“Sarah saved my behind! She was able to come last minute and spend some time with my dog during the day. He was able to get his exercise and a some cuddles as well. Thank you!”

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats since I could walk, so caring for animals has always felt second nature. I also volunteer as a dog walker, socializer, and trainer at Danbury Animal Welfare Society, where I work with dogs of different temperaments, energy levels, and needs. My style is calm, patient, and attentive, whether your dog needs a real exercise walk, your cat needs a quiet check-in, or your older pet just needs someone gentle and consistent. I know trusting someone with your pet and your home is a big deal, so I take reliability seriously. I’ll show up when I say I will, pay attention to your pet’s routine, and send clear updates so you know they’re safe, happy, and cared for. I currently work full time, but my evenings and weekends are often free. I’m a good fit for weekend walks, evening check-ins, drop-in visits, and occasional pet care when your regular routine needs extra support. Because I value reliability, I only accept bookings I know I can show up for fully and on time. I pay close attention to each pet’s body language, comfort level, routines, and boundaries, and I never force interactions with people, dogs, or unfamiliar situations. For walks, I keep dogs securely leashed, avoid unsafe areas, and adjust the pace to the dog’s age, energy, and temperament. I’m comfortable with shy, anxious, energetic, and older pets, and I believe patience and consistency go a long way. For drop-ins, I’ll respect your home, follow your instructions carefully, check food, water, litter, doors, and gates, and send clear updates so you know how your pet is doing.
“I rebooked Diana’s service. Again she took care of our cat carefully. She always spent sometime with our cat. It seems she has an ability to let Kuma, our cat open and close to her and show the sweet side. Thank you for letting our travel more relaxed without worrying Kuma alone at home.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life! My family and then myself have adopted and taken care of dogs and cats of all ages but more recently, I have adopted senior dogs and taken care of all their needs. I work at Western Connecticut with lots of flexibility in my schedule! I’m usually available to come and go during the day if needed and only live a few minutes from work. The complex I live in is very dog friendly! I had my dog with there until she passed. There are lots of designated dog walking areas, dog grooming and wash rooms.
About: I have been called Dr. Dolittle my entire life. I have a knack for connecting with animals of all kinds. My very first job was working at a local farm with all different types of animals like horses, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, etc. It was one of my favorite jobs, I got lucky! I also worked at a dog boarding facility which gave me experience working with multiple dogs at once. I always give animals the space to have their specific personality and the respect they deserve, as I would treat a human. Animals are often misunderstood, I’ve always tried to meet them where they stand. If there is one thing I am confident in, it’s making an animal feel safe and comfortable. And they do the same for me :) I would love to meet your faithful friend and see if they find me worthy of a tail wag or a belly pet! I currently work a very flexible part-time job. I have a lot of availability and can be very flexible. Working with animals is more than a job to me, I very much enjoy it. I will find ways to work with you and your pets personal needs. I love to schedule a meet-up before providing pet care. This is just to see that we are all on the same page and everyone feels it's a good fit. I do not offer home services. I will travel to your home so your pet can be where they are most comfortable. I work around you and your pets comfort. As a pet owner myself, I understand it can be hard to leave your companions in someone else’s care. I want to do what it takes to make you feel 100% safe and at ease when leaving your furbabies in my care.
“Rhea was absolutely wonderful with my cat while I was away! She visited twice a day, sent me lots of adorable pictures, and always left little notes with updates. She spoiled him with extra playtime and treats, and I could tell he was so happy and comfortable in her care. It gave me such peace of mind knowing he was in such loving hands. I would definitely book with Rhea again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter!”

“Tara is the best! She has watched our cats many times now and takes such good care of them. I can tell she really enjoys spending time with them and giving them the attention they need while we’re away. We know we don’t have to worry about the cats while we’re away because they’re in good hands!”

“Tinaclem was awesome! Annie is my “dogter” and I am extremely careful about where I leave her. From the beginning, I felt comfortable with Tinaclem, her family and her backyard 😍. Annie has a great time at her relaxation escape! I got daily updates, she went on walks, and kissed Tinaclem goodbye. I am so grateful I found someone trustworthy to watch her in the Danbury area … now I just need someone for my human daughter 😂. I full heartedly recommend Tinaclem! Thank you!!”

“Linda came to the rescue for a last minute work trip and helped keep my kitty in a routine. I could tell from our meet & greet that my anxious rescue loved her. Linda is an animal lover first and foremost, but also an experienced sitter who will ask all the right questions to make sure your pet is fed, played with, and cared for. She sent lots of pictures and detailed updates throughout my trip, giving me complete peace of mind. Can’t recommend her enough!!!”

“Isabelle is a special caregiver. We hired her. To help care for our 2 German Shepherds, one of which is recovering from brain surgery to remove a tumor. With that, her and her partner have provided amazing care and shown love , compassion and patience to our guy. I highly recommend her if you need someone to provide that extra level of support.”

About: I’ve taken care of people’s pets over the past 15 years happily and willingly. Building a connection with them so they feel safe while you are away is a priority! I also work with kids, so I spend my time taking care of others loved ones every single day! I am currently off of work for the summer. I am doing very part time work during the week- so before or after that is when I am available! I am also open weekends I am no stranger to getting to know the ins and outs of others routines, habits, and schedules. I will happily follow along with what works best for you and your pets

Lily cared for my kitty, also named Lily while I was out of town. My kitty needed medication twice a day, and Lily did a great job of making sure all doses were administered as needed. I was able to relax without worry. Lily was kind enough to even water my outdoor plants during the heatwave. I truly appreciate her help, she is very responsible, provided great feedback, followed all directions, is very nice and flexible. I highly recommend Lily as a sitter for your beloved pet.

Autumn is an amazing cat sitter. She is reliable, caring, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Our cat was happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for when we got home. She kept us updated, paid attention to the little details, and treated our pet like her own. We would absolutely recommend Autumn to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tori did a fantastic job pet sitting for us while we were away last week. Our kitties were happy and well cared for, and we came home to a house that was spotless—which I REALLY appreciated, especially since I’m very particular about litter being tracked around!! 😜 She was reliable, attentive, and clearly took great care of both our pets and our home. We felt totally at ease while we were away and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!

Kayla was truly phenomenal taking care of our cats. She was on time for every appointment and very communicative each day. She even got one of our cats, who never comes out for strangers, to come out for the visit and ensure she was cared for. We are very happy with Kayla and would absolutely book her in the future.
Jamie was excellent with our 2 cats while we were away for 2 weeks. He came for daily visits to care for their needs and provided us with updates and pictures after each visit. This is at least our fifth time using Jamie and Danae and we would highly recommend them.

Will is kind, communicative, punctual and trustworthy. He was great taking care of my pets and I wouldn’t hesitate to have him again. I felt great knowing he was taking care of them when I was far away traveling. I’d highly recommend his services to anyone in need of a great pet sitter.

Margaux was so great at dropping in to check on our cat, Danny, while we were away. She gave comprehensive report cards and diligently followed directions given. On top of that, she asked thoughtful questions about our pet that indicated she truly understood and cared about animals. We would love to have Margaux care for our Danny again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
