“Ebony is a lifesaver!!! Took care of our four pets for 3 days super super last minute — she is super communicative, sends pictures often, and took our dogs on a walk daily. I have a kitten and she took special care of him. Took extra time to make sure each pet felt comfy with her. She’s our go-to sitter now!”

“Donna took great care of my kitties! She kept me updated while I was away, especially relieving my concerns that my littlest one wouldn’t eat. She was prompt and made sure they got their treats - thanks Donna!”

“Elizabeth was beyond attentive, helpful, and caring towards my cats. I could not possible recommend hiring her more. I’m so appreciative of all she did to make my cats comfortable while I was away.”
About: I grew up with dogs and other small pets (cats, rabbits, chickens, mice, parakeets, fish, and more). That being said I am comfortable and prepared to take care of much more than dogs and cats. I’ve been responsible to provide food, water, and enrichment to my own pets as well at those of friends and family. I am a full time college student even over the summer but besides that I have a lot of free time. During those times i’d love to spend time caring for your pet or pets! I believe I can adapt well and pick up on the cues of a pet to keep them happy and healthy while according to the owners requests on care.
“Needed someone for a last-minute drop in for the next day and Margaret willingly accepted. She was timely and send photos while there. Will definitely contact her again.”

About: I've house sat, walked and cared for dogs ever since I was 14. My coworkers, neighbors and their friends are returning customers due to high detailed and enthusiastic care. I always tell people I will take care of your pets faster than your kids lol. Hi im currently working a part time job so depending on my schedule I can spend time with your furry friend before or after my shift. I follow clients pet plans with feedings, walkings and medications if needed. I will work with you on any adjustments you need for your fur baby.
“Kayla was able to make 2/walks in 1 day work with such short notice for our 2 dogs. She was very easy to communicate with and took good care of our girls, especially the older one. Would highly recommend and use Kayla again!”

“Timothy was a great sitter for our elderly cat. He was patient, kind and easily administered medication for our fur guy. We absolutely will hire Timothy again when we’re out of town and know our cat Stoopy would be in good hands.”

About: I was a dog walker in NYC for 5 years prior to moving to the Hudson valley. I enjoy spending quality time with the animals and giving them a fun day! I work fully remote at a not for profit and I make my own schedule. The flexibility is amazing, the pay, less so. I supplement my income by hanging out with animals! In my home I meet pets where I find them. If they prefer snuggles I will happily oblige, if they prefer their crate that is fine by me as well. I take a similar approach at their homes. My goal is to make a hard situation easier for them as best I can by keeping routine.
“So grateful we found Stefanie! Super sweet, communicative, and thoughtful. Our very shy cats came out for her which is rare for them with people they don’t know. Will definitely book again :)”

“I recommend Katelynn for any services that she provides. She did drop in visits for my Yorkshire Terrier while I was away on vacation. I was uncertain about his care while I was away. Then I came across the Rover app which was right on time. When I reviewed Katelynn profile, I was impressed. We did a meet a greet & I immediately asked if she would be willing to watch my dog. Katelynn was a JOY!! She adjusted her schedule per request. She even offered to water any plants or do any house chores. She even took my trash out for collection due to I was unavailable. I appreciate the photos & the updates on each visit. I wanted my pet to stay in his home so he would be comfortable. Normally I don’t write reviews but this young lady did an awesome JOB!! If she’s available, book her & I promise you will not be disappointed.”

About: I have had a variety of animals throughout my life. Dogs, cats, reptiles(even an alligator at one point). I currently have 4 snakes as well. I currently work 12 hour shifts on Thursday and Friday. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday day are pretty open now. We can certainly discuss time frames that work for both of us I request that if there are any special instructions for your pet, that you have them written out for me. I will travel to you to take care of your fur child of any age. I always respect my clients homes and pets.
“Samantha was attentive to our cat’s needs and was incredibly reliable! We got snowed in our trip away, and Samantha was able to add extra visits to come take care of our cat while we were trapped in the snow. I highly recommend Samantha, and will likely contact her again the next time we need a pet sitter!”

About: Volunteer with Guiding Eyes for socialization of 2month old puppies in my home in the past. Have 30 yrs + experience with my own rescue dogs. Now down to 1 senior dog who cannot walk long distances. Looking for new walking buddies! Retired and looking for new opportunities mostly during the week. Have volunteer work also, so prefer morning walks at this time; can come to you or you can drop off. I believe dogs thrive on exercise and daily walks; also great time to continue training and encourage obedience. Most dogs love to work out and be with their humans outside.

I now have my own pup, she is now almost 5 and I have four cats as well at different ages. I have fostered, bored and walked family and friends pets as well. Summer 2025*** I will be working summer school this summer but will be available Monday thru Thursday AFTER 1pm and Friday through Sunday ALL day/night unless otherwise marked unavailable :) I am a Teaching Assistant over at FDR BY DAY, and would love to help you with your pets by evening or weekend! If they are dog and cat friendly I can also take them home as needed or watch them at your home as well!
“We are so grateful for Janice and Noah! They are reliable, conscientious, and very kind to our two kitties. They had helpful insights when one of them got very sick and shared our happiness when she recovered. Five stars, high recommendation!”

About: I currently work as a physical therapist full time and started dog sitting while going to college in 2011 for a Great Dane named Maxx, from there I acquired many dog and cat sitting jobs through word of mouth and for friends and their family members. I have experience working with small dogs and bigger dogs. I love dogs and cats, I grew up having cats and had one dog. I will go the extra mile to give your pets all the love and attention they need. I take pride in making sure they feel at home while you’re gone. I’m currently working full time but have a very flexible schedule and a long lunch break so I’m able to be flexible with your pets schedule. I keep all my clients close to my work facility. I care for pets in your home. I love walking dogs and playing with them in their yard if they have one. I’m unable to care for pets in my home at this time.

- 99% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
