“Mari watched achy for 5 days and I’m very glad I left him with her she updated me on achy, was communicative through the entire time. I was nervous as this was his first time but he looked very happy and enjoyed his time with her and her 2 dogs! Happy that I chose Maria! Thank you!”
“Jessica was great at watching Gwen! She was able to accommodate our last-minute request after another sitter cancelled. She was very communicative about Gwen’s stay and sent plenty of photos and updates. She took great care of our little pup!”

“Danielle and her husband were absolutely amazing while watching our little guy (Jaxson) for a quick getaway this week. We were given constant updates/pictures, and he clearly made himself right at home and was as comfortable as can be. Communication was prompt from the beginning and we were truly at ease while we were away that he was receiving more than adequate care. Jax became quick friends with their pets, and was moping around when we got home because he clearly misses them! Could not recommend enough!”

“My very active little dog stayed 8 days with Tinaclem. Smush was so happy, well taken care of, and runs to her when he sees her. It is a huge relief to know I've found a petsitter who loves dogs as much as I do, and as much as my dog loves her.”

“Rachael was so good with Swift! He can be a little much, but she took him for lots of hikes and play time and he came home tired, happy, and better behaved. You can tell she loves what she does.”

“This is my second time having my fur baby with Sue. It was a much longer visit this time (a week) amd Sue remained her kind communicative self. Would recommend in a heartbeat. She goes above and beyond. Thank you! 💕”

“Mary Ann boarded/took into her home my Daizy, a 12-year-old toy poodle, while I had surgery. The best recommendation comes from Daizy who kept looking for Mary Ann after Daizy came home! My little was pampered, cared for and spoiled and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Highly recommend!”

“Stephanie is awesome with my pet. Very understanding and patient with a dog who is very anxious. I appreciate this and can be stress free while traveling.”

“Our dog Odie is one lucky pup. It’s been awhile since he stayed at a sitter’s home and as an older dog, we were hoping that he’d be fine with this newer experience in care. He did so well under the genuine loving care that Kathryn provided. She kept us apprised of Odie’s status with photos and reports. Her home is a lovely dog-friendly place to be with a beautiful and large fenced-in yard. My husband and I are truly more than happy to recommend Kathryn’s wonderful caregiving, without hesitation. Thanks, Kathryn!!”

“Alan & Luis are always great with Tyson. They welcome him into their home like he was part of their family. They are flexible and I always feel confident Tyson is getting the best care when we are away.”

“We left our Bernese Mountain Dog with Kara for a week and a half and had so much peace of mind knowing he was being loved as much as we love him. Kara was great and sent us many pictures and updates throughout our time away. I have to say, our doggie looked like he was smiling in all of the pictures...I was afraid he wouldn't want to come home :) I highly recommend Kara to love your pets in your absence!”

“Very attentive and welcoming. Amber and her family provided an excellent, loving stay at their hone for my dog while I was out of the country. Daily updates and photos were very nice. Definitely recommend and will definitely book with her again. 5++ stars!”

“We have booked with Madison several times for our pups. Madison has been amazing with Holly and Murray every time they have stayed with her. She’s super reliable and really loves our pups, so we always know they're in good hands. Highly recommend her!”

“Pixie had a wonderful time with Addie and her family! They were very accommodating with our schedule, gave her plenty of opportunity to play and stay active with their own dogs and neighborhood walks; she came home tired and happy. We will definitely board Pixie with Addie and her family again.”

About: I’ve always had pets growing up. Over the past 20 years I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, cats, rabbits, turtles, snakes, and hamsters. I love animals more than most humans. My sister is also a vet which is super handy to have. I currently work from home so I can be present and then I have down time I can play and tend to my furry house guest. I have a room for my dogs with a very bring crate, beds and toys. When I have furry guests I can always alternate my dogs in the room or the furry guest into that room. They could also wonder around the apartment as well. My building complex also has a dog park which is nice to run around and play.

“Kathryn & Jeremy were great! Their house was cozy and friendly. Our corgi loved playing with their kids and he was definitely tired when he got home. They were great at communication and we felt our dog was safe. Will book with them again!”

“We feel so lucky to have found Isabel to take care of our puppy Baxter! It was our first time leaving him with a sitter outside our home, and Isabel completely put our minds at ease. Baxter must have felt like he was at a five-star dog resort, with a beautiful yard to play in, kids who love the dogs and plenty of doggie buddies to run around with! We loved getting the many pictures she sent every day. It was a great experience and we will definitely book with Isabel in the future.”

“Thank you for taking care of Hershey while I was on a trip out of the country. This was her first time boarding with someone privately, and I could tell her had a good time and was happy.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bethlehem
Amber was absolutely amazing with our larger lab puppy, Duke! This was his first time away from us, and he stayed with her from Wednesday to Sunday (4 nights and 5 days). She was incredibly attentive and patient with his puppy energy. We loved getting the regular photos and updates, which really put our minds at ease. Amber took him on plenty of walks and even set up a pool for him on the hot days to keep him cool. Duke had a blast, and we will definitely be booking with Amber again. Highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
