About: Ive grown up with various types of dogs my whole life, ranging from chihuahuas to Rottweilers. During my senior year I completed a 150 hour internship at animal care clinic west and metro where I handled various breeds of cats and dogs of all ages and temperaments. From that I learned many different skills like animal handling and how to notice when a cat or dog is in distress. Not only that but I have volunteered at Furry Friend Refuge and have experience with rescue cats. I am comfortable walking, feeding, playing with, and caring for pets with different energy levels and needs.I I recently have been around indoor and outdoor farm cats these past couple of years and have become very comfortable with them and know how to take care of them. Currently my oldest dog who is a Rottie and 11 was born with hip dysplasia, meaning I am able to handle big dog with disabilities. I am currently a college student at the university as a biology major on the pre veterinary tract. I am currently on summer break so my availability is pretty open day to day. I will be baby sitting part time from Tuesday to Thursdays from 8am-4pm. When I am not doing babysitting, I am available all day and after 4pm the days I do babysit. I care for pets in my home by making sure they stay on a consistent routine with feeding, fresh water, exercise, bathroom breaks, and attention. I pay close attention to their behavior and comfort, especially with older pets or pets with medical needs. Since my oldest Rottweiler has hip dysplasia, I understand the importance of patience, gentle handling, and monitoring animals carefully. I also make sure pets have a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
“Kaden is a fantastic dog walker. He was friendly, communicative, and on time every morning and took great care of my shy new dog. I would highly recommend him to anyone with sensitive doggies and I'll definitely be reaching out to him next time I'm in town.”

About: I have taken care of dogs of all sizes small to extra large as well as cats and even some exotic pets. I have been the go to sitter for my friends and family every time they go on vacation. I love caring for animals and can’t wait to help you with yours. I am experienced with animals- puppies to elderly dogs, kittens to elderly cats. I homeschool my kids so I have a very flexible schedule and can work with what you need. I mostly have open afternoons and Friday through the weekend. While I’m taking care of your pet I will do all I can to assure they are taken care of physically as well as emotionally offering love, play and exercise, whatever it is they need that day. Every pet is different and I will work with you to ensure they are getting what they need from me, walks, pets or play.
“Jessica was great! She took time out of her night to come visit Koda the night before she walked him and see how they did with each other! She was also a great walker and was willing to just hang out with him outside of his kennel and play with his toys! We will definitely be going back to Jessica again!”

About: I am taking a break from working in healthcare and have two pet kitties of my own plus a bonus pet beagle with my grandparents, so I am not only dedicated to helping people, but I love helping our furry friends too! I’d love to take your furry loved one(s) for a walk--we could use fresh air and fun! I am also open to pet sitting—I have my own reliable transportation. I’m currently taking a break from working in healthcare and have more time to spend doing other things I love such as being around and caring for animals. I have my own reliable transportation to get to wherever is needed such as your home, a dog park, the vet, etc. I am open to care for, sit, and/or walk (if you have a dog or harness/trained cat) your furry friend!
“Shelley was wonderful! She followed every direction to a tee, and left detailed messages with how each visit went. I also loved all the photos she provided for each visit! Would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for pet care.”

“I cannot recommend Kassy enough. My dog Roo is very shy and it takes a few extra steps for him to feel comfortable with someone. I am so thankful for her patience with Roo. She truly cares about him as if he were her own and for that, I am so grateful.”

“Corey was timely, communicative, and friendly. Cory responded to a last minute request quickly, and with a lot of Grace and openness. I am very grateful for Cory's service and look forward to booking with him in the future!”

About: I have always been an animal lover, talking care of my own dog while helping friends, family members, or neighbors with their furry family members! I have owned 3 dogs total (two labs and now have my Great Pyrenees mix, Minnie🫶 who lives with my parents) but have also fostered 7 different dogs so have vast experience with different dog breeds, behavior patterns, and play styles! I would love to spend some time and help out with you and your pet:) I am a current masters student so my schedule varies but most school days are just a few hours in the morning or afternoon. I love to be active and would love to take your dog with me whether that’s on a run/walk or maybe the dog park! I treat my dogs like family and would love to do the same for you. Belly rubs, cuddles, or just playing with a toy, your dog will get the best care🫶

About: I have dog sat my friend’s dog, her aunt’s dog, and my sister’s dog. Dog sizes range from small to large. I love taking dogs for walks. I also love snuggles just as much. :) I would be available Thursday night after 5:30 to Sunday evenings. The front and side doors are both locked on the building at all times. Only homeowners have keys. I have stayed in other people’s houses as well. “I wish I could give even more of a tip (rover won't let me give more than 30%), but Monica did an amazing job today. My dog had an accident in the house and she cleaned it up even though she didn't have to. Words cannot describe how awesome Monica is. 12/10 would recommend to anyone.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - West Des Moines
I hired Abby to walk my dog, Bear while we were out of the country for 2 weeks. Our regular animal sitters work during the day and Bear is used to going to work with me during the day so I wanted to have a break for him. Even when he was being stubborn and wouldn't walk for her, she'd still try, spend time with him and make sure he was happy and cared for. I appreciated her flexibility in tending to his needs, even if it wasn't the walk she was expecting. She's great to communicate with and very good to our animals

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
