“My puppy Skye loved her stay with Cory and her family. She made me feel at ease that she was going to be fine and safe as she’s a climber. Skye did great with Cory and is an exceptional caregiver. She sent me updates on and off as well. I highly recommend Cory and will use her again. Thankyou so much.”

“My pup stayed at Kimberly’s home for a night. She took great care of him! She was very easy to communicate with and responsive. Kimberly is a true animal lover! I highly recommend her and will definitely reach out to her in the future!”

“Angel was just terrific with our dog, Sasha, who can be rather anxious. Sasha came down with a stomach thing two days before we were going away. I offered a couple of options to Angel because I was worried that Sasha would get up in the middle of the night and need to go out (and might not ask!). Angel wasn't phased and said no problem. In the end that didn't happen, but Angel was willing to get up if needed. Sasha seemed very happy. Since their backyard isn't fenced in, Angel put up a great enclosure so Sasha could play and hang out safely outside. We look forward to her next visit with Angel!”

“Katherine was a great sitter. She really loves dogs and my dog Tyson had the greatest time her and her dog Tilly. They got along really well. Thank you so much for loving my dog for the weekend! It's so comforting to know your dog is having a great time while you are away.”

“Boarding Charlie at David's place went great. David was communicative throughout, and he was undaunted by Charlie's complicated medicine schedule. He even figured out a new way to get Charlie to take his pills. He also supervised his little kids around Charlie to be sure Charlie didn't get overwhelmed. I'd definitely use him again.”

“Stephanie took amazing care of my two older pups. Her home was welcoming, and her pets had a blast with their new playmates while we were out of town, Stephanie provided consistent updates and photos, we were able to relax and enjoy our getaway knowing they were in good hands. I will definitely be returning!”

“My girl Josie had a fantastic time with Nicole; she was well-cared for, well-loved and I received daily updates and pics of all the fun she was having. I highly recommend Nicole and will certainly use her again!”

“Was so happy to find someone to take care of our dog during a holiday, and we felt better knowing he was safe with Mario! We did a doggie day care day with him in advance so they could get to know each other, and our dog was excited to see Mario when we dropped him off for an overnight! We received updates during the stay also. Would definitely recommend Mario and will book him again for future dog watching needs!”

“Annette is truly a dog/animal lover. After our meet and greet, we felt very comfortable leaving our pups in her hands for our wedding. I did not stress once that they were not being well taken care of. Annette has set up her home to be prepared for all pets’ personalities. When we picked our dogs up, Annette gave us a full and detailed report of how their stay was. They left happy and relaxed! Thank you, Annette!”

“I cannot recommend Stephen enough. He took amazing care of our Buddy while we were away. He communicated and sent us videos and updates every day. He was cautious when introducing Buddy to the other dogs in his care and we had a meet and greet prior to the stay which I appreciate, he goes above and beyond to make sure the dogs in his care are compatible to keep all dogs safe. I look forward to using him in the future and I know Buddy will too. You can see that dogs in Stephens care are treated as his own and that is so comforting when leaving your dog in his care.”

“Odie had a wonderful stay with Maryline and her family. It was evident that he was treated as part of the family. Maryline was easy to contact and shared amazing photos of Odie's visit. She made our holiday travel stress free knowing Odie was in good hands.”

About: I've been petsitting for over 20 years and I am also proud fur mama to a 14 lb. Yorkie/Dachsund names Maximillian. Max LOVES other dogs and we would love to keep your dog company while you're out of town. I'm on vacation for the summer so we would love to host your furry friends for a visit for a day or overnight or visit them at your place. I'm available during the summer/school breaks and on weekends during the school year (I'm a teacher). I'll have lots of time for walks, belly rubs. I live close to the rail trail and the walkway. Dogs are welcome on the couch. There's lots of space here to roll around on the floor, play fetch, bask in the sun on the fenced-in patio. For boarding, dogs must be crate trained, since I don't want to risk any harm to my dog or yours while I'm out.
“I would highly recommend Amruta, she is a caring, responsible and communicative dog sitter. Amruta took time to understand my dog's specific needs, preferences and routine ensuring that they received the best care possible. Amruta sent me frequent pictures and updates, keeping me informed about my dog's mood and health. This level of communication gave me immense peace of mind while we were away.”

“Janice was amazing! I will definitely leave my dog Beau with her again! She has so much love for all animals and we felt so at peace leaving Beau for his first dog-sitting visit. There is so much space for the dogs to run and play and I knew he was in great hands:)”

“We are so happy to have found Erika! She takes great care of our 19lb doodle and sends lots of photos. She’s super easy to communicate with and is very personable as well.”

“We Love Caroline! She sent the sweetest update pics and was lovely to work with. Easy communication, good vibes all around. I’ll def be contacting her again for hangs with my pup.”

“Rosalie was very kind to our senior dog, Bob. She has a lovely, clean home with a private, enclosed back yard for him to roam around. I would hire her again and recommend her to others.”

“Emily is amazing! I live in LA but was visiting my mom in Woodstock and needed a dog sitter last minute for my little senior dog, Rihanna. Emily graciously took her for a house sit in her home for a long weekend. Emily was thorough and asked about Rihanna’s routine, taking care to follow it well. I can tell that Emily has extensive experience with pets and a special love for them. Rihanna required both liquid and pill medicines that Emily took care to give her 2x a day. Emily also sent photo updates in the app and kept me informed about how Rihanna was doing. Rihanna seemed extremely happy with Emily, and I can tell that she got lots of love. She can be anxious when traveling, but Emily’s calm presence was great for her. I would 100% select Emily again!”

“This was my first time using Daniela to care for my dog. Daniela was kind and responsive, and her dog, Chico, is so sweet and a perfect playmate for my pup. An added bonus is that Daniela was willing to do a drop off at the end of the booking (even though this isn’t a service she lists on her Rover profile), which I found especially helpful and accommodating. However, I can tell Daniela is new to Rover (I’m a sitter myself) so she didn’t come across as experienced as other sitters we’ve used. My particular dog is fairly low-maintenance and only needed a sitter for 12 hours, so that worked for us. But for a longer booking or a pet with more specific needs/instructions, she may not be my first choice.”

About: I was raised in a positive pet friendly family environment and had my own dogs and cats for more than twenty years. I can handle large, medium, and small dogs and will look to give them long walks and lots of exercise as a good dog is a tired dog. I work full-time but have plenty of free time during the week and on weekends to feed, walk, play fetch, or just hang out with your dog. I am happy to come to your home and walk your dog and or play at a local dog park, I am familiar with dogs from Yorkshire Terriers and Kings Charles Spaniels to Rottweilers and German Shepards.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
