About: With over 20 years of hands-on pet care experience, I bring a calm, confident presence that animals naturally trust. I’ve cared for pets of all ages and temperaments—including senior pets, rescues, and animals with medical or behavioral needs. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely love getting to know each pet's unique personality. Whether it’s playtime, structured walks, or just quiet company, I treat every animal like family. Communication, safety, and comfort are always my priorities—and I’ll keep you updated every step of the way! I offer drop-in visits and dog walking that fit easily into your pet’s routine. I do not offer overnight care, but I’m happy to check in morning, midday, or evening to keep your pet comfortable and happy while you're out. I believe pets are family—and I treat them that way. You’ll always get clear updates, lots of photos, and peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. Let me know what they love, what makes them nervous, and how I can help make things easy for both of you! I care for pets exclusively in their own homes, where they feel most safe, secure, and comfortable. I believe that animals thrive in familiar environments, and my goal is to support their routine with as little disruption as possible. Whether I'm stopping by for a walk or a drop-in visit, I always make safety my top priority. I double-check doors, gates, and leashes before and after every visit, and I keep a close eye on your pet’s body language to make sure they’re feeling calm and secure. I’m respectful of your home and space, and I clean up after myself (and your pet!) so you return to a tidy, happy environment. I take time to learn your pet’s preferences and quirks—what comforts them, what makes them nervous, and how to help them feel loved while you're away. Trust and communication matter to me, and I’ll always keep you updated with honest check-ins and sweet snapshots of your pet while you’re gone.

About: Hi there! I’m Treva—an experienced and compassionate animal caregiver with a lifelong passion for helping pets feel safe, happy, and loved. I’m 19 years old and currently working part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to dedicate quality time to your fur baby. Whether it’s early mornings, midday check-ins, or evening cuddles, I’m happy to work with your schedule to provide the best possible care. My services include dog walking, feeding, medication administration, enrichment activities, playtime, and one-on-one companionship. I’m comfortable handling pets with special medical or behavioral needs, and I always take the time to understand each animal’s unique personality and routine. I also offer drop-in visits and overnight care for pet parents who need peace of mind while away. With over three years of hands-on experience in professional dog care—and two years spent managing a busy pet facility—I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I’ve bottle-fed newborn puppies, worked with reactive dogs, and supported seniors with mobility issues. I’ve also been active in rescue, fostering, and rehabilitation efforts, which has deepened my understanding of animal behavior and the importance of patience and trust. Currently, I have three smart and kind dogs of my own, and we enjoy daily walks and visits to the dog park to get our energy out and stay social. We may live in an apartment, but we make sure to get outside every day for fresh air and fun! When your pet is with me, they’re treated like family. I bring a calm, reliable presence, strong organizational skills, and most importantly—a whole lot of love. 🐶💖 Let’s make your pet’s day (and yours) a little brighter! 🌟 I’m currently working part time and have plenty of time to care for your fur baby. I’m flexible with dates and times, and I’ll work with your schedule to make sure you have the best experience possible. I have three smart and kind fur babies of my own. Since we live in an apartment, we go on daily walks and visit dog parks to help get our energy out and stay active

About: I have been dogsitting, catsitting, and housesitting since I was in high school! I also worked for 3 years at a general practice veterinary clinic, working with animals boarding at the facility to provide them care. I have also worked 2 years in the ICU of the Small Animal Hospital at Iowa State, taking care of patients. I am currently working part-time, so I have lots of flexibility with my schedule when it comes to housesitting, walking your dogs, or any care you might need! I am happy to play with your pets, take them outside, and ensure they have company! I cannot care for pets in my own home (territorial cat, oops!) but more than happy to hang out in your home and ensure your pets are happy and taken care of.

“Very communicative and took care of my dog while I was out of town. Knows how to deal with dogs that give new people a hard time. Great person to have watch over your dog while you are out of town”

About: I’ve been dog walking and sitting for both relatives and family friends since I was maybe 5 or 6. I grew up in a big dog family and have always had a passion for animals. I’m starting school this fall at Iowa State University, and I plan to major in Animal Biology so I can get myself started on the pre-veterinary track. To get some extra hands-on experience, I want to “officially” get some pet-sitting under my belt through Rover. I have also recently started volunteering at the Ames Animal Shelter and I love the exposure that I’m getting! Apart from starting college in late August, I am currently unemployed and am looking for one (or more!) part-time job(s) to add some more structure to my summer :) From there, I’ll probably stay active on Rover, but my availability might become a little less flexible. I have two cats and one dog (all girls and all spayed!) that know how to behave with guests. Our dog loves to make friends and is very sociable. I’m perfectly fine visiting or staying overnight for your pets, and they will always be welcome at my house. I can adjust based on whatever your preferences are!

About: I have always loved animals and caring for them. I grew up taking care of mostly dogs, but I have experience with other animals like cats, goats, guinea pigs, and hamsters. I love meeting new animals and helping care for them. I am currently a student at Iowa state but am available all day Tuesdays and Thursdays and weekends. I’m available in the afternoon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I cannot provide boarding because of the pets I have at home, but I can visit pets or stay overnight with them at their homes. I’ve stayed in ankeny overnight a few times but prefer to stay in Ames due to my classes being in the morning.

About: I worked at a veterinarian center for 2 years, and have 15+ years of experience with pets. I absolutely love animals and can’t wait to meet yours! I am currently working part time so i’ll have plenty of time to play and take care of your baby’s. I love going on walks with them and they will be able to snuggle up right next to me at night! I have a lawn outside and a great walking route where i live. I also have space for your doggies to sleep, play and hang out!

About: I’m a lifelong pet owner and have experience taking care of both dogs and cats. Over the past six years, I’ve been responsible for feeding, walking, playing with, and providing general care and attention to my own dog. These last few years I’ve also pet sat for my family members and friends, taking care of their dogs and cats. I love getting to know each pet’s personality and ensuring that they feel well taken care of and loved! I am currently a student at Iowa State University, but everyday I have breaks or long stretches of time where I can drop in on and take care of your pets! I always ensure that I go over with any rules/boundaries with clients and to ask about any additional care towards the pet (like administering medicine). I like to know whatever works best for you and your pets!

Teagan W.
“Teagan is an amazing pet sitter and has watched my cats and dog several times. She always goes above and beyond in making sure they get the proper care whenever I've been gone. I also worked with her in a vet clinic situation and she was wonderful with all levels of pets that we saw no matter how big or small, their temperment, ect. She isn't afraid of the more "troublesome" pets and is always glad to find ways to make sure the animal's needs come first!”

Emma S.

“Thank you, Emma, for taking care of Alex! He seems really happy to be at home. He looked like he liked you and your Mom. Thank you for taking care of the fish too.”

Sarah M.
“Sarah has experience with a wide range of animals, including fish, reptiles, rodents, dogs, cats, and horses. With two dogs and a cat at home, she prioritizes their well-being by caring for each animal as an individual. For example, one of her dogs has a condition that needs specialized vet care and diet. Between her previous job as a vet tech and her innate love of all creatures, she makes sure that while the dog receives the necessary care, the other animals in the house are just as happy and loved. Her world revolves around her animals, so she understands how important pets are to their people!”

Alexandra W.Star Sitter

“Even in a snowstorm, Alexandra arrived to walk our dog. Winnie was THRILLED to get out in the snow & was BEAT after her 30 min jaunt. That’s the best you can ask for.”

Ames dog parents share their Rover experiences
Debora was incredible with our pupp. He was apprehensive of a stranger coming to let him out and she went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and get him on the leash to go out, then sent us amazing pictures of their walk! She was a lifesaver while we were at a wedding out of town and we couldn’t be more grateful! She’s amazing with dogs and couldn’t recommend a better person to trust your dog with! We wish we lived in Ames so she could watch our dog every time!

Gina is the absolute best. She has cared for my senior Boston Terrier for over a year and I have nothing but great things to say. She is so caring and gives me the reassurance that my pets are taken care of while I am at work. She even came over one day to comfort my dog during a thunderstorm. She has such a big heart and I truly appreciate her. Thank you, Gina.
