About: I am currently a vet-tech student. I am fear-free certified. I know the scramble for pet care and how scary it can be to trust someone new with your pets. I hope to ease those fears and you can know your pet is getting the care they need. I am currently a student so my schedule varies, and I am looking for a part time job to fill in some gaps. This would also provide me the flexibility ot take on pet-care when my schedule allows so that the care level is never compromised. I will adhere to any rules or weird quirks your pet may have developed. For example growing up our dog would only eat if you made him think it was cooked the same way human food was cooked. We had to do a whole thing on the stove to seem like we were stirring it to fully cooked. I will always be mindful of any openings in yards and be sure they're closed off or that the pet is leashed properly before any door is opened.
About: I have taken care of animals my whole life - from family pets, to pets of my own. I love all animals. We do not deserve them, but I do my best to earn their love every day. I truly enjoy providing them with all the love and safety they need. I have cared for small, medium, and large dogs. I cared for my sweet German Shorthaired Pointer (Hunter), who had cancer. Now I shower my young Aussie Mountain Doodle puppy (Selena) with love every day, teaching her to learn and grow, and brushing her constantly so her doodle fur does not get matted and she stays looking beautiful. I have fully potty trained her, she has learned a few commands, and with my guidance, she is getting better and better at walking on her leash. I also have two amazing senior kitties (Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin). They make me smile everyday. They are 14 years young, so they have started to have some slight health decline (cataracts, arthritis, hyperthyroidism), so I have gotten better and better at senior cat care. One of my kitties requires a pill twice a day, so I am an expert at administering pills to cats as well. I am also very good about making sure they have the freshest litter and litter boxes. I even house their litter boxes in special enclosures to give them privacy and a place of their own to do their business. From caring for my own pets, to feeding the squirrels and birds in my backyard, to rescuing stray cats - my love for animals knows no bounds. All animals deserve love, and I promise to care for you pets as if they were my own ❤️ I work full-time for a non-profit, but I work from home 3 days a week and only go into the office 2 times a week. This means I have some flexibility in my schedule on week days. On weekends I am wide open! At my home, I have a routine with my animals. They are fed right around the same times everyday, they are given fresh water twice a day, my one cat gets his medicine at the same time twice a day, and they all get a lot of pets and some treats daily as well. My puppy gets at least 2 walks a day, some swim time if the weather is nice, and A LOT of play time with her many toys every day. My cats do not like to play much now that they are older, but I do my best to keep them active with the few toys they show interest in. I have also converted my back porch into an enclosed catio in order to fulfill their dreams of being outdoor cats! In your home, I would utilize my stellar attention to detail in order to carefully follow your guidance. That way I can keep your pet(s) on their usual routine as much as possible so that they are as comfortable and feel as safe as possible. I am also a wonderful and thorough communicator, so I would ensure you were fully aware of everything so that you can feel comfortable as well.
“Dave is the best! He is so easy to work with. He treats my girl as if she was his own. Neighbors who have seen him with her sang his praises to me. She loves her walks with him. All I have to do is say his name and she gets excited. He is kind and trustworthy and has my highest recommendation. Our time has ended due to us moving out of the area which breaks my heart for my girl but whoever chooses Dave for their pets, you won’t find better!”
“Katherine has been great with my dog Leo. She can get in and out of a very difficult door to open (fiddly lock) and is very self-reliant. I’m sure Leo likes her a lot and I’m happy to have her walk my dog. A+”

“This is the second time we’ve used Grettel to walk our dog and we’ll definitely have her walk our dog again. It’s clear she loves and knows dogs. Highly recommend!”

“We are so grateful for Emily! What a treasure. Our boys LOVE her. She is so reliable, takes amazing care of our boys and just a lovely person. We are so thrilled to have found her and can give her a great reference. Don’t hesitate!”

“Amanda is an amazing walker and pet sitter. She has gone above and beyond for me and my dog Beatrice. She has carried my dog over hot asphalt to shade and grass for walks. Added ice to her water bowl on the hot days. She is a regular walker for me and I have entrusted her with a key to my loft. You can do no better in my book. Schedule her with confidence! 😊 Stars 6!”
“I’m very happy with Ja’s service! I have a Pitbull and a rather large German Shepherd. While the Pibble is a sweetheart the Shepherd can be a bit of a handful at times. She has a very calming demeanor and has great control over them both. She gave them extra pets and even sat in the sun with them on the balcony for a bit. She even brought in my meal delivery and put everything in the fridge for me. Will certainly book again! Especially next time I leave town! Thank you Ja!”
About: Hey there, fellow dog lovers! I’m Nicole, your go-to gal for reliable, loving dog walks and drop-in visits. With over a decade of experience, I know how to keep pups happy, active, and well cared for while you’re away. I’ve grown up with dogs and truly love spending time with them. Whether that’s getting their energy out on a walk or stopping by for playtime, potty breaks, and some extra love and attention. I’m here to make sure your dog stays on their routine and feels comfortable in their own home. I have two dogs of my own, a 8 year old Shepherd mix, Freya, and a 2 year old mixed breed, Thorin, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pup. I treat every dog like they’re part of my own pack, with patience, care, and plenty of belly rubs. Whether you need daily walks, a midday check-in, or help while you’re busy or away, I’ve got you covered. You can count on me for dependable communication, updates, and lots of happy tail wags. Ready to make your pup’s day a little brighter? Reach out, I’d love to help! I am currently not working so I have a lot of free time during the day to go on walks and spend lots of quality time with your pup ! I have a fenced in yard, while it’s not huge, it’s great for quick potty breaks and some zooming around. I have a car to go to the dog park at Kingston Point Park, and also have a great neighborhood to walk around in. I allow my dogs on the couch, but understand if that is not something you prefer.
“Aliza was so great and communicative when she came over to take my dog for a walk. Very knowledgable and great with animals. Would absolutely love to have her again. Thank you!”

About: I have taken care of all dogs and cats for years. In 2025 I gained my training and worked as a Kennel Technician at the HoundsTown franchise. On the side, whether its neighbors who go away for extended vacations, or dog walking within apartment buildings in New York and Central Park, this has always been a job in my life. This included grooming, feeding, administering medication, playing & exploring, keeping them company, training them around other dogs, and many other tasks. I love being outside and taking care of such sweet animals, I would love to care for your critter! I work in Social Work locally. I only work 28 hours a week as of right now and work mostly from home. I am available. In my own home I only have one cat. She has constant food, water, and attention. She loves to play and cuddle. Your pet will receive the same exact treatment as all animals are special to me.
“Kacey came to walk our pup Lotte on Thanksgiving, Lotte was very excited to have the company and Kacey even sent us some pics of the cats as well who came downstairs to say hello! Would hire Kacey again!”

About: Hi, my name is Lia. I am a 39 year old artist. I was born and raised in a rural part of northern NJ where we always had a wide variety of animals as well as 2-3 dogs at any given time; predominantly German Shephards. (We also had fish, cats, chickens, horses, rabbits and more!) I have a strong love and appreciation for all animals, but especially dogs, and would love so very much to take care of your pet while you are away. I love going outdoors and being physically active and would love to share outdoor playtime with your pet. Why I love dog sitting I've had dogs my whole life. My family predominantly raised German Shepherds - and we typically had 2-3 dogs in our family at any given time. Dogs have always created a special connection and friendship for me that is irreplaceable! My experience administering medication Yes - so long as the owner feels that it is appropriate and manageable. My schedule is quite flexible, so I have time in the morning and mid day to attend to animals and take them for a walk, give feeding, attention, etc. - As well as flexibility in the evening to give dinner, evening walks, etc. At the moment I am not accepting pets in my home, however, I currently don't have any animals of my own so if I do board pets, they will be the only animal in the house.
“Rosalie has been so lovely to work with. Our recently adopted dog struggles with separation anxiety and Rosalie has been willing to work with us to slowly build her confidence so that we can eventually leave her overnight. We are very grateful for her help, patience, and support!”

About: If you have an athletic or active dog, we are the hosts for you!!! Trips to parks (on and off leash), running the trails, and swimming in a Lake will happen every day. If your dog is less active, we can bring our activity level to where your dog is most happy and comfortable. I have a very open schedule. Usually I go to the park go with my family who enjoy the day doing things outside the house. If you have a last minute appointment or you need anything on the same day I do take them I have a very open schedule one works in the morning and the other one works in the afternoon so your pet will never be alone. I had pets before they pass away. We used to love our pets so much. We took CPR classes and emergency classes for pets just in case.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
