“We were very happy with how Marielle took the time to accommodate and adapt with the needs of our 1 year old whippet. She provided daily updates and photos and let us know of any issues or questions as they came up. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Janice took great care of our almost one year old golden retriever on a recent weekend stay. She was caring, thorough, and only takes on one pet at a time so she can provide one on one care and attention. Ellie loved getting to know Janice’s two dogs and cat and enjoying the beautiful fall weather from the relaxing farm atmosphere. Janice sent frequent updates and photos throughout Ellie’s stay, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our time away. I would definitely book her again!”

“We Love Caroline! She sent the sweetest update pics and was lovely to work with. Easy communication, good vibes all around. I’ll def be contacting her again for hangs with my pup.”

About: I’ve always had pets throughout my lifetime from kitties, dogs, birds, fish, reptiles, squirrels that I hand fed and set free with my father- and many more. I worked in pet stores and help foster kittens when available. 💕 Look forward to meeting you soon. I work part time as a territory supervisor, and my work is flexible. I’m home every night and throughout the day leaving me with much time to care for your pets. I’ve given medications and feed depending on preference of pet and client. Each pet is unique to their way of being and I like to match the energy needed.
“Sophia is so lovely and gentle. I felt very confident that she would be a sweet caretaker for Fiona. She sent me photos and responded quickly. She was very upfront when we met about other things she would be doing while Fiona was there and I really appreciated her doing so. We were able to talk about Fiona’s needs and quirks and how best to address them for everyone’s benefit. Would definitely use her again when she’s in town!”

“Jennifer was absolutely fantastic! Great communication throughout, sent pictures and a little summary every day. Definitely the most comfortable I’ve ever felt leaving our dog with someone for a longer period of time.”

“Volha was fantastic! She would update us with photos everyday. Volha asked us about our dog’s( Lisa) routine to make sure she was most comfortable during her stay without too many changes. We will definitely ask Volha again to watch Lisa in the future!”

“Rutledge had a great stay and got along well with their dogs. We enjoyed photo and video updates. We thank Nicole and Caaba for making accommodations for Rutledge for one additional night as our plans had to be extended. Rutledge was content!”

“We had SUCH a wonderful experience with Meghan & Sean—and so did our pup! Our 3yo dog is nervous around new people and can be reactive. We were worried about how she would do staying with a family with young kids. Meghan & Sean listed to our worries and helped up brainstorm ways to put our dog at ease. And it worked like a charm! We were so grateful to the extra time Meghan & Sean spent to make both the humans and the doggo feel positive about the plan. We loved getting pics of the crew on their daily walks. It was also really really REALLY nice to see how much love Meghan and fam have for all animals, and how positive they were about our sometimes tricky dog. Our dog had a great week and we will definitely return to Meghan & Sean for future doggy needs, whether it is another week or a shorter visit. Highly recommend, zero notes!”

“Reka is an amazing sitter. Her attention to care is unmatched. She made Saint feel like part of her family. She’s very responsive and sends daily updates and photos. I would recommend her to anyone wanting their pup to receive the same level of care and love that an owner would give their own. She’s the best!”

“Amanda was amazing! I was so glad that we had a meet and greet beforehand so I could make sure my pup felt comfortable with her and her two dogs. My dog warmed up to them quickly, and I knew that he would be in good hands. Amanda was great with him and sent me updates with photos and videos. My dog felt right at home! Amanda is very professional and kind, and the fact that she is a Vet Tech is a bonus! I will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you, Amanda!”

“Donna was great. She treated my dog like he was her own. I felt extremely confident that Guinness was being very well taken care of. Guinness came home very happy but tired from all the fun he had playing with Donna's dogs. I will definitely use Donna and her services again. I'm very happy. I found her thank you so much.”

“Kayte was amazing!!! My dog has anxiety, but he felt right at home with Kayte. They even went on a 5-mile walk that I’ll now have to live up to haha. She sent pics daily and Onyx always looked so happy and safe. I’ll definitely be using Kayte again!!!”

About: Animals have and always will be an integral part of my human nature. To make sure animals are provided with exercise, love and compassion are ways I express my values as an animal advocate. Keeping routine is my forte. I have most experience with dogs, all breeds and sizes! Walking is how I keep routine and promote a sense of well being for both my own animals and others 😌 Currently seeking full time pet care. Exercise takes time and I enjoy the physical aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Keeping a balance of short and or long walks. Depending on the breed I could make exercise minimal or lengthy. Currently I have a 15ft by 5ft outdoor kennel. Yard is well maintained with space and away from any roads. Private residence. I keep my small dog on a lead. Lead is also an option for other animals. My yard has plenty of space for playtime and fetching.

“Thalya did an amazing job taking care of our 3-year-old dog, Lucky Oreo. She was incredibly responsive, sending regular updates that kept us reassured and informed. Her loving care and attention made all the difference, and Lucky Oreo was clearly happy and well looked after. We highly recommend Thalya for her exceptional pet-sitting services!”

“Kayleah was amazing with our dog Trek. This was our first time using Rover and Kayleah made it super easy. She took great care of our Trek and send us pictures of him hiking and having fun with friends the whole time. I know he had a blast. He slept the whole time on our drive back to Pittsburgh. I highly recommend Kayleah!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
