TJ was great! He took care of my two babies with such love and attention. He was at my house when he said he would be and cuddled with my boys to make them feel safe. I would highly recommend TJ to watch your pets!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Breanna was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter, and I’m so grateful for the care she provided for my three cats over the holidays. She arrived right on time, was incredibly communicative, and very respectful of the private spaces in my home. Breanna kept me at ease by providing thoughtful updates and sharing photos, which truly meant a lot while I was away. It was clear my cats were comfortable and well cared for, and I appreciated her attention to detail and professionalism. I would absolutely book Breanna again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and trustworthy cat sitter.

About: Hi. My name is Kiki and I love dogs!! I have years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I was a manager at a cage-free dog daycare for 5 years, where I handled everything from group play supervision to administering medications and managing daily care routines. I also volunteered for 3 years at Second Chance Dog Rescue, helping with socialization, walking, and basic training. In addition, I’ve provided trusted pet sitting services in Peekskill, NY for 5 years until the family relocated. I’m trained in pet CPR, comfortable administering all types of medications, and have a dog of my own—so I truly understand how important it is to find someone reliable and compassionate to care for your pets. I have a car, am highly dependable, and treat every animal as if they were my own. Although I work full-time and attend school, I have large daily time blocks available between commitments, which I dedicate to pet sitting, walking, and drop-in visits I care for every pet like my own, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while following their regular routine, my skills are administering medications, and giving personalized attention. Every pet has a specific personality so I try to respect that much like people.

Sophia is an awesome pet sitter! I have a very high energy, high drive working dog, and Sophia did a lovely job caring for her, keeping my dog happy, enriched, and safe. My dog also gets quite a robust regimen of supplements and medications, all which were administered with care. I highly recommend Sophia and will absolutely call her again the next time I need a sitter.

Sarah was fantastic and we highly recommend her to anyone! She did a great job caring for our fickle pugs. She kept us updated with pictures and messages about how the dogs were doing. We felt totally comfortable leaving them in her care. Having Sarah stay with our pugs gave us peace of mind to enjoy our vacation.

This was our first time using Rover and we were definitely a bit nervous about it. It is difficult in this day and age to trust someone to stay in your home and care for your pets. We were away for a two week vacation and were in need of someone to watch our dogs during the week and stay overnight in our home. Lori came through for us in doing just that. We met her first for a meet and greet. After several messages back and forth, she reassured me that our dogs would be well cared for and they were. She is a true animal lover. Our dogs were safe in their home thanks to Lori and did not have to be stressed out in a kennel that was unfamiliar to them. I would highly recommend Lori for taking care of your pets.

We were so happy to find Aliza on the Rover app. We have a new rescue dog, Cobalt, and we were concerned about leaving him for the first time, while we went on a week long cruise that we booked last year. Aliza took great care of Cobalt and sent us frequent photos and updates to let us know how well he was doing. We will certainly hire Aliza again when we need a dog sitter.

About: I’ve had animals my whole life growing up and currently have my own pets now. I’ve worked in an animal hospital as a Vet tech assistant/kennel manager for a few years. I then after that worked for my local shelter for about 10 years as a kennel worker and I was head of our dog behavioral team. I know how to read dog body language, and give meds if need be. I am a balance dog trainer that makes her own schedule, I work around my pet setting schedule! I'm currently a dog trainer and make my own schedule, I can provide pet sitting when ever needed because I can make my schedule around when I need to pet sit! I would treat my client’s pets like they were one of my own pets. I would do what ever I can to make your animals feel comfortable while you are gone.

Rose was an absolute dream of a sitter. They made sure we got pictures of the boys, left our house probably cleaner than my husband and I left it and was more than willing to meet with us on two separate occasions before our boarding sesh to help acclimate our more skittish doggo son. By mid-weekend, both dogs were fans of Rose and honestly, so am I. 10/10 would recommend.

About: I really love being around animals as they bring a lot of joy. Over the years I have pet sat for various family friends, co-workers, colleagues, and friends of friends pets. While pet sitting not only have I been responsible to feed the pets, give them water, let them out to relieve themselves, clean up after the pets, and take them out for a walk but I also have looked after the house. Additionally, I have been working for a company so couples beloved dogs can attend their weddings. Previously, I have volunteered by fostering dogs and dog walking. I am available most weekends and off most holidays. I do work full time so if it is anything during the week I do not get home until after 5 pm. Anything during the week I need to know ahead of time so I can plan accordingly. I would care for your pets as one of my own. I am flexible and come to your pets home so they are comfortable in their own environment.

Lexi watched my three pets, including an older special needs cat. Her communication was wonderful - great question, photos and updates, and just a cheerful confidence that helped me feel very comfortable leaving them in her care. They and the house were in great shape when I returned and I could tell the cats and dog were well cared for. Thank you so much!

Leslie was fantastic! We felt so lucky to have found her to care for our pup (and our home!). She obviously was on top of the feedings, walkings, etc…but what we really valued was the love she gave our dog while we were away. We are always anxious to go away and leave our dog, but we’ll def. be a bit less anxious next time now that we’ve found Leslie!

Once again, Dawn exceeded our expectations with her care for Timber at our house. Despite the frigid temperatures and excessive snow, she was able to get him out for walks and playtime. She also saved the day when an ice dam began leaking water into our home. We cannot thank her enough for all she did for us and especially Timber.

FAQs for House Sitting - Clintondale

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Clintondale on Rover is $49.33 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 745 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Clintondale. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clintondale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clintondale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clintondale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Clintondale. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
