“Iliana is an attentive pet walker and sitter that will take wonderful care of your pet. She'll remember all of your instructions perfectly and demonstrates impeccable flexibility to adapt to circumstances on the fly.”

“Shelly was terrific! As a first time user of Rover I was very happy with her communication & attentiveness to my directions. Jack is a senior cat & needs extra TLC & Shelly didn’t disappoint.”

“Mary was incredible! My dogs loved her and I felt at peace knowing they were in her care! She was always on time and went out of her way to take amazing care of them! I loved receiving all the pictures and updates on them. Mary is very sweet and trustworthy. I will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future! :)”

“Heidi was so wonderful to work with! She was great at communicating and while we were gone, our heater breaker flipped off and she quickly helped identify it and fix it. Our cat Pearl was well cared for while we were away and we would gladly book Heidi again!”
About: I am specifically good with cats, but I love all animals! I love playing with and walking dogs, as well as cuddling and petting kitties. I nanny Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:00am-5:30pm weekly, and also work part time at a retail store. My day-to-day schedule varies, but is fairly flexible. My typical shifts are 10-4, or 1-8 Fri-Tues. With enough notice, I can make most anything work :) I treat all pets gently, and approach with care and intention. I want your pet to feel safe and comfortable with me, so I'll do whatever needed to make sure they are at ease!
“Talia was so great and easy to work with. She offered to meet our cat before our scheduled appointments, and he took to her so quickly! She was great with communication and left us plenty of photos. We are excited to use her again in the future!”

“Troy has been nothing but amazing, not only with our dog but with everything he does! Our pup is a bit people selective and moose was comfortable in no time due to Troy being patient and knowledgeable about how to handle a more reactive dog. My husband and I would 100% recommend him to take care of your furry friend too! He is always on time and makes sure he leaves the house cleaner then when he got there!”

About: I am taking a break from working in healthcare and have two pet kitties of my own plus a bonus pet beagle with my grandparents, so I am not only dedicated to helping people, but I love helping our furry friends too! I’d love to take your furry loved one(s) for a walk--we could use fresh air and fun! I am also open to pet sitting—I have my own reliable transportation. I’m currently taking a break from working in healthcare and have more time to spend doing other things I love such as being around and caring for animals. I have my own reliable transportation to get to wherever is needed such as your home, a dog park, the vet, etc. I am open to care for, sit, and/or walk (if you have a dog or harness/trained cat) your furry friend!
“Sarah was great with our two cats. It was so nice to get pictures of her visits every day, and one of my cats snuggled with her in the couch after a couple of days of care. I’d definitely recommend Sarah!”

“Kassy is very gentle and quickly developed a good rapport with our anxious rescue, Rio. She’s easy to work with and very flexible. We’re grateful for her.”

“Jessica was fantastic! She really listened to our concerns beforehand and took everything we said into account. She gave us detailed reviews for each visit and was friendly to both us and our pets. We will absolutely be hiring her for petsitting again!”

“As expected Monica was great taking care of Ney during my vacations providing daily updates and many pictures. It makes me feel relaxed and confident on Ney’s wellbeing. Will book again for any upcoming time away without doubt.”

“Katherine did more than expected while caring for our boys. They were very happy and enjoyed her visits. All visits were right on time and great photos were sent to us. We would happily hire her again.”

“My animals love Cory. He goes above and beyond, even taking my ten year old Pom Lily home with him during tornado warnings. I never have to worry with Cory taking care of my animals. He’s very responsible and kind.”

“Stacy took really good care of my cat, Lily while I was away! I always hate leaving my cat when I'm away, but it was good to know that someone was taking such good care of her! I got updates everyday and Stacy would stay even longer than I asked her to play with Lily and make sure Lily was happy =)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Des Moines
We were truly lucky to have Dawn as our cat sitter for nine days while we were traveling outside of the US. From the very beginning, it was clear that she genuinely cared for Boogie and Ollie and treated them as if they were her own. She followed all of our detailed instructions carefully and kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. I know it can be challenging to care for pets in someone else's home, especially when there are many little routines and preferences to remember, but Dawn did a fantastic job. Our cats were happy, comfortable, and well cared for when we returned home. We sincerely appreciate her help, professionalism, and the kindness she showed to our cats. We would gladly trust her with Boogie and Ollie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Ashly was so kind & caring towards our elderly kitties while we were away. She stopped in twice a day to visit and give medications - they were definitely spoiled by the special attention! She let me know when one wasn’t acting normally and checked in an extra visit just to make sure all was well. Can’t wait to have her care for them again. 💕

Sarah was very helpful in accepting our last minute need for pet care! We needed someone to drop in and feed our sweet cat- Sarah went above and beyond and played with him and gave him lots of attention which I know he loved and needed. Plus, she sent lots of photos which we appreciate!

Simply the best! Vanessa went above and beyond to make sure the first time I ever needed a sitter was stress free for both my cat and myself. She updated me with pics, videos, and information about him using the potty and their activity time together. I booked with quite a late notice and she came in to save the day regardless! Highly recommend for exceptional care when needing to leave your furry friends at home.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
