“excellent. Rich has intuition about dogs and what's going on with them. My pup was the smallest of all his guests. She's feisty and was a little shy but did great. Thanks, Rich.”

“Nicole is absolutely the best! Not only is she warm, welcoming, and very accommodating, her veterinary experience and obvious love of dogs assures us that Bluebelle is in the very best hands. Her daily updates and pictures keep us posted on the great time Blue is having with Nicole and her family in their very dog-friendly home and backyard. The best endorsement of all, though, is Blue's excitement and crazy tail-wagging when we mention Nicole's name! Five stars doesn't begin to say enough!!”

“Thalya did an amazing job taking care of our 3-year-old dog, Lucky Oreo. She was incredibly responsive, sending regular updates that kept us reassured and informed. Her loving care and attention made all the difference, and Lucky Oreo was clearly happy and well looked after. We highly recommend Thalya for her exceptional pet-sitting services!”

“Simba was well cared for when he was with Lucienne. She was flexible and easy to communicate with. I would recommend her to others looking for someone to board their furry friend(s).”

“My dog had a great time with Jennifer, Thomas and their kids. They’ shared photos of her getting petted on the couch and going on walks. She was exhausted when she came home after having had a very fun day with this lovely family.”

“Gretchen took excellent care of my dog while I was away. He seemed very happy during his stay. I also received daily photos and updates about how he was doing. I'll definitely use Gretchen's services again.”

About: I have been grooming dogs for over 18 years, and boarding clients' pups in my home for 16 years. My 13 yr old homeschooled son and I adore all dogs. We have 2 wonderful medium sized girls (Myla 8, Josie 1.5) who love all dogs and people! My career in grooming means I truly 'speak dog' and understand their quirks and needs. I have extensive experience with all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I'm comfortable administering oral and injectible medications, as well as supplements. Our dogs eat a raw diet, so food & water bowls get sterilized after each meal. Since we homeschool, we spend a lot of time at home or close by with friends. My son often has friends over who love to play with dogs. This means we have a great balance of calm & quiet time, as well as active & fun time. Our lovely property has Invisible Fence for about a acre, so any dogs trained on it get to enjoy lots of untethered play time. Every dog who stays gets a temporary ID tag with my address and phone number in case of accidental 'escape' We love couch cuddles, and both of our girls sleep in bed with my son. We also have dog beds everywhere, and crates & gates available when needed.
“Ryan EXCEEDED my expectations! He has an intuitive way with dogs. He is very knowledgable about dogs & dog behavior. Ryan is the real deal-- a true animal lover & kind, decent human being. He communicated well with pics and updates during my dog's visit. During our initial meeting I felt an instant rapport he had with my dog that put me at ease. His home is VERY dog-centric! The visiting dogs are not confined and are free to mingle and find their own place to relax. There are ample dog beds, couches, human beds and floor space for lounging and sleeping. I especially appreciate that Ryan limits the number of dogs he boards at one time to a very small group, & makes sure they vibe well together beforehand. The living space Ryan and his boarders occupy is all on one level, which is great for my dog with arthritis. There is a wooded trail for walks adjoining the yard, and a guest bedroom if a dog needs some quiet alone time. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and I plan to use him again!”

“Odie had a wonderful stay with Maryline and her family. It was evident that he was treated as part of the family. Maryline was easy to contact and shared amazing photos of Odie's visit. She made our holiday travel stress free knowing Odie was in good hands.”

About: Since childhood, I have assisted my grandfather in caring for his dogs. Subsequently, I have been responsible for the care of cats since my teenage years. I aspire to attain a stage in my life where I can acquire my own pets. As a DoorDash and Instacart driver, I am prepared to provide any level of care your beloved pet may require. I am flexible with my schedule to accommodate the care of your pet. My significant other occasionally assists with the owner’s permission in caring for certain animals. Having grown up in a household with cats, he has adopted my approach to dog care. I assist my parents with their elderly cat. I have experience with dogs since middle school, having had family dogs. I have experience providing medical care as necessary.
“Rosemarie was wonderful! She offered us a meet and greet where I was able to clearly recognize her understanding of not just my dogs needs, but of dog behavior in general. When I left on my trip I felt totally confident that she wouldn’t care for them with like they were her own. She has a large fenced in yard and a lovely clean dedicated space for her canine guests. Communication was excellent! I appreciated getting pictures of my two Cavaliers enjoying their time with Miss Rosemarie. They are spoiled little critters… but it was not an issue. I will not hesitate to book with her again!”

“Wanda was fantastic! Always quick to respond and showed genuine care for my dog. She spent a lot of time playing with and exercising Cooper. I highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Lily was super accommodating and shared lots of photo of our puppy while we were away. Gracie-May seemed to have lots of fun staying with Lily and co. Many thanks!”

“Both of my dogs love going to Gabe’s and I feel comfortable knowing they are well taken care of while being there. It’s wonderful to see how excited they get when we pull into the driveway. Gabe truly enjoys taken care of dogs and does a great job at it. His communication during their stays are great. He sends pictures and updates which is always nice to receive. I would definitely recommend Gabe if you’re looking for a place to board your pups”

“Kyle was great with my dog Kipo. Very professional about making sure the dogs he hosts are compatible and get along. We would definitely have her stay with Kyle again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stormville
We have three dogs, all very different. Steve understands each of them and interacts with them accordingly. So, they all love him. He’s got a nice big fenced property, lots of playtimes, and sends us cute pictures and videos every day. In short, he treats our dogs like they were his. And because of this, we were able to drop the dogs off with him, go on vacation, and not worry for one second.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
