About: I have had a lot of experience with dogs over the years and am just getting started with pet sitting. My priority is providing a safe and caring home for your pup while they are in my care. I currently have a yellow lab mix who loves other dogs. I have some experience with high energy dogs, nervous dogs, giving medicines, and helping finicky dogs eat. I work full time, but have a flexible job that will allow me to let your dog out as needed. Our routine includes three walks a day so I will make sure your pup is exercised. I am home evenings to spend with your dog. Weekends are the best times for me to board and your pup will be sure to get a lovely walk or hike! About: Hello! I’m a full-time high school teacher who loves animals… but my own dog passed away last year and for some reason I’m just not ready to get a new one. But I love dogs!! So, in the meantime, I am getting my pet love by dog-sitting. I mostly set this up to do over the summer when I was off work and super flexible, but I’ve decided to keep doing it some—with an emphasis on weekends and public holidays when I’m not at work :) I can do some weekdays, but we’d need to chat about it first. I have gotten a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment out of this so far (which is truly why I’m doing this) and plan to continue this until that stops (or until I decide to adopt a new furry friend who might need most of my attention). I grew up with dogs and have had a variety of breeds, shapes, sizes over the decades. I dog-sat during college and during grad school for friends, professors, and a few strangers I connected with on an older website (I feel like it was called care-dot-com for anyone who’s old enough to remember that). As someone who is a “bit” older, I’m reliable and have very little social life!! Perfect for you and your pet! I’m also super motivated to make your dog as happy as I can! I miss that aspect of having a pet—you take care of them and they keep you sane in this crazy world. Update: During the school year, I’m most available on weekends but can of course provide care in the afternoon and evening on a school/week day… just not as much as I can on a weekend or holiday :) I have a wire fenced yard (not a privacy fence). It’s not the biggest but I’ve also had a smaller yard! There are neighboring dogs, as well, so keep that in mind. As mentioned, no dog at the moment. I’m very careful with dogs in terms of behavior. I was raised to understand that the person is responsible for the dog’s behavior. This means paying attention, shortening the lead when needed, helping the dog feel secure, crossing the street, etc.

About: I grew up caring for dogs my entire life so far, and cats/exotic animals later on. I had a golden retriever from ages 0-10, two Bichon Shih Tzu mixes from ages 11 into my late teen years, and a mini golden doodle and Bichon poodle mix from my teens until i moved out at 18. I also grew up keeping exotic animals since age 8 with help from my parents, and started caring for them on my own since age 16. I have kept frogs, toads, an anole, and even a praying mantis! My coursework is online, so my schedule is pretty flexible when it comes to pet care. I am home daily, and my partner has days off on Mondays and Tuesdays. We are both huge animal lovers, and have endless love to give! I live in a 3 bedroom condo, with a partial non-fenced backyard, so I would be walking any dogs on a leash. We have 3 cats, so we have 2 litter boxes in the house for use.

I’m available in the afternoon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I cannot provide boarding because of the pets I have at home, but I can visit pets or stay overnight with them at their homes. I’ve stayed in ankeny overnight a few times but prefer to stay in Ames due to my classes being in the morning.
About: I have over 2000 hours caring for shelter cats. I am the guardian of five cats. I'm comfortable around shy cats, kittens, old cats, all cats! I can administer simple medication if needed. I'm extremely patient and will take the time to let your cat get comfortable with me, or back away if your cat is stressed. I would love to play with your cat! I love cuddles! I love chillin' from a distance if that's what your cat needs. I'm a responsible adult and will follow the directions you leave for me. Your trip away from home will be worry-free in my care. I can also provide excellent care for small animals. Growing up I had a summer job caring for rabbits and a rabbit of my own who lived to be 12 years old! I also had a pet guinea pig named Oreo. I have flexible job hours and can work around your schedule. I have a car and am not afraid to drive in inclement weather conditions. With my own cats, I feed them twice per day and give them hours of cuddle time. My experience at animal shelters has given me a lot of experience approaching cats with different personality types.

About: I have owned a dog since I was 7, along with helped local families by watching their dogs while on vacation. Along with during college, helping a breeder with her pups and personal dogs ranging from 1 day old to 12 years old. I am currently working an internship 3 days a week. I am completely free on my days off with just trips to the gym and local coffee shops. I am willing to spends time playing with dogs and going for walks on my days off due to having an open schedule. I am comfortable coming to other houses to make sure their dogs stay less stressed and feel for comfortable in their surroundings. I take them for walks in the neighborhood on leashes.

About: Let me introduce myself. I am Christina and the proud owner of a Yorkie named Maggie, American Eskimo dog named Dewey and a Morkie named Harley. I am home every evening and are pretty flexible with our work hours. Our dogs are very well socialized and spoiled. Maggie loves her toys, Dewey loves to run, and Harley loves to sleep. I am very patient and consistent with my dogs. I enjoy teaching them new tricks and keeping them stimulated. I have five children, ages 13 to 19, that may not all be at the house at the same time . The kids are very helpful with taking the dogs for walks, feeding them and playing with them outside or inside. We live in a clean, smoke free 5 bedroom home. We have a large area to run and play. We live on 8 acres and take the dogs for walks often. Our deck is the length of the house and the animals enjoy spending time sunning themselves or watching birds, deer, etc. I work full time, am usually home by 5:00 pm and off in the summer (June and July). My husband works sales and has a very flexible work schedule. I enjoy teaching dogs new tricks and keeping them stimulated. About: I have a 5 year old cattle lab mix who has a personality like no other. I have taken care of dogs my entire life. Whether that be family, friends, or neighbors. They have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and bathe their furry beasts. While I have lived with dogs my entire life I have recently (in the past 4 years) joined the cat family and am growing my knowledge on cats. I have taken care of dogs from the ages of 3 months to 18 years and am very familiar with puppy training (mostly potty training) and senior care (slow, medications, and weak hind end). I have worked with the friendliest of dogs and some with aggression issues that were slowly and correctly worked through. When someone trusts me with their animal I treat them as my own if not better. All pets deserve the most love, attention, and of course… treats!! I am a full time student at Iowa State and a part of the Equestrian Hunt Team. I have lots of free time that I would love to dedicate to checking in on your animals or giving them a chance to stretch their legs! I would provide the best care and work with the pet owner on the specifics to what applies to their pet the best. If needed I can provide a leash for walks!

About: I have had a lot of experience with dogs over the years and am just getting started with pet sitting. My priority is providing a safe and caring home for your pup while they are in my care. I currently have a yellow lab mix who loves other dogs. I have some experience with high energy dogs, nervous dogs, giving medicines, and helping finicky dogs eat. I work full time, but have a flexible job that will allow me to let your dog out as needed. Our routine includes three walks a day so I will make sure your pup is exercised.
