“Allyson did a great job caring for our pets. She was a huge help with all our animals and extra requests. We could tell she cared about them and that our cat liked seeing her too. She kept us updated with notes and pictures, which was very nice to see and hear about how our animals were doing. We will definitely hire her again and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Izabelle did a great job taking care of Toby while we were away. She was reliable and prompt in arriving for his care needs. It was great to see her report cards with photos attached. Would hire her again.”

About: My husband and I both grew up on farms tending to animals since a very young age. I began training to show dogs at age 10 for obedience. At age 16 I began hosting obedience training for 4-H groups. Our family has four German shorthaired pointers that are hunters and excellent family companions. We are constantly working with our animals on a daily basis. We are well-versed in the care of elderly dogs and the energy management of puppies and their short attention spans. I currently work remotely from home, so I’m able to tentatively care for your dog each day. If you are in my neighborhood, I can easily do drop ins 2 to 3 times a day. My husband and I have four boys who are just as animal loving as we are. They are always willing to play and give extra love to animals. We have a privacy height fenced in 1/2 acre yard where your puppy is free to play with our 4 German shorthair pointers or solo. We have extra crates for use if necessary.

“For as long as I live here, and Emily is on Rover I will be having her take care of my boys. She is so thorough and responsive. I think she may take better care of them than we do lol”

“Our first visit was Samantha was excellent. My two dachshunds are usually nervous around new people, but they liked Samantha right away. She took her time to let the dogs relax and come to her. She was kind and gentle, and that made a huge difference. The pups quickly felt relaxed and calm. I look forward to working with Samantha this fall!”

“Carley is the best! She cared for our elderly dog and 2 kitties while we were on vacation. She was punctual, had excellent communication, the photos helped the whole family miss our pets less. We felt confident our furry family was getting the best care possible while we were away. Highly recommend!!!”

“Alex was fantastic with our cats and rats! She’s dependable, honest, and caring. She also writes very detailed visit summaries and takes clear pictures of all the pets so we know they’re doing well. 10/10 would book again”

About: A mom to pigs, chickens, dogs, and plants. Ready to give your pet love and care as if they were my own. I’ve been caring for friends/family members animals for over 10 years and enjoy every bit of it. I am an ambitious travel nurse back for the summer. I am working with my family’s excavation business until fall/winter. Don’t hesitate to message me. Thank you! I am able to take pets out. In good physical condition to walk your pet many miles. Willing to discuss further services as needed. I have other socialized dogs at home if you are wanting your pet to be socialized as well.

“Was very helpful and able to check on my cat with late notice. Would definitely have Sydney come back”

About: I know how energetic dogs are, and I am as well so we’re a perfect match! I can keep them entertained while they are also making my day so much brighter! I am a full time student but classes do not take up much of my day! I love to go on long walks and I can entertain any dog for hours. I can do late afternoons and mornings, as well as nights if need be. I have 2 dogs at home, but here at college I do not have any pets. My apartment does allow pets so it would be no problem to have them over:) I also have the option of a fenced in yard if your little pup prefers to run around freely.

“Kerri is an excellent communicator who always keeps us updated with detailed messages and pictures, so we feel at ease while we're away. She goes above and beyond to make sure our cats feel loved and well cared for, and we couldn't ask for a better sitter!”

“Cassidy = attentive + reliable + amazing!”

“Deborah was very professional and was available to help with only a couple hours notice. She sent updates and photos throughout her visits. Highly recommend!”

About: I have always loved animals and caring for them. I grew up taking care of mostly dogs, but I have experience with other animals like cats, goats, guinea pigs, and hamsters. I love meeting new animals and helping care for them. I am currently a student at Iowa state but am available all day Tuesdays and Thursdays and weekends. I’m available in the afternoon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I cannot provide boarding because of the pets I have at home, but I can visit pets or stay overnight with them at their homes. I’ve stayed in ankeny overnight a few times but prefer to stay in Ames due to my classes being in the morning.

About: I’ve been dog walking and sitting for both relatives and family friends since I was maybe 5 or 6. I grew up in a big dog family and have always had a passion for animals. I’m starting school this fall at Iowa State University, and I plan to major in Animal Biology so I can get myself started on the pre-veterinary track. To get some extra hands-on experience, I want to “officially” get some pet-sitting under my belt through Rover. I have also recently started volunteering at the Ames Animal Shelter and I love the exposure that I’m getting! Apart from starting college in late August, I am currently unemployed and am looking for one (or more!) part-time job(s) to add some more structure to my summer :) From there, I’ll probably stay active on Rover, but my availability might become a little less flexible. I have two cats and one dog (all girls and all spayed!) that know how to behave with guests. Our dog loves to make friends and is very sociable. I’m perfectly fine visiting or staying overnight for your pets, and they will always be welcome at my house. I can adjust based on whatever your preferences are!

About: I have experience with various animals including dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, hamsters, bunnies, and gerbils. I have most experience caring for dogs with frequent accidents, senior health issues, and giving medications. I currently work remotely so I am always at home! I freelance mostly, so if your dog needs me I will always be available to help! I trust that every dog has their own personality, skills and issues. With this being said, I want to make sure every dog gets the care they need no matter what.

“Kjersten did a great job checking in on Bob this weekend. She came prepared with lots of questions about Bob to make sure she could give him the best care. She made sure he got his food, cuddles, play time and treats and gave me pictures and updates each time. I will definitely be requesting her again next time we go out of town!”

About: I have been dogsitting, catsitting, and housesitting since I was in high school! I also worked for 3 years at a general practice veterinary clinic, working with animals boarding at the facility to provide them care. I have also worked 2 years in the ICU of the Small Animal Hospital at Iowa State, taking care of patients. I am currently working part-time, so I have lots of flexibility with my schedule when it comes to housesitting, walking your dogs, or any care you might need! I am happy to play with your pets, take them outside, and ensure they have company! I cannot care for pets in my own home (territorial cat, oops!) but more than happy to hang out in your home and ensure your pets are happy and taken care of.

“Miranda was great! She was able to get my very anti-social older cat to come out of hiding!! She also graciously adapted to the changing situation at my building. Thank you, Miranda! We hopefully will see you again!”

Brooke & Brent B.Star Sitter
“Brooke is amazing with animals! She truly loves animals and provides such great care for them, whether her own dogs, cat and chickens or others’ animals. When our cat was about to give birth, she came right over and helped us through the whole process. When we were gone for 5 days and our dog failed the kennel we took him too (for aggressive behavior), Brooke and her husband were able to handle and care for our dog while we were gone. Lastly, any time we have questions or issues with our dog and/or cats, I call Brooke right away because I know she will know what to do. She is very knowledgeable about animals. Brooke has done an excellent job caring for our cats and dog and I very highly recommend her to care for your pets.”
