“Rosemarie watched our dog Stella for one week while we were away on vacation. We had a wonderful meet and greet prior to our departure. It went really well, we felt so comfortable with Rosemarie and her family. She has such a wonderful home snd nice fenced in yard for the dogs to play. Stella adapted to Rosemarie and her family very easily. On the day we dropped off Stella, she was very excited to see Rosemarie, her dog Romeo and the family. It gave us peace of mind to know Stella was in such great care. Throughout our time away, Rosemarie sent us pictures and updates every day. It was great to see Stella having a great time and being so well taken care of. Without any doubt we would definitely recommend Rosemarie to anyone who needs pet boarding & sitting for both short and long periods of time. We will definitely use Rosemarie again to care for Stella.”

“I had a great experience with Maria. It’s evident that she and her family truly love animals based on how well they cared for my cat, Pumpkin. Maria also responds quickly and happily sent photos showing Pumpkin as happy and healthy, which I really appreciate. 10/10 I will be booking again! Thanks Maria!”

“Our boxer, Daisy, stayed with Valerie while we vacationed for a week in Florida. Valerie and her family were great from the start, not only with Daisy but also entertaining my eight year old son when we arrived for an introductory visit. They had plenty of room for Daisy to run around and two playful but well behaved dogs of their own that accepted Daisy in. Valerie provided updates during the week to let us know how Daisy was adapting and getting along with everyone and how much her family loved having her. She was also extremely flexible with drop off and pick up times knowing our hectic travel schedule. The next time we go away for an extended period, Valerie is definitely my first contact attempt.”
“Donna was great. She treated my dog like he was her own. I felt extremely confident that Guinness was being very well taken care of. Guinness came home very happy but tired from all the fun he had playing with Donna's dogs. I will definitely use Donna and her services again. I'm very happy. I found her thank you so much.”

About: I currently own two dogs a mini Australian Shepard and a cocker spaniel. But, my family is a huge dog loving family and I have also owned labs, retrievers, and collies. I have a fenced backyard with a doggy door that holds about an acre of land and I live on a very quiet road with hiking trails across from my house that I bring my dogs into all the time! I’m work 3 times a week at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury. I can leave during my breaks to tend to your pets. If they are staying at my home I have a doggy door and fenced in backyard. And then the remainder of the week I am free! I have a doggy door inside my home with a fenced in backyard for the 3 days I can’t be at home all day long. All other days I would love to take the dogs hiking and make sure they have a great time! I do own two dogs that are very friendly. But they can also be seperated into my basement if other dog is not friends with them. I also have a lot of experience with cat sitting my neighbors cats.

“Natasha and Hamir took such great care of Minnie! They are so sweet and clearly very knowledgeable about dogs and are “dog people.” My dog was instantly comfortable when she met them, which put me at ease. They really treated Minnie like their own and kept me updated while I was away. We will definitely be back. Thanks for everything!”

“I had a last minute request and Jomini responded almost immediately and saved the day. She asked questions to make sure my dog had the proper precautions to be outdoors at her place and checked with me about any specific schedule before drop off. She was super responsive and flexible with timing for drop off / pick up. She sent so many pictures of my dog and I could see he was having a great time!”

“Gretchen took excellent care of my dog while I was away. He seemed very happy during his stay. I also received daily photos and updates about how he was doing. I'll definitely use Gretchen's services again.”

“First thing- Meghan was great! Finn states with her fior 4 nights and I couldn’t have asked for more out of a sitter. She communicated well with us during his stay and is overall a very kind, responsible sitter. I will (and I’m sure Finn) be looking forward to booking with her in the future!”
“Julia is excellent. It is the first time that I accessed the Rover page and when I saw Julia's profile I was very interested, then my family and I visited her and we were calm knowing that our dog was going to be with her for more than a month. Julia took care of our Corgi in her home for 40 days and it was the best experience for both our dog and us. Julia regularly sent us photos and kept us up to date with the news of our pet during that time when we had to leave her with her. I wholeheartedly recommend Julia who, in addition to fully integrating our dog into her home, gave him love and an unforgettable summer. I'm sure that when we need her help again we can count on her to take care of Chipie as if she were us. Thankyou so much.”

“I’m hesitant to write a review because I hope for her to be available in the future ;) Kathrine is exactly the kind of person I was hoping to find to watch our pup. She’s a clear communicator, calm, kind and gives our dog the exercise and care that she needs. I’m so grateful to have found her :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Holmes
Our Josie had a great time at Tina's house! The entire family was welcoming and loving towards her, and she came home 'happy tired' from the evening and day of play. They have a huge fenced yard, and Josie was able to run to her heart's content with their dog - and my only hope is that she's not lonely at our house now! Tina sent a cute picture of the dogs together, and that was so comforting to receive while we were away. This was our first time leaving our furbaby with anyone, but the meet and greet we did with Tina in advance immediately put our minds at rest, and the overnight stay just confirmed our initial good feeling. We will definitely be booking Tina for overnight stays again, and would recommend her to anyone looking for great care for their dog!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
