“Angie was very responsive and easy to work with! I would absolutely use again. I was unfortunately in a poor service area, creating some communication issues and Angie was very patient and helpful through the process!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs but more recently have been watching friends and families dogs (including a young lab puppy). Tell me everything about them so I can make them feel more comfortable! No detail is too small. My weekdays and weekends are very flexible for walks and/or check-ins. Please see my schedule for booking—multiple visits per day is no problem for me. I cannot provide home boarding, but I can be flexible enough to spend as much time as you want with your fur baby at your place!
About: I’ve taken care of friends and neighbors pets from cats and dogs to ferrets. Some call me the animal whisperer as all have loved me as much as I have loved them. I grew up with cats and got a dog myself this last year. I work from home so anything needed is easy. Basil, my dog, and I walk twice a day so I can easily fit in your pets needs. I feel your pet is part of my family when it’s around. If there are specific needs that they require please let me know. But couch and bed snuggles are 100% allowed here.
“She communicated very well, was great at giving my cats shots and making sure everyone was happy and safe. My cats loved her! Will definitely be hiring Sarah again for future vacations!”

“I am so happy that I found Lisa on this app. She has been polite, prompt, great about communicating, and accommodating with my requests and the needs of my pets. She has provided great care for my two cats, taken the steps to get to know them on their terms, which has resulted with them feeling comfortable and safe with Lisa.”

“Shelly was so wonderful and attentive! She helped give me such good peace of mind that my dog was in great hands while I was away. Definitely recommend her!”

“Our pup absolutely loved Libby! It was our first time leaving our dog and Libby was the best! She made us feel so much better during our trip to know that someone was there taking such good care of our dog. Libby followed care instructions perfectly and gave so much love and playtime to our dog. She was prompt and gave the best updates with the cutest pictures! Highly recommend her! Thank you Libby!”

“Christina is truly caring and patient with our cat Spaghettio. She was so kind and made even such a shy cat warm up to her right away. She replies right away and always has your pets interest in mind. I highly recommend Christina!”

About: We always had dogs growing up. I’ve had my own dog for 4 years. I love being around dogs and want to show yours as much love as I show my own. I work from home 2-3 days a week. I’m also available for overnight boarding depending on the night and weekends. Just ask if I’m available! I have a fenced in backyard. Your dog is welcome on beds and furniture. My house and property is very dog friendly for all types.
“Jessica was fantastic! She really listened to our concerns beforehand and took everything we said into account. She gave us detailed reviews for each visit and was friendly to both us and our pets. We will absolutely be hiring her for petsitting again!”

“I can't recommend Kassy highly enough! She did an exceptional job taking care of Bella. Kassy was incredibly detailed in her updates, providing thorough reports and sending plenty of pictures, which really put our minds at ease. Bella was clearly well taken care of, and we're so grateful for Kassy's attentive care”

“Heidi was so wonderful to work with! She was great at communicating and while we were gone, our heater breaker flipped off and she quickly helped identify it and fix it. Our cat Pearl was well cared for while we were away and we would gladly book Heidi again!”
“Troy helped us out in a pinch today and was able to add an additional drop-in at the last minute. Our golden retriever has a mind of her own and he successfully navigated her routine. I will definitely contact Troy again.”

“Mary is a friendly pet lover who took great care of my 3 year old English Bulldog and 13 year old cat. She was a great communicator and sent pictures during her time with my pets.”

About: I’ve taken care of animals off and on throughout my childhood, and most recently raised and trained a puppy. Neighbors, friends and family have counted on me to be dependable for walks, meals, play dates etc. and I love being there for a pup just like they are for us. Your pup will be sure to get lots of attention, play dates with other dogs at my apartment, walks along the trail or hikes, and belly rubs. I will take care of your fur baby as if they were my own. Available for multiple walks a day, and on a hybrid work schedule which makes it easy to take good care of your pup while you’re away. I live in a dog friendly apartment complex that has big areas for your pet to roam and play with other pups. I am mindful of each pet’s needs when watching them.

Shelly is absolutely wonderful and made sure my fur baby Jazzy was very well-taken care of while I was out of the country on vacation! She sent lots of daily pictures, gave me great updates, and spent a lot of time with her daily. Anyone would be lucky to have Shelly pet sit for them! Will definitely be calling her the next time I go out of town! ☺️

Sarah was a reliable sitter, she came every day to see our two cats, Squash and Noodle. She took really good photos of them and they seemed like they were enjoying her visits with them. She played with them every day. We were gone for two weeks and were really nervous about being gone from them for so long. Our cat, Noodle, had recently been having bouts of cystitis every other week for reasons we haven't determined and we were worried that our last minute vacation would trigger another bout. We had a big cage set up for Ms Noodle and had Sarah let her out during her visits. After the first week, Sarah was prompt in letting us know that ants had gotten into Noodle's food and that she hadn't gotten cystitis yet. So we had Sarah just keep her out of the cage the rest of the vacation. Sarah also went and found our ant traps and put one in the cage and locked it to take care of the problem. She made sure that the cats feeders were working properly and made sure they had fresh water and clean litter every day. We really appreciated her help last minute since we had only a week to plan our trip.

We were truly lucky to have Dawn as our cat sitter for nine days while we were traveling outside of the US. From the very beginning, it was clear that she genuinely cared for Boogie and Ollie and treated them as if they were her own. She followed all of our detailed instructions carefully and kept us updated, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. I know it can be challenging to care for pets in someone else's home, especially when there are many little routines and preferences to remember, but Dawn did a fantastic job. Our cats were happy, comfortable, and well cared for when we returned home. We sincerely appreciate her help, professionalism, and the kindness she showed to our cats. We would gladly trust her with Boogie and Ollie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Ashly was so kind & caring towards our elderly kitties while we were away. She stopped in twice a day to visit and give medications - they were definitely spoiled by the special attention! She let me know when one wasn’t acting normally and checked in an extra visit just to make sure all was well. Can’t wait to have her care for them again. 💕

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
