“Sue was great. Really patient and accommodating. My pup was returned to me happy and healthy. Her husband was also very nice and they both seemed very confident and comfortable with my pup who’s a 48lb pittie. Thank you Sue and Franky. We appreciated your care and attention to our fur baby. Sue also sent regular selfies of the pup and was quick to reply to messages.”

“Once again Nicole took great care of Lulu while we are on vacation. Lulu is also on vacation at Nicole’s place, playing with her dogs as well as with others! We have a peace of mind whenever Nicole boards Lulu. Thanks Nicole!”

“Our dogs had a wonderful stay with Jessica and Ian. They were well cared for and we will definitely use them in the future when we have to board our dogs.”

“We were extremely happy with our experience! Ryan was knowledgeable and attentive to our dog. We received many updates and pictures while we were away which we really appreciated. He was even willing to bathe him after a run in with a mud puddle. 😅 We’ll definitely be repeat customers.”

“I would definitely recommend Brittany to anyone that needs boarding for their pets. She treated our puppy Storm like she was one of her own. She sent us pictures of Storm having a great time and assured us that she was playing the entire time she was there. When we picked her up she was clearly happy and exhausted. We will definitely be using Brittany again in the future.”

About: Ever since I was young, I have had a strong love for animals, especially dogs. I grew up surrounded by dogs and currently have two of my own. Over the years, I have pet-sat for neighbors and friends, and I always enjoy caring for and spending time with their pets. At college I am part of a club where we work with and volunteer at the local animal shelters. There are photos on my profile that highlight some of the events on campus I have volunteered at to raise money for the puppies at the local animal shelter. I do also have experience with horses. My experience has strengthened my passion for working with animals and reinforced my commitment to providing them with attentive, compassionate care. I currently have a lot of availability to be able to take care of your pets. I can board and attend to your pets any day of the week. I have a fenced-in backyard and two dogs of my own as well. I have a 10-month-old male English Bulldog and a 3-year-old female French Bulldog. They are both very friendly and love playing with other dogs. At your residence, I will respect any boundaries you may have and provide the best service I can.
“5/5 stars! Best Rover experience by far. I am so happy my pups were happy, safe, and treated with love by Samantha and Michael! They made the whole experience easy and stress-free.”

“Marie was so wonderful to Madison (!!!!). Although I was far away, they kept me updated with pictures and texts along the way. I appreciate all that Marie does and couldn't ask for a better sitter.”

“Kyle was great! He kept his word regarding caring for our 2 dogs on a holiday weekend. He evaluated for a good fit prior to committing just as we did for a sitter. He was not only comfortable with my very large dog but, understood their behaviors. He provided updates and was extremely easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend.”

“Jillian was the best, so patient and great with Bella. I ended up running late to pick her up and got caught in a thunderstorm. Bella is terrified by thunder, but Jillian was chill and stuck with her. Wouldn’t hesitate to ask Jillian to watch Bella again!”

“Cory was a great host for Henny. Her dogs were friendly and she was super communicative! She sent lots of photos and videos which helped soothe my pet parent anxiety. Would definitely book with her again”

“We had a great experience with Kate! Our dog, Sampson, stayed in her home and was very well cared for. Communication was easy and consistent, and we felt completely comfortable knowing our pup was in good hands. Sampson is pretty easygoing, but it was clear he was treated with attention and kindness. We will definitely book with them again.”

“I was so glad to have found Mary Ann on Rover to watch our dog Piper for 2 weeks while we were on vacation. On our initial visit with Mary Ann, I knew this was a great fit for Piper. She is such a sweet, caring, knowledgeable woman that I knew would take wonderful care of my dog. This was the first time using Rover as I was not comfortable leaving her in a kennel again for this long as my dog gets very anxious and sad when we are away and my usual in house dog sitter was with us on vacation. Mary Ann lives just 10 minutes from my house with a lovely fenced in side yard for her to go to the bathroom outside and just run around not being on a leash, which is just like home. Also being able to jump on the furniture and the beds was a plus too, again just like home. And she did not have any issues getting too anxious which is what I was hoping for. It was a perfect fit and a great find. I would not hesitate to book with Mary Ann again.”

“My dog had a great time with Jennifer, Thomas and their kids. They’ shared photos of her getting petted on the couch and going on walks. She was exhausted when she came home after having had a very fun day with this lovely family.”

“We had such a great experience with Jennifer who care of our dog, Daisy, for almost a week. Jennifer was very communicative throughout the week - keeping us updated throughout our trip with thoughtful messages and plenty of photos showing Daisy relaxed, happy, and clearly enjoying her time with Jennifer and her family. It gave us real peace of mind knowing Daisy was in such caring and capable hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jennifer again—highly recommended!”

“We are truly grateful to Lily for the loving care she gave to our little dog, Kodi. During Kodi's stay with Lily, she sent us daily pictures & videos of our pet. Clearly, he had a fantastic time with Lily & her lovely family. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness of her daily communications with us & all the care she gave to our little pet. Lily's an outstanding care taker.”

“Absolute peace of mind through the entire experience. This was only the third time with a sitter and second boarding my Whiskey dog overnight; but never have I felt as content as when he was with Judy, her wonderful family & beautiful home. Was able to completely enjoy my vacation knowing he was cared for as one of her own. I really can’t thank her enough for what that contentment was worth to me. To top it off she’s so nice!! Had pushed the date forward a day at the last minute, she was totally understanding and went with the flow. Just thank you!!!! I know Whiskey dog misses his new friends already =^_^=”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
