“Nayeli is an amazing choice for watching your pooch. When you travel, the last thing you want is to worry about your dog while away. So glad we found Nayeli! Our yellow lab will be spending a lot of time with her, as we travel quite a bit.”

“Gretchen took excellent care of my dog while I was away. He seemed very happy during his stay. I also received daily photos and updates about how he was doing. I'll definitely use Gretchen's services again.”

“Stephanie took amazing care of my two older pups. Her home was welcoming, and her pets had a blast with their new playmates while we were out of town, Stephanie provided consistent updates and photos, we were able to relax and enjoy our getaway knowing they were in good hands. I will definitely be returning!”

“Chaqutia looked after my pup, Ralph, for just over a week. I was nervous about leaving him for such a long period of time especially as he was unwell. Chaqutia put my mind at ease instantly and sent updates multiple times throughout the day of both photos and videos as well as a report of how he did with his food and confirming he took his meds. Any questions I had or suggestions I made, she responded to promptly. She’s a very kind and caring person and also very responsible with things like a camera set up in the room dogs sleep in to check on throughout the night. She was flexible with both pick up and drop off times and really listened to our needs Her home is beautiful, large and on a very quiet secluded road which was reassuring as less traffic. Her family are truly lovely and her eldest child played with Ralph lots (particularly loved those videos) Would definitely use Chaqutia again and recommend her to others!”

“Leah was a fabulous pet sitter for our two dogs, Charli and Penny. We took a two week, international trip and this was our first time leaving both dogs for this long and our first time hiring a sitter on Rover. Leaving the dogs was a stressful process for us, but Leah made it so much easier and gave us such confidence and peace of mind. Leah was communicative, kind and accommodating. She sent us photos and videos daily and kept us up-to-date on how the dogs were settling in. Both of our dogs have separation anxiety, but we could tell they were doing great. We could not recommend her enough. Thank you Leah!”

“Cristian went above and beyond to make sure i felt 100% comfortable while i was boarding my pit mix Nala for 11 days for the first time. Nala even sadly got a pretty severe UTI during her stay and Cristian was so on top of it with photos, concern, and ended up even taking her to the vet for me and getting the care she needed. Even with a 6hr time change he managed to keep up with great communication and updates throughout the stay. I truly couldn’t be happier with my experience. He will definitely be my top choice in the future - no question. Thank you endlessly Cristian!”

About: I've taken care of animals for what feels like my entire life. I have raised two gorgeous dachshunds and have two crazy hot dogs currently. Love both cats and dogs, and I enjoy taking the dogs for walks. I have taken care of both puppies and seniors, and both need lots of care. I take care of my friends pets when they are away, and groom my own dogs. I work full-time and am generally able to do walks or visits anytime on the weekends. I cannot block out specific times on this site, and leave things mostly as available, HOWEVER, I am free after 4pm on Monday’s and Tuesday’s. Wednesday thru Friday I am only free before 10:30am or after 7:30pm. So please keep that in mind when requesting services. Friends have either lent me keys or smart access to go in and care for their pets and plants. I will usually go in, play, walk and feed (or just walk and play depending on needs). I have taken care of their pets overnight while they're away and have stayed at their homes for extended vacations, if need be. My pets are friendly, playful and curious. They do well with both senior and puppies. All three of my pets are crate trained. The puppy is currently in the process of crate training now. I do not like to leave pets unattended for too long. Dogs that have not been socialized, are not cat friendly, or are aggressive may be problematic to board, as I do have pets in the home. I will work doggy dayplay and stays around any dog walks that are prearranged. Occasionally, I can do last minute appointments, but typically like to schedule out the week ahead. I take care of my two dogs daily, so adding another to the mix is typically no problem. I treat all pets like they are my own. I love animals and I will try to work with them as much as possible while ensuring everyone’s safety. I follow the owners requests when going into client homes and will ensure any requests or dietary concerns are addressed if they are dropped off.
“I cannot say enough great things about Wanda. She treated my Mini Schnauzer Gotham like her own. He loved all the walks she took him on and her great big yard. He also loved her mini poodle Romeo that kept him company. Wanda kept in touch throughout his stay with pics and updates. I am so happy we found Wanda and already booked Gotham's next visit.”

“Olive Oyl had the best time with Annie, she got to play and spend lots of time outdoors! It was wonderful receiving photos and updates from Annie throughout the stay, felt like we got to be a part of it as well! Thank you so much for welcoming her into your home!”

“My two dogs loved their visit with Cynthia and Eli and their dog Max.They were very gracious hosts, kind and attentive, kept me informed, and shared photos. True dog lovers. I was able to relax and enjoy my visit with family knowing my "kids" were in good hands.Highly recommended. I also feel fortunate to have met two very good people, and do intend to remain in touch. Dawn D.”

“Overall the greatest dog sitter at first I was scared to leave my babies with a stranger but she welcomed my dogs in with open arms she gave me picture updates i will continue to use her in the future”

“Tara was absolutely wonderful with Milo! She cared for him as if he were her own, sending lots of photos and thoughtful updates that kept us at ease while we were away. She took the time to understand his quirks, even letting him choose his favorite sleeping spot, and made sure he was happy and comfortable. Her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care really stood out. We’re so grateful for the loving environment she provided and would trust her with Milo anytime!”

“I would highly recommend Amruta, she is a caring, responsible and communicative dog sitter. Amruta took time to understand my dog's specific needs, preferences and routine ensuring that they received the best care possible. Amruta sent me frequent pictures and updates, keeping me informed about my dog's mood and health. This level of communication gave me immense peace of mind while we were away.”

“We are so happy to have found Erika! She takes great care of our 19lb doodle and sends lots of photos. She’s super easy to communicate with and is very personable as well.”

“We are so happy that are neighbors referred us to Dawn! Our Beckham usually goes with us everywhere but we had an important event to attend without him. He immediately felt comfortable with Dawn and so did we! We were able to enjoy our late night out without worries. Dawn kept in touch with photos and feedback on how he was doing. It meant so much to us. We can’t recommend Dawn enough.”
“Annette is truly a dog/animal lover. After our meet and greet, we felt very comfortable leaving our pups in her hands for our wedding. I did not stress once that they were not being well taken care of. Annette has set up her home to be prepared for all pets’ personalities. When we picked our dogs up, Annette gave us a full and detailed report of how their stay was. They left happy and relaxed! Thank you, Annette!”

“Angel was just terrific with our dog, Sasha, who can be rather anxious. Sasha came down with a stomach thing two days before we were going away. I offered a couple of options to Angel because I was worried that Sasha would get up in the middle of the night and need to go out (and might not ask!). Angel wasn't phased and said no problem. In the end that didn't happen, but Angel was willing to get up if needed. Sasha seemed very happy. Since their backyard isn't fenced in, Angel put up a great enclosure so Sasha could play and hang out safely outside. We look forward to her next visit with Angel!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wappingers Falls
Phalisity was awesome! Clover tends to get an upset stomach when he’s nervous. During his week with Phalisity, he was completely well and he seemed to have loved his time there. It might be her wonderful care, her family, or her beautiful dog. It’s probably all the above and I’m excited for Clover to spend time with them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
