About: I used to walk a Yellow Lab when her owner broke her arm. I have volunteered at the ARL and was in the "walking the pavement" program. I am currently looking for a PT job so I have plenty of time to play with your dogs! I love walking dogs and playing catch with them My cat is very friendly and loves everyone! She makes friends with other animals easily. She was best friends with my Boxer until her passing. I live in a Condo so I don't have a private backyard but am willing to stay in your home
“Jordana has been a great walker for my stubborn 11 year old Shihtzu. She has been incredibly patient and has spent time building a relationship with Ellie so that Ellie is now comfortable walking with Jordana. Jordana asks questions to ensure that she is meeting my expectations and caring for Ellie appropriately. Highly recommend!!”

“Cory was a fantastic walker and play buddy for Koda! He was willing to come and meet koda ahead of time and get to know him! We will definitely use Cory again!”

“Shelly and her daughter, Avery have been walking Jack going on two weeks. Jack and his mom love them!! Thanks for showing up and taking such very good care of Jack!❤️”

“Stephanie is great! She's very calm and collected and you can tell right away she has a lot of valuable experience with dogs. After their first walk, I can already tell my dog Louie is in love with her!!”

“Jessica was great! She took time out of her night to come visit Koda the night before she walked him and see how they did with each other! She was also a great walker and was willing to just hang out with him outside of his kennel and play with his toys! We will definitely be going back to Jessica again!”

About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has grown into my adulthood even more. I have a passion for learning and understanding all different types of animals. I am currently a full time college student with a a lot of time on my hands. If I’m not studying I am taking care of your fur babies. I love nature and love company during a nice walk. “Libby did such a wonderful job in taking care of our dog while we enjoyed a long weekend. She was very thorough and made it her priority to make sure he was well cared for while we were away. Looking forward to using her again, and our dog will be to!”

About: I have taken care of dogs of all sizes small to extra large as well as cats and even some exotic pets. I have been the go to sitter for my friends and family every time they go on vacation. I love caring for animals and can’t wait to help you with yours. I am experienced with animals- puppies to elderly dogs, kittens to elderly cats. I homeschool my kids so I have a very flexible schedule and can work with what you need. I mostly have open afternoons and Friday through the weekend. While I’m taking care of your pet I will do all I can to assure they are taken care of physically as well as emotionally offering love, play and exercise, whatever it is they need that day. Every pet is different and I will work with you to ensure they are getting what they need from me, walks, pets or play.
About: We always had dogs growing up. I’ve had my own dog for 4 years. I love being around dogs and want to show yours as much love as I show my own. I work from home 2-3 days a week. I’m also available for overnight boarding depending on the night and weekends. Just ask if I’m available! I have a fenced in backyard. Your dog is welcome on beds and furniture. My house and property is very dog friendly for all types.
“Jerad is the most flexible and attentive sitter I've had the pleasure of working with. He'll do his absolute best to get a feel for your dog and work with their particular temperament and needs, and he always rights the most detailed reports of every walk or visit. Highly recommend for your next doggy needs!”

“My Harper went on a walk with Abby, I received a picture while they were on their walk, and Harper looked like she was smiling. You can tell Abby loves animals and she is the perfect match for us.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs but more recently have been watching friends and families dogs (including a young lab puppy). Tell me everything about them so I can make them feel more comfortable! No detail is too small. My weekdays and weekends are very flexible for walks and/or check-ins. Please see my schedule for booking—multiple visits per day is no problem for me. I cannot provide home boarding, but I can be flexible enough to spend as much time as you want with your fur baby at your place!
“Troy was absolutely amazing with my small dog Luca. Provided a ton of photos, a fabulous update that gave me all the details, and was so warm and loving to my fur baby.”

About: I’ve spent years caring for and training my own two dogs, so I understand that every pup has their own personality and needs. My experience working in a kennel gave me hands-on knowledge of dog behavior, group play, and handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Whether your dog is a playful puppy or a gentle senior, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for—just like my own. I’m currently attending graduate school in Des Moines, which gives me a flexible schedule to care for your pets throughout the week. I have time in the mornings, between classes, and in the evenings to walk, play with, and check in on your furry friends. Spending time with dogs is one of the best parts of my day, and I always make sure each pet gets the attention and care they deserve. My pets are definitely spoiled, and I’ll treat yours the same way! I live alone, so there’s plenty of space for your pet to relax and feel comfortable. I also live near several beautiful trails that are perfect for long walks and outdoor adventures. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and love—just like part of the family.

About: My family have had bernese mountain dogs for 14 years and I have dog-sat for some very energetic golden retrievers, so I have encountered both ends of the dog-energy-spectrum! I currently work full time, so I am looking for opportunities on the weekend to help out some folks with walking their dogs! I would love to incorporate this into my weekly routine! I am currently not able to provide at home services or dog sitting. I will happily take small to medium sized dogs on their walks, though!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
