“This was our second time using Caroline as our dog sitter, always a great experience! She’s very communicative, sent us updates, and took such great care of our puppy while we were away for two nights. We plan to book with Caroline again and highly recommend her!”

“We’re so happy we found Nayeli! My husband and I were looking for a sitter near our Airbnb in upstate NY since it didn’t allow dogs, and Nayeli was absolutely fantastic. She’s very knowledgeable and took such great care of our dogs, including giving thyroid medication to our Husky. She sent us regular updates and photos, which made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Her home is clean, well-equipped, and safe for dogs. The fenced backyard is beautiful, and our dogs had so much fun playing there with her own dogs — they got along so well! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely book with Nayeli again in the future. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter!”

“Rebecca did a fantastic job taking care of my 12 year old dog! She was very responsive, sent pictures of how she was doing and made her part of the family. Would highly recommend her to others. We will be using her services again!”

“Cici was wonderful with Ruby! I had another rover fall through and Cici worker with me to find a solution. We were able to have a very slow and steady meet and greet. It gave Ruby a ton of confidence for the stay. All the updates about how my pup was fitting in with her family were great. She handled the pup well. Would highly recommend”

“Communication with Victoria is amazing. We met before and she spent plenty of time listening to what I wanted and expected. She told me exactly what she could and would do. The daily updates and pictures are long and informative and I really felt like I knew what was going on, even across the Atlantic. She is super friendly and really understands dogs. She even maintained my training regiment (probably better than I was doing it). I hope to keep using her over and over!”

“Amanda and her husband took wonderful care of Jack. I received daily updates and pictures which helped ease my anxiety about leaving him for a few days. He was so spoiled! You can tell they are dog lovers and treated him like he was theirs. I will be using them in the future and have already booked Jacks next stay without hesitation.”

“Jacqueline is an absolutely amazing dog sitter! Took fantastic care of my dog, Koda, and took so many pictures, which I really appreciated. He was treated like her own, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”
About: Hi! I have 2 small dogs and have had animals in my life since I was a kid. My dogs are friendly to all, healthy, and well-loved. I am also a teacher and a mom to two fantastic girls. I can understand busy life and would love to help others get it all done - while sharing my time playing, feeding, walking your dogs. Get $40 off your first Rover booking! https://www.rover.com/sit/nicolp03637 I am a teacher and have some time off for the summer. I would love to take some of my extra time to work with dogs. When the school year kicks off, I can continue to help in the evening and weekends. I have a fenced yard and my own small, very friendly schnauzer-poodle mix. Your dog would have plenty of love from me and my sweet dog. In addition, I am able to take the pooch on walks in the neighborhood or a nice hike, depending on the timing.
“Wonderful experience for me and my dog! Nicole is great at making you and your dog feel comfortable along with her exceptional doggie set up. You really cannot beat the personal attention and care she gives to your dog, it's worth every penny! We will definitely be a repeat costumer!”

“Megen was great, our dog came back very happy! Megen's pets were great play friends and she communicated well while we were away. Megen was also very flexible with drop off and pick up which we really appreciated.”

“Brittany was wonderful with Cody. He is not used to be separated from us so we knew that he would be a challenge. I am happy with the treatment that Cody received and if the occasion occurs we will book with Brittany again.”

“Cipriana is such a god send for us and we feel so lucky to have found her! We recently went away and left our somewhat neurotic, but sweet Chiweenie, Nova, in her care. Not only did she give us daily updates on how she was adjusting, she even sent pictures that were really appreciated. We plan on using Cipriana all the time when we need someone to watch Nova because we feel we can totally trust the care and safety she gave our sweet pooch.”

“Stephanie took amazing care of my two older pups. Her home was welcoming, and her pets had a blast with their new playmates while we were out of town, Stephanie provided consistent updates and photos, we were able to relax and enjoy our getaway knowing they were in good hands. I will definitely be returning!”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Eleanor. This was the first time leaving our Jarvis with someone besides family but after meeting Eleanor I was not nervous at all. We received updates and photos throughout his stay and when we picked him up he didn’t want to leave. I will definitely use Eleanor again when we need someone to watch our Jarvis. Thank you Eleanor for taking such wonderful care of our dog.💜”

“❤️😳🙌I dropped my puppy Malinois off with Angel for 5 days. She came back happy, and better behaving when I picked her up. I can tell a lot af attention was given to her and she was treated well. A Puppy Malinois not the easiest dog to handle… Angel is definitely a dog whisperer 🙏🏻✨”

“I highly recommend Marielle. She’s is conscientious and light hearted. Her home and fenced yard are lovely. I genuinely got the impression that she enjoyed my dog Ella. It was a breeze to communicate with her to set up drop off and pick up times.”

About: I have spent my entire life surrounded by animals of all kind and have always had the love and drive to ensure they have the best life and experiences possible. This love and compassion has led me to volunteering at the SPCA for a number of months, which turned into working there for over 4 years as both an animal care attendant and as a veterinary assistant. In my time there, I have been given the most incredible opportunity to both care for and rehouse hundreds of animals and have even acquired a couple of cats along the way. I am currently in the process of opening my own dog daycare to provide a very loving, caring environment for the dogs to spend their day while their pet parents are away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ulster Park
Kate has a very warm demeanor and my first impression when I brought our dog Astrid over to her house for a meet and greet before boarding, was that she would care for our dog as if she were her own. Astrid is usually quite anxious when she’s first introduced to a new person and a new environment, but she appeared to be more at ease much quicker with Kate at her house than she typically is. Kate sent us regular pictures and updates, was very flexible about our schedule for pickup and drop-off, prompt and easy to communicate with, and we didn’t worry about Astrid at all. We will certainly reach out to Kate again when planning future boarding accommodations for our sweet Astrid.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
