“Brittany was wonderful with Cody. He is not used to be separated from us so we knew that he would be a challenge. I am happy with the treatment that Cody received and if the occasion occurs we will book with Brittany again.”

“Phalisity was a great sitter for my dog Prince. She was ready to receive him on time. She sent pictures of him which reassured me that he was well taken care of and comfortable. She had him prepared for pick up in a timely manner. I will definitely reach out to Rover again to request Phalisity’s service. I am grateful of your service. Mrs. Harris”

About: Hello! I have 24 years of experience living with and taking care of dogs. I have volunteered to help dogs throughout my adulthood, including walking dogs and working at the local shelter. I also have experience with managing aggressive dogs (towards people and other animals), although please note I have a dog so your pup needs to be pet-friendly to stay at our home. I work from home Monday through Wednesday and my pup Ralphie would love to have a playmate and/or nap partner during the day! We are also available for overnights Sunday/Monday/Tuesday. My pup gets a walk before work, during lunch, and after work, and goes out into our fenced yard to hang multiple times per day. Tara is wonderful! We left Teddy with her for 2 weeks! Tara took good care of Teddy and made him feel so comfortable and loved that he was himself in no time at all and running her household (as Yorkshire Terriers often do)! Tara went above and beyond in making sure he ate and was happy! Tara kept us informed every day making us also feel comfortable. Totally recommend Tara to take care of your pet! Thank you Tara!!!

Awesome job was very attentive to my pets needs. Was conscious of the heat that week and kept his paws off the pavement. Even treated a small wound to the paw and my fur son was recovered before I picked him up. David kept me abreast all the way through the sitting period.

Our Bruno had a wonderful time the week he spent with Elizabeth and Joe. He came home happy and relaxed. He’s 8 years old and does not like other dogs, so we really appreciated the attention they gave him and the frequent photo updates. Definitely will want to have him stay here again.
We are always so grateful and appreciative knowing that our dear golden retriever is SO loved in your home and is surrounded by entertainment with their sweet dog Matilda. There’s honestly no other dog we’ve seen our dog play with more than with Matilda. Truly can’t recommend Belen enough as a loving caretaker. Thanks as always for taking such good care of Lily, Belen!

Theresa and Michael are wonderful cat sitters, true pet lovers who took care of Mr Soots for me in every way possible. From cuddles and love to pictures of Soots playing and being his cheeky self, I could see that my cat felt so at home and comfortable with Theresa and Michael right from day one. I would recommend their cat sitting services to anyone. Fantastic people and wonderful hosts for pets.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
