“Claire was *fantastic*! She took incredible care of our menagerie for five nights/6 days: three mid size dogs (50-60lb); two older, each on a number of medications, and a very spunky 5yo. We also have three cats including a frail 15 yo; and 9 hens. We live in an old farmhouse that is in various stages of renovation - for sure, not the easiest for house sitting. Thankfully Claire was undaunted by the challenge. During our time away, she was terrific providing updates and was super quick with replies when I had the additional need to check in- super reassuring, especially give that this was our first time with Rover, and having a combined housesitter/animal sitter at this house. We returned home to a very content crew - the truest sign of being well cared for in our absence, and the house in perfect order- seemingly better than we left it. About: I have had a life long love of animals and have grown up with cats and dogs. In addition I am a long standing volunteer at the SFSPCA, and am trained in dog and cat care. If your pet is shy or out going I know exactly how to work with them. I am a college student with a fairly flexible schedule. As junior my course load is predictable therefor I can work with you to find a convenient care schedule. I am available to walk dogs or care for cats at your home. I have a car and can reliably get to you. When we first meet I would love to spend a little time with your pet and learn your routine in order to make them as comfortable as possible. If you are traveling for an extended period I will gladly send you pictures and keep you posted on what is going on.

While we were away they were putting up pictures of Brie as well as updates as to how things were going. They cleaned the whole house!!!!!! And washed the linens they used. They left a nice note as well as a little treat for me and my husband. We were thrilled with them! And so was Brie! I would highly recommend them!!”

About: I have decades of experience around cats and dogs - in the home and with extended family pets, and then started pet care for others as a teen. Through my teens and 20s I consistently dog sat, did scheduled walks out of others’ homes, or cat play/feed visits. I’ve loved each and every pet: from Great Dane siblings to cats that rule the house and play it cool. I grew up with cats and have long term cared for a Vizsla dog beloved to me, as my own. I have experience with animals that do not get along with other animals, or take a while to get used to humans (I’ve always had an affinity for these guys and allowed them the space and time to grow comfortable with me). I live in Portland, OR but am from the Hudson Valley and back in the area to be closer to my father who is on hospice with a terminal illness. I am reactivating my Rover profile because I am working from my laptop some hours a week here and there (I choose the hours) and spending some time with my father each week. All of my days are flexible and I’d be open to arrangements based on need. An animal to hang with and care for would be really lovely at this time. My days are all flexible. I make my own hours at work and am only working 8-16 hours a week due to being on intermittent FMLA. Several days a week I would be out of the house for portions during the day to spend time with my father in Fishkill, NY. Based on directive and to minimally disrupt their routines and comforts. I adapt easily and I find I have a good energy for animals to adapt to being around me—not forcing anything and just letting them lead the way in terms of their comfort level.

Mateo was absolutely amazing!! Super communicative, he sent lots of pictures and updates. He went above and beyond what was asked of him. He watched my 80lb pit bull and my friend’s 60lb beagle together. We suggested that he walk my dog and just let the other roam in the backyard for a while, per their routines, cause they may be a lot to walk together. Well he walked them both together all 3 days anyway and got them to behave! And that’s huge, my pit can be very reactive toward certain dogs and big trucks, and the beagle likes to do whatever he wants and ignore toh lol. We would definitely book with him again.
