“Kenisha is the sweetest, most thoughtful soul who gives you peace of mind and goes out of her way to be helpful. Thank you for making it possible for me to enjoy my wedding Kenisha!”
“Destiny was a great sitter for my aging pup. She kept me well informed as to what they were doing, her walks, play and rest. She followed my instructions, sent photos and responded to any questions I had while away. My house was clean and well cared for, too. My dog, who usually gets very sad when I'm away, was happy and her regular self when I returned. I would definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was a young girl. From working in pet stores, to boarding places, dog walking and sitting watching/walking friends and families pets. I started vet school but having children I had to put it on pause for now. I know to give medication, prepare meals bathe and so on. My love for animals is very strong and I’ll treat them just like my own . I’m currently working part time at a day care so which I have mornings and evenings open to take care of them and the weekend are available to watch your pets. I have a full fence in yard which is safe for your dogs to go out to use the potty and play. Inside is a safe environment as well with lots of love and playtime . We do have a older cat , a Guinea pig and a rat terrier who loves other dogs and cats.
“Katherine is amazing! She is a loving caregiver who immediately bonded with my cat and my dog. My cat is often wary, but could immediately sense her loving presence. Katherine is also incredibly responsible, mature and responsive - from responding to texts, understanding my needs, and leaving my house in better shape than she found it. It is a gift to find someone who allows me to relax and not worry about a thing while I’m away - that is my experience with Katherine!”

About: I’ve taken care of pit bulls, golden retrievers, and tabby cats! Entrusted by friends and family with their pets, I’ve learned that I have a great affinity for animals (maybe more than I do for people) I currently work evenings at a restaurant, and I’m searching for daytime employment as we speak. In the meantime, I’m open to daytime supervision of animals as well as overnights after work. I have a fenced-in yard and a very docile and friendly golden retriever. She’s 11 and gets along with every animal she meets. When taking care of a pet at client’s homes, I prioritize leaving it in the same or better condition than I found it.
About: Growing up with cats and various household pets, and loving dogs all my life has lead me to care and appreciate pets into my adult life. Looking to take care of the ones who love us the most for you. I am currently a full time music educator during the weekdays so I am available after school to walk and pet sit on an hourly basis. On Fridays and weekends I am also available for over night care as needed. In your home I will abide by all rules and routines you may have already. I can also ensure consistent care and attention to your pet’s needs.
About: Dogs are my world! I care for five of my own, groom, train, and teach tricks. I love dog sitting for friends and family, making sure every pup gets playtime, belly rubs, and lots of love. From wiggly puppies to wise seniors, I keep tails wagging and spirits high! Pet care is a natural part of my daily and weekly routine. I care for my own dogs every day through feeding, walking, grooming, playtime, and basic training. I also regularly dog sit for family , so I’m used to planning my schedule around pets and making sure they get consistent attention, exercise, and care. The pups I watch will have their own cozy space in my room with a fun playpen and lots of toys! They’ll get plenty of love, attention, and playtime. My own dogs stay downstairs, but if the owner is okay, their pup can safely hang out and play with my friendly fur babies. Every dog gets a happy, safe, and tail-wagging environment while in my care!
“We hired Jocelyn to housesit our dog Arthur and she was fantastic! She was a great communicator from start to finish, sent us lots of photos, and went the extra mile to ensure he was well taken care of during our trip. She also left our house exactly as it was when we left and was a gracious guest. We would absolutely book her again!”

“Tatiana looked after our dog Delilah whilst we were in England for a week. She did a truly wonderful job- taking great care of Delilah and of our house and kept in touch with the loveliest photos and videos. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

About: I have always had dogs since I was younger and I've loved taking care of them all, and including them in my family! Ginger was terrific taking care of our older dog while we were away for 10 days. She spent a lot of time with him during the day and slept over at night. We felt very comfortable with Ginger in our home. She had to administer his meds twice a day and also put on and remove his elbow cover . Would definitely use her again!

Briana was absolutely great! On time and attentive to all our wishes, Jax was so well cared for, Briana gave me updates with pictures which it was very important and appreciated. We came home to a happy pup, It was a great relief to know our boy was in good hands!

Rocelyn did an amazing, attentive job watching my dog, Mia. She followed all of my many instructions, and Mia got lots of snuggles and playtime. I have a lot of anxiety leaving Mia, but Rocelyn’s check-ins really made me feel at ease. I’d love to have her watch Mia again anytime. Thank you, Rocelyn!

After communicating with a few different housesitters on this platform, Katlyn seemed to be the most responsible and reliable one. She was very friendly, easy to talk to and Jäger took to her immediately. We felt comfortable leaving her in our home to take care of our 8 year golden retriever for a little over a week. Katlyn texted and sent pics every day- they hung out at the house, played in the yard and went out for walks/hikes. Pics were great- brought a smile to our face every single time:) Katlyn was also very accommodating with a few little changes in the schedule. We felt very fortunate to have her care for our home and our dog. Will definitely like to hire her again in the future! Val Schuermann

Makenzi was amazing! She watched our two dogs while we were away for a week, and it was so reassuring to know our dogs were in such great hands! Makenzi sent us pictures and updates throughout our trip, which we loved to see their pictures!! We’re so glad to have met her and to have her watch our dogs again for our next trip!

Wendy was fantastic! She watched our two large hounds for seven hours and took incredible care of them. She was responsible, caring, and kept us fully in the loop with texts, updates, and amazing photos. We felt totally at ease knowing they were in such great hands. Highly recommend!

Kayla was a sweet and conscientious dog sitter who made me feel so comfortable leaving my dog. She was an effective communicator, flexed her schedule to accommodate unexpected travel schedules and took perfect care of my dog and home. I would hire Kayla again and again and highly recommend her.

I am incredibly grateful to Stephanie for taking such wonderful care of my dog (Marco) during e two and a half week that she stayed at my house. As of July 2026, there are 3,431 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Norwalk. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Norwalk walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Norwalk maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norwalk choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
