“Odie had a wonderful stay with Maryline and her family. It was evident that he was treated as part of the family. Maryline was easy to contact and shared amazing photos of Odie's visit. She made our holiday travel stress free knowing Odie was in good hands.”

“Sonia and family were great with our Brisket! He had a blast on his vacation, they shared updates, and he made new friends. Very easy to deal with and addressing of his parents’ questions. Would book again.”

“Incredibly responsive, friendly , and easy going. Amruta agreed to watch our dog child during our wedding weekend and…. Bring him for family photos and back on our wedding day. She made it so easy and we were able to trust her to deliver. Alfie had a great time and we couldn’t have done it without Amruta. Thank you!!”

“Mario (and his sweet family) were amazing! Our dog is a bit anxious and specific about who she feels comfortable with, but they were all so attentive and loving that they had her opening up in no time. I would highly recommend Mario to anyone for top-notch pet care.”

“It was our first time leaving our little\big pup. We were nervous but he had such a blast he barely missed us lol. Blitzen was able to socialize with Dawn’a dog Maestro and other people which is ideal for a pup. Dawn sent lots of videos and pictures while we were away which made us feel at ease. It’s nice when you can go away & know your fur babies are taken care of.”
“They treated my pup so well. Honestly couldn't have asked for a better sitter. Kept my pup busy with puzzles, and outdoor activities. Made their home feel like his own. So grateful for them. I trust them to watch Cash in the future.”

“Gretchen took excellent care of my dog while I was away. He seemed very happy during his stay. I also received daily photos and updates about how he was doing. I'll definitely use Gretchen's services again.”

“I can't say enough good things about Athena! She took amazing care of my dog while I was away for vacation, and I felt so at ease knowing she was looking after him. She went above and beyond, keeping me updated with pictures and messages throughout my vacation, which really put my mind at ease. On top of that, she's super sweet and easy to communicate with. I’d absolutely trust her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible and caring pet sitter. Thank you again from us and Bruce for everything, Athena!”

“❤️😳🙌I dropped my puppy Malinois off with Angel for 5 days. She came back happy, and better behaving when I picked her up. I can tell a lot af attention was given to her and she was treated well. A Puppy Malinois not the easiest dog to handle… Angel is definitely a dog whisperer 🙏🏻✨”

“Well Ms Annette was WONDERFUL. Can't recommend highly enough. She obviously has an affection and ability with dogs, witnessed from the first second of our in person interactions in her driveway. It made me feel so relieved to have her take care of them, especially since she sent me updates and photos of them every day. She's fantastic and I'm looking for another trip in that vicinity so I can drop the two boys (mini dachshund, cockapoo) off for another visit to Ms Annette's house in Pawling!”
“Rosalie was very kind to our senior dog, Bob. She has a lovely, clean home with a private, enclosed back yard for him to roam around. I would hire her again and recommend her to others.”

“Stephen is a super care taker, for sure. Great and timely communications, friendly and very accommodating for a last minute request. Made the whole experience of looking after my Gracie seamless and easy.”

“Daniela was pretty quick & efficient with our dogs. No complaints, just a little hiccup when I had a family emergency and needed her to be more flexible with pickup. Other than that, would use her again.”

“Emily is amazing! I live in LA but was visiting my mom in Woodstock and needed a dog sitter last minute for my little senior dog, Rihanna. Emily graciously took her for a house sit in her home for a long weekend. Emily was thorough and asked about Rihanna’s routine, taking care to follow it well. I can tell that Emily has extensive experience with pets and a special love for them. Rihanna required both liquid and pill medicines that Emily took care to give her 2x a day. Emily also sent photo updates in the app and kept me informed about how Rihanna was doing. Rihanna seemed extremely happy with Emily, and I can tell that she got lots of love. She can be anxious when traveling, but Emily’s calm presence was great for her. I would 100% select Emily again!”

“Annie was great with my dog for a week of boarding. My dog can be reactive and takes time to get used to new people but right away when he met Annie I knew he was comfortable and my mind was at ease for the week. She sent pictures and provided updates whenever I asked.”

“Beckie and her family were the perfect home away from home for our high-energy 2yo German Shepherd. She has a beautiful and massive back yard and provided photo updates throughout the stay. We’ll happily trust Beckie with Echo on future trips and highly recommend her!”

About: I've been caring for dogs since middle school, including over 12 years of hands-on experience caring for my own dog, Aubrey. I've also had family, friends, and neighbors rely on me to walk, feed, groom, and care for their pets. Over the years, I've gained experience with dogs of many sizes, breeds, and personalities, including Golden Retrievers, mixed breeds, Yorkshire Terriers, hounds, Chihuahuas, and Corgis. I especially enjoy caring for senior pets and making sure they receive the patience, attention, and affection they deserve. I like spending quality time with them, grooming them, observing their behavior and how they're doing, and making sure they're comfortable and cared for. I've also expanded my experience through volunteer work with Rockland Orange Furrever Homes and the Hudson Valley SPCA, where I've worked with shelter animals and gained additional experience observing animal behavior and providing hands-on care. Whether your pet needs a good walk, a meal, some grooming, companionship, or simply someone who will give them plenty of love and attention, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. I currently have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I enjoy making time for walks, play, grooming, companionship, and simply getting to know each pet's personality and routine. I'm able to be flexible with my availability and want every pet in my care to feel comfortable, safe, and loved. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and following their normal routine as closely as possible. I make sure doors, gates, and other exits are secure, provide fresh water and meals according to the owner's instructions, and give pets plenty of attention and exercise. I also pay close attention to their behavior and overall condition so I can recognize anything unusual and communicate concerns to their owner. During walks, I use safe handling practices and stay aware of the pet's surroundings, other animals, and potential hazards. I want every pet to feel comfortable and cared for while their owner is away.
“Highly recommend Erika’s services. From the intro meet-up to the first stay pick-up she was very easy going, super responsive and took great care of our precious babies. 💛✨🐾 ✨💛”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
