“A few firsts: a first-time booking with Rover and a first time my Charlie ALMOST didn’t want to come home with me 🥴🐶 Kimberly’s a gem…warm & caring & communicative & totally convenient. Highly recommend!”

“There is a reason Annette has so many positive reviews! Harper has separate anxiety and can often be nervous and anxious while away from home. However from the moment we arrived Annette put us at ease. Harper roamed around sniffing while I stayed for a few minutes. We will definitely be coming back to Annette! Definitely recommend as a sitter, we haven’t found anyone who compares in the area.”

“Matthew and his family are excellent dog caregivers! They have a very large fenced yard for the dogs to play. They are very attentive and sent many photos! I have an older newly adopted dog, they were so sweet and gentle with her. I highly recommend them!!!”

“Victoria has watched our black lab Stella a few times now and I cannot recommend her enough. She’s extremely patient with our dog and we appreciate that very much! Victoria makes sure to go the extra mile. For example, Stella neglects to use the potty regularly when she’s not at home but Victoria takes the time to give her extra walks to make sure the dog is comfortable using the bathroom in a newish setting. We also get plenty of pictures and updates of Stella when we’re away which is great when we miss the dog. Please use Victoria!”

About: Animals have and always will be an integral part of my human nature. To make sure animals are provided with exercise, love and compassion are ways I express my values as an animal advocate. Keeping routine is my forte. I have most experience with dogs, all breeds and sizes! Walking is how I keep routine and promote a sense of well being for both my own animals and others 😌 Currently seeking full time pet care. Exercise takes time and I enjoy the physical aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Keeping a balance of short and or long walks. Depending on the breed I could make exercise minimal or lengthy. Currently I have a 15ft by 5ft outdoor kennel. Yard is well maintained with space and away from any roads. Private residence. I keep my small dog on a lead. Lead is also an option for other animals. My yard has plenty of space for playtime and fetching.
“Stephen is a super care taker, for sure. Great and timely communications, friendly and very accommodating for a last minute request. Made the whole experience of looking after my Gracie seamless and easy.”

“Cici was wonderful with Ruby! I had another rover fall through and Cici worker with me to find a solution. We were able to have a very slow and steady meet and greet. It gave Ruby a ton of confidence for the stay. All the updates about how my pup was fitting in with her family were great. She handled the pup well. Would highly recommend”

“Rosalie is fabulous and Brinkley had a wonderful time. We did one overnight and got the cutest pictures while we were away. Brinkley thrives with easygoing energy and Rosalie's space and personality were exactly that. Thank you for having Brinkley, we'll be back!”

“My fiancé and I are so lucky to have found Cipriana. Our dog Tonto is hind leg paralyzed and needs special care, so when we were planning our recent vacation we needed someone to watch him that was comfortable doing expressions (both bladder and anal) as well as giving him his daily medications. Cipriana was willing to learn and took amazing care of our boy even if he was the MOST anxious during his stay. We cannot recommend her enough. She also kept us updated daily on how he was doing, since we’re both nervous wrecks about him. Thank you!”

“Stephanie took amazing care of my two older pups. Her home was welcoming, and her pets had a blast with their new playmates while we were out of town, Stephanie provided consistent updates and photos, we were able to relax and enjoy our getaway knowing they were in good hands. I will definitely be returning!”

“Jennifer was an excellent sitter! She sent lots of updates and photos, and it was clear that Juliette was well cared for and having a great time. She even got her a little lamb toy, which was so sweet and unexpected. Would recommend her completely!”

“We had a family medical issue and was able to book Jacqueline quickly. Our dogs are both rescues and it matters a great deal to us who we bring into their lives. Jacqueline immediately made us, and our dogs, feel comfortable and within 5 minutes of being with them, our eldest was resting in her lap. Jaqueline sent constant photos and updates and we are very grateful to have found her and will for sure book her again. TY again, Jaqueline. That last note was from the pups!”

“Highly recommend. Johnathon has a lovely space where my pups had a blast. Loved the pictures he sent of them while I was away at my wedding. My Luna is an anxious dog and yet she did great. Definitely would rebook from here on out.”

“Megen was great, our dog came back very happy! Megen's pets were great play friends and she communicated well while we were away. Megen was also very flexible with drop off and pick up which we really appreciated.”

“Sean was absolutely great and I will definitely be using him again for future bookings! He was easy to communicate with both leading up to and during our boarding. My two dogs clearly were well cared for and came home happy and tired!”

About: I've been petsitting for over 20 years and I am also proud fur mama to a 14 lb. Yorkie/Dachsund names Maximillian. Max LOVES other dogs and we would love to keep your dog company while you're out of town. I'm on vacation for the summer so we would love to host your furry friends for a visit for a day or overnight or visit them at your place. I'm available during the summer/school breaks and on weekends during the school year (I'm a teacher). I'll have lots of time for walks, belly rubs. I live close to the rail trail and the walkway. Dogs are welcome on the couch. There's lots of space here to roll around on the floor, play fetch, bask in the sun on the fenced-in patio. For boarding, dogs must be crate trained, since I don't want to risk any harm to my dog or yours while I'm out.
“Gretchen took excellent care of my dog while I was away. He seemed very happy during his stay. I also received daily photos and updates about how he was doing. I'll definitely use Gretchen's services again.”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
