“Tara is great! We have used her twice now and hopefully she will always be available when i go out of town going forward. My dog loves her so much and misses her once she’s gone. She provides many updates and photos. It’s nice to have someone at home that I can trust and that my pets trust too!”

“Jen was absolutely fantastic! We did a house sitting and she was extremely conscientious and communicative. Dusty is a high energy, rascal of a dog and she was so great with him. I can't recommend her enough!”

“My dog just went through a few stressful events that has made him very anxious around strangers but he was very comfortable with Joe. We did a meet and greet before booking he did not show signs of anxiousness; in fact he took to Joe immediately licking him on his face. Joe then watched him all day on back to back days over the weekend which went very well. My dog was relaxed all day and did not have any issues. Joe is very flexible, priced extremely reasonable and I look forward to using him again in the future.”

“Stephanie was incredibly caring, communicative, and organized while taking care of our cat and dog for the weekend. She made sure our nervous pup felt safe throughout the weekend and gave us really helpful updates. Would absolutely have Stephanie stay with them again!”

“Gabby was attentive and caring for my Siberian Husky for the time I was gone. She sent daily updates that put my mind at ease, and loved him like one of her own.”

About: I’ve had experience with dogs of all ages and sizes. From quick walks to overnight care I have a flexible schedule. Im open to special needs pups and patience for the puppies. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule. I have the capacity to work around you with reasonable time. Im also available weekends for in home care at your home or mine. I live in a pet friendly apartment building. We have grass areas, a dog park and dog wash station. I can stay in your home or your pet can stay in mine. I want your pup to feel comfortable and can hang out on my couch, or I can crate if you prefer.
“Cotter was great with our two dogs! He helped us out in a crunch over the holiday weekend, was extremely responsive and provided a ton of updates. Our dogs were very comfortable with him, we will definitely be using him again in the future. Thank you Cotter!”

About: I have cared for multiple dog, cat, and rabbit breeds. Friends and family have relied on me numerous times to care for their pets for extended periods of time (days-weeks), including walks, baths, feeding, grooming, and overall patience with their furry family member. I will stick to the same routine you have for your pet as to not further stress the animal. I offer drop-ins, and dog walks! 🐾Walks are usually between 30-60 minutes in your neighborhood. 🐈 Litter box will be cleaned and they’ll have good company, even if they don’t come out I’ll stay just to make sure they’re safe and not getting into trouble. Please let me know if your pet has any medical issues/ special diets. I am experienced with elderly pets and can administer topical treatments as well as oral/fluid medication. You will get updates while I am with your pet, expect pictures and notes. If anything out of the ordinary occurs you will be contacted immediately (if you’re not available please leave another emergency contact that lives close by) I am free most days of the week, and I am currently very flexible. ‼️‼️For house sitting I cannot sleep over but I can stay all day! I usually go to the client’s home to care for the pet as I live with my parents still. I make sure bowls are washed after every meal, treats are given, litter is clean and ensure the pet is comfortable (even in their own home because a new person may cause stress). I’m an early riser and a night owl so morning and night walks are easy (so is breakfast and dinner), and I love being outside.
“Kevin was amazing!! He took care of our new puppy when we unexpectedly adopted and had an international trip coming up. Couldn’t have asked for someone to take better care of our pup!”

“Maria was an excellent pet sitter. We were out of town for a few days and Maria stayed with our two dogs and a cat. The house looked great and the animals were cared for and happy on our return. We will book Maria again. Thank you!”

“Isabelle took excellent care of our dog while we were away on vacation. She communicated often throughout her stay and made sure our little guy was well taken care of. We'll definitely be requesting her services again!”

“Alex is a superb, very professional dog sitter. He clearly loves animals and puts them immediately at ease-- he also left our house neat and tidy as though no one had been here. Didn't think twice about the safety of our very large dogs in his care, highly recommend!”

About: What sets me apart is the genuine love, patience, and attention I give to every dog in my care. I understand that each dog has a unique personality and needs, and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved—just like they would at home. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, including playful puppies who need extra attention, consistency, and basic training reinforcement, as well as senior dogs who require patience, gentle care, and close monitoring. I’m reliable, attentive, and detail-oriented. I follow routines carefully, whether that includes feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, or simply providing companionship. I also keep pet parents updated with messages and photos, so they feel confident and at ease while away. For me, pet care is more than a job—it’s something I truly enjoy and care about. 🐾 Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I truly enjoy spending time with animals. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide consistent care, attention, and companionship throughout the day. I make time for walks, feeding, playtime, and any specific care each pet may need, always making sure they feel comfortable and well cared for. I’m also organized and reliable, so following routines, schedules, and special instructions is something I take seriously. Caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy, and I love creating a safe, loving, and calm environment for them. 🐾 I provide attentive, loving, and reliable care in my client’s home, always making sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and relaxed in their familiar environment. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walks, medication, routines, and any special needs. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship, as well as calm time when needed. I also respect the client’s home by keeping everything clean, organized, and as it was when I arrived. I pay close attention to details and make sure pets are well cared for at all times. My goal is to give pets the same love and care they would receive from their owners, so they feel happy and secure while their family is away. 🐾
“Jason was fantastic with my pups. He was aware of how to interact with them, seemed to enjoy walking them, feed them as directed and walked them as requested. I am very happy and pups seem to be also.”

“We had an amazing experience having Kayla house sit and watch our 3 miniature dachshunds, which can definitely be a handful at times. She quickly responded to all messages, carefully followed all instructions, sent lots of pictures, and left the house in perfect condition. I really appreciated how she seemed to actually enjoy spending time with our pups. I highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Sarah - was amazing! Our two dogs were so happy with her and were so happy when we got home. In addition, she was unexpectedly snowed in with them and took wonderful care of them and the house. We will be using her again and if anyone needs a personal recommendation, we are more than happy to endorse Sarah!”

“Jillian was great! She was quick to reach and easy to work with. Came to meet and greet with our girls(Sadie and Minnie). Kept lines of communication open at all times. It was a great relief to know our pets were home being well cared for and safe! 10/10 recommend!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Danbury
Maria was outstanding! She stayed in our home while we were away to watch our 4 year old Yellow lab--the house was left in great shape, and most importantly, our dog Callie was well taken care of. Long walks, meals, pictures and videos of activities...you name it, Maria covered all of it. Maria was very communicative throughout the whole stay which put our mind at ease while on vacation, and was extremely professional. Don't even give a second thought about booking Maria; she's the best and we would absolutely have her back to take care of our dog.

Kayla took great care of our house and pets while we were away for 12 days! It was clear when we got home that our dog and cat had been treated exceptionally well. Kayla was very responsible and left everything clean and orderly. We plan to hire her again next time we go away!

Jennifer took great care of our dogs, Mochi and Hana. She left our place exactly as she found it, which is much appreciated! We got photos multiple times a day and great communication. She listened, made sure the girls were comfortable and stayed on their schedule, and handled everything so we could enjoy our taime away!

Jenn has been our Layla’s BFF since she first walked into our house. The connection is so beautiful. This was the first time since we adopted our pup that we’ve gone on a “proper” vacation, and I really don’t know if we could have done it without knowing what capable hands she was in. Jenn remains communicative, responsive, responsible, kind and caring. She will always be our first choice to take care of our sweet girl. When we arrived back home after 10 days, Layla was over-the-moon happy, but kept checking on Jenn because she wanted her to be a big part of our “family reunion”…. That spoke Volumes. So grateful.
Isabelle is responsive, professional, friendly, and my dogs love her!! She responded quickly to my initial inquiry, was accommodating in our pre-meet, asked all the right questions to understand our preferences, and then communicated updates regularly during her visits. She exemplifies professionalism but with a warmth that makes us very comfortable entrusting her with our beloved furr babies. I cannot recommend her enough!!

Jordan has been great with our Hallie! She’s cared for her a couple of times now, and each time we’ve felt completely at ease. She's dependable, communicative, and mindful of Hallie's needs - while also being respectful of our home. It's such a comfort to know that Hallie is in such capable and caring hands!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Danbury on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 2,136 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Danbury. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Danbury walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Danbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Danbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
