About: I have experience taking care of dogs and cats for families and friends, I know how to read body language and know when I've crossed boundaries. I always have patience for animals. I'm working part time so I have a lot of time available to work with pets, check in on them, and stay with them if needed. I am totally available for overnights, I'm a night owl so I can always check in with a pet and take care of them.
About: If you have an athletic or active dog, we are the hosts for you!!! Trips to parks (on and off leash), running the trails, and swimming in a Lake will happen every day. If your dog is less active, we can bring our activity level to where your dog is most happy and comfortable. I have a very open schedule. Usually I go to the park go with my family who enjoy the day doing things outside the house. If you have a last minute appointment or you need anything on the same day I do take them I have a very open schedule one works in the morning and the other one works in the afternoon so your pet will never be alone. I had pets before they pass away. We used to love our pets so much. We took CPR classes and emergency classes for pets just in case.
“Kristen was lovely! On time and very sweet and patient with my anxious pup. She had nice energy, and comes across as very responsible and caring. I felt confident that my pup was in good hands with Kristen. Will definitely hire her again!”

About: I had two felines for over 15 years but they recently passed away. They were my best friends, but they hated dogs, which brought me to Rover. I love dogs big and small, from german shepherds to a Maltese, I have never had the living situation to have one. I understand the importance of a routine in a dog's life and want to make them as comfortable as possible, especially when their human is not around. I love taking them out to play in the park or snuggling on the couch. Depending on the dog's needs I will take them for a short or long walk. We will make a plan catered to your specific pet. I have experience with giving medicine. I have experience with walking, overnight care, and in-home pups. I've always wanted a dog, let me give yours all the love I have to share. I have a flexible schedule and keep my rover calendar updated! I am an early riser and like to get moving so if you need morning help I am happy to do so. I try not to be out super late so unless I am doing an overnight the latest I'd do a visit it 9pm-10pm. Unfortunately, I can no longer offer home care in my house. For pet parents, I will arrive within the designated time, greet the pet with a warm hello, check the water to make sure it is clean and full, check the food to confirm the amount eaten, take the puppy outside to relieve itself, and/or change the puppy pad if required. Give the dog some good scratches and pats and maybe a treat if available. If the dog wants to play tug-o-war or fetch I'll do some of that too. I would like to tailor the visit to the dog's routine, so as not to cause any undue stress.

“I had an excellent experience with Thomas-James C. He demonstrated great patience and professionalism throughout the process. His communication was outstanding — he consistently provided updates, photos, and detailed feedback after each walk. Despite some initial challenges during the first walk, he remained composed and committed to ensuring my dog’s comfort and safety. My dog responded very well to him, and I was impressed by his dedication and reliability. I would highly recommend his services and will certainly be using them again in the future.”

I follow your pet’s routine closely & I make sure they’re comfortable in their space, following their usual schedule for walks, meals, playtime, and cuddles. About: Aside from growing up with two dogs throughout their puppy and elderly stages of life, I have lots of experience with animals that are not my own. I have a passion for caring for animals of all kinds—to the point where I consider the squirrels that come to my college dorm window my friends! I love helping out the pet owners in my community and often volunteer to watch dogs for free, just because I enjoy it. I have lots of experience with dogs that have special needs (i.e. injuries or medicine), and I take the responsibility of pet care seriously. I approach all animals with the same love and care as if they were my own, and i understand uniquely how worried we can get about our pets when we’re away. Part of my petsitting M.O. is frequent updates (especially photos) to give owners peace of mind. I have a special place in my heart for dogs, but am a lover of all animals and have experience with cats and bunnies as well. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends! I am a college junior currently at home for summer break. I will be taking two vacations in the next few months, but other than that my schedule allows for extremely open and flexible hours! I approach all pets with gentleness and respect, and i make sure to provide ample time for them to get used to my presence before interactions. I follow instructions thoroughly, so detail there is always appreciated, and I like to be in consistent contact with owners in case there are questions, concerns, or updates. I understand strangers can be nerve wracking for pets and their parents, so I do my very best to earn trust and be patient!
“Bruce was very accommodating with the care instructions I left for my two dogs. He was punctual, friendly, and gave them time to get comfortable with him before taking them for their walk. Will rely on him again in the future!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Poughkeepsie
Lauren was, as always, awesome! She showed up on time, kept me perfectly updated, and took our spoiled princess on a walk that clearly made her day. She even made sure there was water and that the queen of the living room was comfy. The whole process was super smooth, and judging by the pictures, my crazy little buddy was absolutely thrilled to be with Lauren 😊

We needed a dog walker on extremely short notice, and Danielle truly came through for us. She was wonderful—kind, accommodating, and professional. She took our dog on a great walk and made sure there was fresh water afterward. Even though it was her first time in our home, everything went smoothly and felt effortless.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
