“Lovely and patient despite my dog being a lot more work than Irene had agreed to! There are beautiful wooded trails adjacent to Irene’s home and I would not hesitate to recommend the whole family for wonderful dog care.”

“I have had Kayla take care of my pet many times before and she, as usual, took excellent care of him. I cannot recommend her enough as a caring, conscientious pet sitter. Thank you Kayla!”

About: I am looking to add light to my life in spite of current events by helping others in my community and bonding with your fur babies! I'm free in the eavnings most days and fully available Mondays and Tuesdays. Schedules may be accommodated if reached out to 2 weeks in advance. I live with my mom and uncle who love dogs and we all guarantee to provide the highest quality of care. I have two cats who enjoy the outside in our yard and have come with us on fun adventures like camping trips. So they are very open to change.

“We only used Arsenii once so far but will definitely be going back. Oscar has a bit of separation anxiety but Arsenii's place provides a relaxed vibe and Oscar made himself right at home.”

“We had our dog stay with Joy for 8 days while we were away on vacation. She took such great care of Daisy and gave her the most fun week of her life! We looked forward to the regular updates and photos Joy sent us. She made us feel not only comfortable with leaving our dog in her care, but also that she was providing lots of attention and love for her in our absence. Highly recommend and will definitely be rebooking in the future. Daisy will be so happy to stay with her again!”

“Ivon was absolutely amazing. She sent me so many pictures while Ellie was with her and kept me updated on how she was doing the entire time. Ellie will definitely be coming back!”

“Our 4 month old puppy stayed with Andrea. Andrea was awesome....and patient. The setup at the house is incredibly dog friendly and safe. We look forward to using Andrea again and are appreciative of the care she gave to our girl!”

“Jeff was wonderful to deal with from beginning to end. He is a great communicator and quickly responds to all communication. He clearly expressed details of arrival, pickup and what to bring for our pup while we were away.He is thorough but very flexible and understanding of both the pups needs as well as the owners. This was the best experience of leaving our pup so we could get away for our anniversary. He laid all our anxieties to rest. I totally recommend Jeff without reservation!”

“Jessica & Ian are true professionals. First time leaving our 15 year old dog with a nonfamily member & they took such great care of her. They responded to my questions and sent beautiful photos of her while I was away. They treated her like a member of their family. Apparently she even bonded with their dog which is unusual for her! Thank you so much!”

“We booked Annmarie on short notice and we couldn't be happier. Annmarie was unbelievably accommodating with the drop off and pick up time for us. She kept us informed right from the start with texts, pictures, and videos throughout our dog's stay. He got plenty of exercise and walks throughout his stay. It snowed throughout his stay and Annmarie even gave him a bath(much to our surprise) right before we picked him up. We had a phenomenal experience with Annmarie, our dog was well taken care of and we will definitely be using Annmarie again!!”

“Valeria is the sweetest! She cares for our dog as if she’s her own, probably even better than we do!! She takes her on walks and spoils her and we wouldn’t want our dog in anyone else’s care! We never have a worry when we leave Scout with her!”

“Kevin and his family always take such great care of Jax putting us at ease while we travel. Great communication and always responsive. Great family so happy we found them”

“Hi Rachael, I just wanted to say thank you so much for watching April. It meant the world to me to see the photos of the hikes and know she was in such good hands. It’s clear she had a wonderful time and was well loved while I was away. We’ll definitely be reaching out next time we need a sitter. Thank you so much!”

“I recently had Cherissa watch over my mini Goldendoodle, Sofia, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very first interaction, she was professional, kind, and clearly passionate about animals. Cherissa and her family took the time to get to know Sofia’s routine, preferences, and any special needs, which made me feel totally at ease. While I was away, she provided regular updates—including photos and messages—which really reassured me that my pet was happy and well cared for. I highly recommend Cherissa and her family to anyone looking for reliable and compassionate pet care. I’ll definitely be booking with them again in the future!”

“Jessica and her husband were clearly so patient and understanding about sitting for a senior dog. Salto came back happy and excited! They sent regular photos and updates. I would absolutely have Salto stay with them again if we are in the area.”
“Rusudan provided excellent care for my boy Stax. Stax is a senior dog who requires medication and also has some mobility issues, due to his arthritis. Rusudan cared for him, as if he were her own. Tending to all of his needs. Rusudan provided me updates throughout the day helping to reassure me that he was well taken care of. Stax had an amazing time and we will be sure to rebook with them.”
About: I grew up with a loved dog and spent countless joyful hours caring for, playing with and training her. In addition to growing up with a dog, I had the pleasure of intermittently watching my neighbors’ dogs for the past four years and each experience has deepened my love for our furry friends. You can trust that your pets will receive abundant love and attention while you’re away. Having navigated my own dog’s seizures, I’m well-equipped to handle any situation and comfortable administering medication if needed. I can clean up after animals in any regard and am comfortable bathing them if necessary. Your pets will be in compassionate and capable hands. Pet care is something I look forward too every day. Each day, I will dedicate specific times for walks, play and feeding, ensuring that your pets’ needs are fully met. While I work a full-time job, I am ready to accommodate my schedule during the week. I’m available for dog walking or dog sitting or cat sitting after 5 PM on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays. On the weekends, I have even more flexibility, allowing for extended playtime and quality moments with your pets. I have no pets at home, creating a calm and comfortable environment for your pets. If it helps them feel more at ease, I can easily section off a room just for your dog or cat. I also have a long leash available, allowing for plenty of fun and exploration in a safe space. My goal is to provide a stress-free atmosphere for your pets. I’m more than happy to come to your home as well, ensuring they remain in a familiar setting that minimizes anxiety.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
