“We had a great experience with Kate! Our dog, Sampson, stayed in her home and was very well cared for. Communication was easy and consistent, and we felt completely comfortable knowing our pup was in good hands. Sampson is pretty easygoing, but it was clear he was treated with attention and kindness. We will definitely book with them again.”

“Donna is absolutely great, very nice, accommodating and very punctual. She sent many pictures with our dog, who seemed very happy and well taken care of. We are very pleased to have met her and shall definitely contact her again for future bookings. Thank you, Donna!”

“I was so glad to have found Mary Ann on Rover to watch our dog Piper for 2 weeks while we were on vacation. On our initial visit with Mary Ann, I knew this was a great fit for Piper. She is such a sweet, caring, knowledgeable woman that I knew would take wonderful care of my dog. This was the first time using Rover as I was not comfortable leaving her in a kennel again for this long as my dog gets very anxious and sad when we are away and my usual in house dog sitter was with us on vacation. Mary Ann lives just 10 minutes from my house with a lovely fenced in side yard for her to go to the bathroom outside and just run around not being on a leash, which is just like home. Also being able to jump on the furniture and the beds was a plus too, again just like home. And she did not have any issues getting too anxious which is what I was hoping for. It was a perfect fit and a great find. I would not hesitate to book with Mary Ann again.”

“Kyle was great with our two pups! We were in a last minute bind as our usual boarding place closed. We had never used Rover before, but it was recommended and we are so happy we found Kyle. He asked great questions during our initial meet and greet, showing he was well prepared and he knew what was best for the dogs. He sent pictures while we were away and was very timely on all communication. We will definitely be using Kyle again!”

“Jillian was a great sitter! We were nervous about leaving our pup with someone new but she was great. We checked in frequently and she was quick to respond with updates and photos!! We will be booking again!!”

“Volha and her family took such sweet care of our Sadie. She sent lots of pictures, and was on time and communicative, much appreciated! We’d be more than happy to have Sadie stay with her again. Thank you all! ?”

“We had such a great experience with Jennifer who care of our dog, Daisy, for almost a week. Jennifer was very communicative throughout the week - keeping us updated throughout our trip with thoughtful messages and plenty of photos showing Daisy relaxed, happy, and clearly enjoying her time with Jennifer and her family. It gave us real peace of mind knowing Daisy was in such caring and capable hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Jennifer again—highly recommended!”

“Liliana and her husband are wonderful. They were very flexible with us when our plans changed and great at communicating. We got plenty of photos and updates while our dog stayed with them and she was a very happy girl when we picked her up. 10/10 would recommend!”

“We feel so lucky to have found Isabel to take care of our puppy Baxter! It was our first time leaving him with a sitter outside our home, and Isabel completely put our minds at ease. Baxter must have felt like he was at a five-star dog resort, with a beautiful yard to play in, kids who love the dogs and plenty of doggie buddies to run around with! We loved getting the many pictures she sent every day. It was a great experience and we will definitely book with Isabel in the future.”

About: Ever since I was young, I have had a strong love for animals, especially dogs. I grew up surrounded by dogs and currently have two of my own. Over the years, I have pet-sat for neighbors and friends, and I always enjoy caring for and spending time with their pets. At college I am part of a club where we work with and volunteer at the local animal shelters. There are photos on my profile that highlight some of the events on campus I have volunteered at to raise money for the puppies at the local animal shelter. I do also have experience with horses. My experience has strengthened my passion for working with animals and reinforced my commitment to providing them with attentive, compassionate care. I currently have a lot of availability to be able to take care of your pets. I can board and attend to your pets any day of the week. I have a fenced-in backyard and two dogs of my own as well. I have a 10-month-old male English Bulldog and a 3-year-old female French Bulldog. They are both very friendly and love playing with other dogs. At your residence, I will respect any boundaries you may have and provide the best service I can.
“Maria was awesome!! Thank you so much! It’s the first time we have every left Bubby and we went away with peace of mind he was well being taking care of! She would send updates and pictures randomly to show us bubby was having a good time! Thank you again!”

“Celina was great. She sent photos and updates and Mango seemed to have a great time. She was flexible and responsive about timing, and everything was so easy and pleasant. Thanks Celina!”

“Mildred was great with Holly. He seemed to have a good time and she was very accommodating. Knew I was nervous about leaving Allie with somebody overnight so she sent me pictures and let me know how he was doing throughout the night which was very helpful to me. Would definitely recommend”

“Samantha and Michael were wonderful to our dog, Pete. They were super communicative and kind. They shared lots of pictures and I knew Pete was in the best hands. They took extra care to search him for ticks after they found one on him, which was really a next level thing for them to do. They clearly care about the dogs in their care and we highly recommend them.”

“Thunder LOVES boarding with Yahaira and her family. She sends pics and he always looks so happy... a little too happy lol but we would have it no other way. She is now our primary sitter.”

“Sullie loved her stay at Claudia's. Claudia made Sullie feel comfortable and at home. We loved receiving updates and pictures via text throughout her stay. Thank you, Claudia, and we will see you again in a couple of weeks!”

“Elizabeth is such an amazing sitter! She has watched my golden retriever multiple times now while I was traveling, and there was no worrying or stressing that he would be sad without me. Highly recommend, I wish she could move with me to continue sitting Brody!”

“Lora is amazing! Our boy Ash had a great stay at her place. She followed all of our instructions carefully and made sure he was well taken care of. Our boy is reactive to other dogs, Lora assured us she had lots of experience and was able to handle him on walk which put us at ease. She checked in with us daily and sent lots of updates and pictures as requested. Ash spent his days sun bathing in her living room watching hummingbirds and playing with Lora, I’m almost certain he didn’t want to come home because of how much he loves her. Loras home will now be Ash’s second home. Thank you endlessly Lora!”

“Very nice experience for Rufus esp with her 2 dogs , I think Bark is Rufus additional best friend ? ! No fence yard is a No problem !!! And thank you Michele for considering too for another day , I was on mistake with my booking days and I’m so happy & appreciate the extension right away . I wouldn’t hesitate to book again if time permits.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gaylordsville
Leaving my sweet dog Lulu in someone else’s care is never easy, but from the moment we met Julie, I knew she was in the best hands. Julie treated Lulu with such patience, kindness, and respect for her pace and needs—it was clear this was not “just a job,” but genuine care. Lulu was comfortable, calm, and clearly adored. I received thoughtful updates and photos that showed not just that she was safe, but that she was happy. Every detail mattered, from her routine to her quirks, and that level of attentiveness gave me complete peace of mind. Coming home to a relaxed, content Lulu meant everything to me. Finding someone I trust for my fur baby is invaluable, and I am so grateful to have found a sitter who truly understands and honors the bond we have with our pets. I would recommend Julie without hesitation to anyone—especially those who treat their pets like a true family member.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
