“She did a very great job taking care of my babies. She actually made another visit in between times so they wasn't inside to long. Highly recommend her. I'd definitely have her do it again if she is available. Great job”

“Kelley was nothing short of amazing! She handled everything perfectly and was consistent and on time. It was a great feeling to know that my fur babies were being well taken care of. If you want someone that pays attention, is on time and great with animals.. call Kelley!”

About: I have always loved animals and caring for them. I grew up taking care of mostly dogs, but I have experience with other animals like cats, goats, guinea pigs, and hamsters. I love meeting new animals and helping care for them. I am finishing my degree at Iowa state and will graduate in August. I am not sure what I want to do after I graduate, so I’m filling my schedule with pet sitting. I have a very open schedule for a while until I figure out what’s next for me. I can visit pets or stay throughout the day with pets at their homes, but I am not available to stay overnight. I treat animals as my own and truly love getting to meet and work with animals. I make sure to ask questions before giving treats or doing anything that pet owners might differ on. I make sure to stick to whatever schedule pets are used to and follow specific instructions regarding their needs. I provide daily updates and pictures so you know what’s going on and how pets are doing.
“Emma was very caring and attentive to our kitties while we were away. She gave great updates and pictures! I highly recommend and trust her to take care of our kitties again! Thank you, Emma!”

“Izabelle was absolutely amazing. She gave me daily updates with photos, which were wonderful. She was able to play with my cats, and despite them being shy they seemed very comfortable and loved from the updates I was sent. I would absolutely have her watch my cats again!”

“Ren was AMAZING!!!! We have found our forever friend for our fur baby! She went above and beyond and definitely reassured us every step of the way! We will be booking Ren anytime we are going out of town! She was the best and so so truth worthy! Thank you a million”
“We were so happy with the care, love and attention Allyson gave our Artie. She was our first non-family sitter, and it couldn't have gone any better. We really appreciated her updates and pictures. The pics showed a very happy Artie, enjoying walks, frisbee and other play time. Outstanding care and communication!”

“incredibly thankful to Emily for taking such good care of my kitties while i was away! she had great updates, took lots of pictures, and seemed to really give them lots of love while i was gone! :-)”

About: I’ve taken care of a range of animals that I think equips me for the kindness, knowledge, and skills to care for your pet. I’ve had many cats and dogs including a lab and a Great Dane. Training them in both in potty training to playing dead. I’m currently a student at ISU but have classes only Tuesday and Thursday till 5 so am open the rest of the week. I don’t have a job yet so free for whenever. I’ve done lots of pet sitting before at other’s homes my home does not accept pets though. I’m very trustworthy and comfortable with the boundaries you may have at your home.
About: For several years, I’ve cared for friends dog while they are away and needing someone to provide care, either extended in home stays or just popping in. I had a dog when I was growing up, and I loved being able to take her on walks and little adventures, now I just have cats. I enjoy walking dogs and taking them to the park for some enrichment and exercise! Providing some time during the day to keep your pet company is something I love to do. As a pet owner, when I'm away for longer than normal, it always makes me feel better knowing my pets have someone to check in on them, so I love to do that for others when I can! I currently have a very flexible schedule, so I am available for daytime care during the work day, as well as last minute care needs! I am happy to take dogs on walks, or to the dog park, and provide engaging play and attention. For cats, I'm happy to follow their cues, hanging out nearby, providing opportunities to play, and come get some affection if they want. I pay close attention to animals and their needs, responding quickly to any cues they are giving me about what they may want or need. If a dog seems stressed, we will head back home and get back to a comfortable space. With cats, I always let them set the pace and get comfortable.

About: Since I was young I have been around dogs. We used to breed yellow labs when I was younger and my family always had a dog that needed taking care of. After work I have a very open evening. I like to stay busy and active. During the weekends I am always outside and playing with my dog My dog Theo is very telling in what he wants. I make sure he has plenty of outside time (unless it’s hot) and try to let him do what feels natural for him.
“Libby responded to my request quickly and was very accomodating with a last minute booking. When meeting with her, I was impressed with her cheerful & confident manner. She was comfortable giving my cat her medications and was happy to give me updates and pictures with each visit. I would definitely trust her in my home to care for Alice again!”

“Kevin has been helping us with my aunt's cat who needs daily medication. He is professional, friendly, quick to respond, and most importantly, Cleo is getting her pills. He also sends us a photo of her after each visit which we find funny (she doesn't look too happy after being pilled but she does have a lot of attitude!) and also comforting to know she is being taken care of by someone who knows what he is doing and enjoys it.”
About: I'm a walking enthusiast who spends time outside wind, rain, snow, or sunshine. I'm a past dog owner who wants to help you keep your pup healthy, active, and happy. I'm ready to get to walking or sitting your pup! I'm located in Nevada, IA, but I will travel to the surrounding area for house-sitting. I'm out walking on the daily. I'm ready and willing to add a tag-along dog friend to make my walking extra special. I will take care of your dog like my own, whether keeping your schedule for house-sitting or dropping in to let them out. Walks are by far my favorite activity when I'm with them! I am willing to house-sit, drop in, and/or walk your pup, but at this time, I am not considering caring for them in my home. If you choose to have me take care of your dog, I will do my absolute best to keep them clean and happy.
About: I have nine years of pet care experience. I raised and showed Rex rabbits for 4 years. Personally I have trained and care for my own dogs. After High School I work in an Animal Hospital. My duties there included receiving the animals for appointments, prepping and assisting in surgeries, keeping accurate records, cleaning and sanitation of the facilities. I am available to care for pets full time as I am looking to make a career out of caring for pets as I pursue a position as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician. I would be able to care for the animals in their own homes keeping them safe in the comfort of their own space and environment.
About: Hey there! As the daughter of a veterinarian, growing up around animals was a given so I have experience with dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and health statuses (if your pet needs any specific care). I also have two cats of my own! I look forward to meeting your pets! I currently work a full time day job, so my availability at the moment is mostly evening/weekend, but certain circumstances may allow for additional availability depending. I’ll be sure to help your pets just as safe with me as they feel with you and try to maintain their normal routine to the best of my ability.
About: I provide experienced, reliable dog care focused on dog walking and drop-in visits. I'm available for house sitting on the weekends. I grew up around working dogs, helping my grandfather and stepdad, who were coon dog haulers. From a young age, I was responsible for feeding dogs, cleaning kennels, and learning how to read behavior and body language. As an adult, I’ve worked with a wide range of dogs, including nervous and reactive dogs. I also fostered a dog with aggression issues, which gave me real experience with triggers, stress signals, and safe handling. I focus on structured walks and drop-in visits that support a dog’s natural needs—sniffing, movement, routine, and mental stimulation through enrichment activities. I am home-based and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate a variety of timing needs, especially mornings, afternoons, and evenings depending on the day. Meet-and-greets are required to ensure safety and a good fit for every dog. When boarding, I prefer to have smaller dogs due to living in a duplex. I can have 1-2 at a time. My dog gets along with most dogs, it seems he prefers dogs his size and smaller. I am experienced in walking 2-3 dogs at once. I have learned how to deal with dog fights and aggressive/reactive dogs through training. I have plenty of time for walks and Drop in visits. I would love to play with your pups and spend quality time with them. I will treat your home with the utmost care and your pet with affection. You'll receive consistent updates and photos for complete peace of mind".

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
