the next visit!”

“My dog’s stay was wonderful! Debbie’s home is set up like a little doggy daycare, and it’s absolutely precious. She sent daily photos, and it was clear my dog was receiving excellent care and having a great time. I was so grateful to be able to enjoy my vacation knowing my furry daughter was happy, safe, and comfortable. Thank you, Debbie, for taking such wonderful care of her! I will definitely be booking with you again.”

“Olga and her family were excellent hosts for my little Meisha. I could tell she had a fabulous stay, and they made sure she was comfortable and happy. Will definitely try to book with them in the future.”

“Odie had a wonderful stay with Maryline and her family. It was evident that he was treated as part of the family. Maryline was easy to contact and shared amazing photos of Odie's visit. She made our holiday travel stress free knowing Odie was in good hands.”

“Pam is so communicative and always shares photos of the pet :) she took such a good care of Tofu that Tofu cried and didn’t want to leave when we had to pick him up 🤭 thank you so much, Pam!”

“Stephanie is amazing! She cared for our pup on short notice, sent update texts and kept him an extra night due to weather complications. Very accommodating and reliable, thank you!”

About: I've been caring for dogs since middle school, including over 12 years of hands-on experience caring for my own dog, Aubrey. I've also had family, friends, and neighbors rely on me to walk, feed, groom, and care for their pets. Over the years, I've gained experience with dogs of many sizes, breeds, and personalities, including Golden Retrievers, mixed breeds, Yorkshire Terriers, hounds, Chihuahuas, and Corgis. I especially enjoy caring for senior pets and making sure they receive the patience, attention, and affection they deserve. I like spending quality time with them, grooming them, observing their behavior and how they're doing, and making sure they're comfortable and cared for. I've also expanded my experience through volunteer work with Rockland Orange Furrever Homes and the Hudson Valley SPCA, where I've worked with shelter animals and gained additional experience observing animal behavior and providing hands-on care. Whether your pet needs a good walk, a meal, some grooming, companionship, or simply someone who will give them plenty of love and attention, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I currently have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I enjoy making time for walks, play, grooming, companionship, and simply getting to know each pet's personality and routine. I'm able to be flexible with my availability and want every pet in my care to feel comfortable, safe, and loved. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and following their normal routine as closely as possible. I make sure doors, gates, and other exits are secure, provide fresh water and meals according to the owner's instructions, and give pets plenty of attention and exercise. I also pay close attention to their behavior and overall condition so I can recognize anything unusual and communicate concerns to their owner. During walks, I use safe handling practices and stay aware of the pet's surroundings, other animals, and potential hazards. I want every pet to feel comfortable and cared for while their owner is away.
“Jessica and her family took great care of our large breed dog while we were away. She sent lots of updates and we could tell she was very well cared for while in their care. We will definitely use them again.”

“My dog didn’t want to come home after staying with Crystal and has pouted since I brought him home. He clearly had a blast. I read the positive reviews when booking, and I’m glad I listened to everyone. Highlights- great communication, loved my dog as her own, gave me complete peace of mind while I traveled. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to trust to watch my best friend.”

“Lucienne was such an amazing help with my one year old cat. My cat, Juno, stayed with Lucienne for almost a month and I got many updates, photos, and videos which eased my anxiety when I was away. Lucienne was very easy to reach whenever I had questions or concerns which was amazing and she always responded quickly. I’m sure Juno will miss her. I definitely recommend Lucienne!”

“So happy to have found Annette. She is such sweet, animal loving person. Our little Pomchi, Keiki, had a fun time with her and her dogs. Thanks so much Annette. Will definitely come again! ❤️”

“Lily took wonderful care of my dog Pippa! It was my first time working with her and I will definitely use her again. Pippa is a very playful dog and Lily kept her entertained and engaged the whole time. I think Pippa was very bummed to come back home and leave her new friends. Thanks Lily!!”

“Rocco and I had a pre event meet and greet with Nicole which went great. Nicole has a wonderful fenced back yard which is set up for her dogs and guests. Rocco was immediately comfortable and explored the yard with Nicole’s other dogs. Nicole herself is very knowledgeable about dogs and sensitive to their needs. I dropped Rocco off for an unexpected stay and received updates from Nicole twice a day. Apparently Nicole’s home is over night camp for dogs. Rocco came back happy but tired. (Not unlike my kids when they were young). I would recommend Nicole without hesitation.”

“Donna is absolutely great, very nice, accommodating and very punctual. She sent many pictures with our dog, who seemed very happy and well taken care of. We are very pleased to have met her and shall definitely contact her again for future bookings. Thank you, Donna!”

“Leah was a fabulous pet sitter for our two dogs, Charli and Penny. We took a two week, international trip and this was our first time leaving both dogs for this long and our first time hiring a sitter on Rover. Leaving the dogs was a stressful process for us, but Leah made it so much easier and gave us such confidence and peace of mind. Leah was communicative, kind and accommodating. She sent us photos and videos daily and kept us up-to-date on how the dogs were settling in. Both of our dogs have separation anxiety, but we could tell they were doing great. We could not recommend her enough. Thank you Leah!”

Alexis was wonderful! This was my first time having Cooper boarded at someone’s house and she made him so welcomed and like one of her family. She sent photos and videos of him daily, he seemed to be having a great time each day. 100% will be using Alexis again and would recommend!

Bobby, his wife, and Luna were so great to our 2 dogs during their stay. I am so impressed with their professionalism, compassion towards our dogs, and willingness to make our pups as comfortable as possible during their time away from home. Bobby took plenty of photos and videos of our dogs and it truly made us feel great about leaving our dogs behind with Bobby and his family. Will definitely be booking again the next time we need our pups to stay somewhere. I cannot recommend Bobby enough!

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
