“I have always been very happy with Maria watching our dogs. I have used her any time we go on vacation and my daughter is a regular customer now too. The thing I like best ( and my dogs like too) is this is not a kennel- it’s a home that they become part of the family. My dogs never liked kennels and became very upset whenever I brought them to one. At Maria’s they jumped out of the car and were happy to be there - like visiting a relative home. I’m very glad I found Maria and most of all my dogs are very glad too!”

“What a wonderful home away from home for Tilly ! We were in a last minute crunch and Rosemarie responded instantly as we had a very short timeframe in which to find a booking. Her previous reviews had me feeling very comfortable in my frantic search when I was in need of a safe place for Tilly. Boy did we get way more than that! We received daily pictures, videos and messages and could see that this was indeed the absolute perfect placement for her. A fenced in yard to run freely and some company on the couch was an added bonus for sure! Our number one priority was only for her safety during her stay and we certainly could not have asked for anything more. We truly hit the jackpot and our family will be calling on Rosemarie again when we find the need. Her care, communication and flexibility are huge assets and we never had a single worry about the level of care being given; it was both exceptional and above and beyond ! Tilly no doubt will be returning !”

“We were so lucky to find Lily! Their family was absolutely gracious and Mio had a blast! Lily provided plenty of photos and we felt confident leaving him in good hands. We will 100% book again! Thank you Lily!”

“Our boxer, Daisy, stayed with Valerie while we vacationed for a week in Florida. Valerie and her family were great from the start, not only with Daisy but also entertaining my eight year old son when we arrived for an introductory visit. They had plenty of room for Daisy to run around and two playful but well behaved dogs of their own that accepted Daisy in. Valerie provided updates during the week to let us know how Daisy was adapting and getting along with everyone and how much her family loved having her. She was also extremely flexible with drop off and pick up times knowing our hectic travel schedule. The next time we go away for an extended period, Valerie is definitely my first contact attempt.”
“Donna was great. She treated my dog like he was her own. I felt extremely confident that Guinness was being very well taken care of. Guinness came home very happy but tired from all the fun he had playing with Donna's dogs. I will definitely use Donna and her services again. I'm very happy. I found her thank you so much.”

About: I currently own two dogs a mini Australian Shepard and a cocker spaniel. But, my family is a huge dog loving family and I have also owned labs, retrievers, and collies. I have a fenced backyard with a doggy door that holds about an acre of land and I live on a very quiet road with hiking trails across from my house that I bring my dogs into all the time! I’m work 3 times a week at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury. I can leave during my breaks to tend to your pets. If they are staying at my home I have a doggy door and fenced in backyard. And then the remainder of the week I am free! I have a doggy door inside my home with a fenced in backyard for the 3 days I can’t be at home all day long. All other days I would love to take the dogs hiking and make sure they have a great time! I do own two dogs that are very friendly. But they can also be seperated into my basement if other dog is not friends with them. I also have a lot of experience with cat sitting my neighbors cats.
“My cat Stan was boarded for a few nights at Bianca’s. She took excellent care of him and he felt very comfortable there. She posted many pictures and provided updates. Thanks for your great service!”

“Volha was great to our dog. She sent me pictures on a regular basis while he was in her care. Her daughter was super sweet to our dog as well, which was awesome. Thanks for everything Volha!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Even with all the rain that week, Jomini and her family took wonderful care of our Bella, and made sure she was happy and well cared for. She also sent us pictures throughout the week, which meant so much because we missed Bella so much. We had complete peace of mind knowing Bella was in such caring hands. Thank you for taking such great care of our girl!”

“Loretta loves the dogs and they are family members in her home. Lots of pictures and videos sent while away. Welcoming and warm environment. We will be back!!”

“We brought our Bernese, Romeo, to Michele when we were expecting our baby so we were in the hospital for a few days. Michele offered to take him a day earlier for us so we could get ready for the arrival of our baby, and was able to keep him an extra day last minute when we were returning home. Romeo had a great time with Michele’s dog, Duke. She sent us photos and kept us updated during the few days Romeo was with her. We knew he was in great hands while staying at her house. We will definitely use Michele again!”

“Sonia is amazing!! She LOVES dogs and took great care of Moonie. She shares photos and videos for everyday updates. our dog had wonderful time with Misty (Sonia’s dog) and other dogs for day care and boarding. Will certainly back to Sonia for day care or boarding again in the future.”

“Gretchen took excellent care of my dog while I was away. He seemed very happy during his stay. I also received daily photos and updates about how he was doing. I'll definitely use Gretchen's services again.”

“Hi Julia, thank you so much for taking care of Chippie. I appreciate your updates and the love you’ve shown to her. Everything looks great, and Chippie seems so happy when she sees you. Looking forward to booking with you again!”

“Claudia is great! This was the third time I left my dog with her and every time our experience was very good. She sends the pictures of the dog everyday and that gives us comfort that our baby is happy. ?”

“OMG. Isabel was amazing!!!!! There’s really just not much else to say, she was absolutely AMAZING. I have not 1 but 2 pups (that go everywhere with me) so that definitely heightened my worries of leaving them with someone I did not know. But, from the moment I met her at the meet & greet I just knew I was making the right choice and that my dogs would be safe. She truly cares about these animals and it really shows. Not only does she care but she is super smart and really knows what she is doing. Always one step ahead & ensuring their safety. I can’t thank her enough. I now look forward to planning trips knowing I have her! ?”
“Kathryn is probably the best Rover sitter we’ve had (and we’ve used some lovely sitters). Our dogs are anxious when they’re left, and Kathryn really helped them feel at ease - her fenced yard was perfect and they just seemed to trust her. I’d highly recommend booking your pet’s stay with her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Holmes
Our Josie had a great time at Tina's house! The entire family was welcoming and loving towards her, and she came home 'happy tired' from the evening and day of play. They have a huge fenced yard, and Josie was able to run to her heart's content with their dog - and my only hope is that she's not lonely at our house now! Tina sent a cute picture of the dogs together, and that was so comforting to receive while we were away. This was our first time leaving our furbaby with anyone, but the meet and greet we did with Tina in advance immediately put our minds at rest, and the overnight stay just confirmed our initial good feeling. We will definitely be booking Tina for overnight stays again, and would recommend her to anyone looking for great care for their dog!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
