“Joe is the an excellent pet sitter. He helped us with a last minute booking and even made himself available for a meet and greet that same afternoon! He is very friendly and his communication skills are spot on. He cares very much for animals as is evidenced by his love for his own dear pup. He took wonderful care of our two frenchies, one being an old guy with mobility issues the other being an energetic 2 year old. I would not hesitate to highly recommend nor engage him in the future.”

“Victoria was incredibly reliable, caring, and clearly experienced with dogs. Our dog was always excited to see her, and we felt completely comfortable knowing he was in such good hands.”

“My dog immediately bonded to Rose as soon as she walked into the house. She has an incredible way with dogs, and a deep knowledge of their behavior and needs. She is a true dog lover! I feel grateful that we found her, as it is such a relief to know there is someone who can take great care of our canine family member when we cannot be around.”

About: Hello! :) I love animals, dogs, cats, fish, pocket pets, exotic, etc.! I have extensive experience with cats and have been with cats my whole life and I have been told many a times that I am a very fast learner for anything I have not done before. In 2025 I completed the "Pet Sitting, Training, Grooming Microcredential" at SUNY Ulster. The Microcredential included the following classes; Pet CPR & First Aid, Behavior Medicine for Animals, and Restraint and Handling. As of 11/01/2024 I am certified in Pet CPR by RECOVER and ACVECC. And as of 02/23/2025 I have a certificate of Completion in the Fear Free certificate program by Fear Free Leaders in Animal Wellbeing. I am currently a student at SUNY New Paltz and as it is now summer break i am available 24/7. When I am not in New Paltz I live in Kingston with my parents and two cats, Pilot and Trixie. I will make sure your pets get lots of play time while you are away. I can take pets on walks, water plants, get mail, clean up messes, etc depending on what you need. And I have no problem complying with any weird quirks your pets have. (My cats have some very specific games they like). I also like to report back on what we did, anything that is possibly out of the ordinary, and of course I can send pictures!
“Vicki was great. She got along so well with our cats and gave them all specialized attention. She also sent us lots of updates, so we felt really safe and comfortable our kitties were bring well cared for.”

“Robin did great with my two cats while I was away - They warmed up to her super quickly, she was responsive and gave my daily updates - I could relax knowing that they were well cared for!”

“Alexandra was great to our two fur babies. She came to meet them in advance and they already seemed to like her. She was able to give one of our cats his medications each time she came, she played with them, and she gave them lots of love. She was also very prompt in her communication and provided lots of pictures each time.”

“Melissa was an excellent sitter. She wrote me a thoughtful and detailed report of her care for my cat and included a lot of photos. Reyna needs her meals split into 4 portions and spaced out because she eats too fast and Melissa did a great job feeding her, loading her auto feeder, keeping the litter box and food tray clean and giving her love and attention. I felt comfortable with Melissa right away after meeting her. I highly recommend Melissa for any type of pet care needs! She has a lot of experience working with animals in the medical field as well as general pet care and is very personable and professional.”

About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.
“Savannah was so amazing with our cat Tami She is truly a special cat lover and caretaker We came home to a calm and happy kitty! We enthusiastically recommend her!!!”

About: My care for animals is rooted in my nature. I have spent 28 years loving and caring for dogs, cats, and livestock like sheep and goats. I currently volunteer at the Ulster County SPCA weekly doing dog and cat socialization. I bring genuine passion, care, and patience to each pet that is in my care. I am available for pet visits and walks from 6am to 11am and 8:30pm to 10:30pm during the week. My availability on the weekends is much more flexible. Let’s chat and come up with a plan. With over two decades of animal experience, I know that trust is earned, not assumed. I take time to read each pet’s cues, honor their boundaries, and follow your established routines. Your home environment stays calm and consistent, your dog’s walk stays safe and controlled, and your cat always has the space they need to feel secure.
“Emily was absolutely wonderful! My 11 year old cat was snuggling with her when she visited. Emily took great care of my baby and sent me photos and videos of her when I was traveling. I highly recommend Emily and will definitely reach out to her next time we go away!”

“Bridget went above and beyond to take care of our cat while we were away on a trip. Communication with Bridget was great and we were able to trust that our cat was in great hands. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

Lake Katrine cat parents share their Rover experiences
Joe is the best! Before my kitty met him, it was very difficult to leave town because I couldn't find someone she liked and who I trusted. Joe is kind, attentive, and a great communicator. He knows how to play with a cat, which is an art form. I am so happy that I can leave town again without worry.

Victoria went above and beyond to take care of our kitty—over the holiday season and regardless of a blizzard that made travel difficult, she showed up! The updates and photos were so appreciated and thank you for bringing in our packages and deliveries too. Highly recommend and will book with her again!
