About: My grandfather was a veterinarian for 50 years. I fortunately got to grow up living with them & was able to see animals of all ages, shapes & sizes. I don’t think there was a day where I wasn’t with him at the office “helping” out (scooping poop and cleaning kennels). In my own adult life, i have 4 of my own animals who I treat better than myself 🤣 i love them to pieces and always do my best to ensure their needs are met. You can expect me to do the same for you! My 17 yr old man Tiger has some extra care needs so I am 100% comfortable with doing extra care needs for your animals. I’m a social worker that is able to make her schedule most weeks. I work from home a few days a week and am able to make a flexible schedule. You can trust me to provide for your animals as I provide for my own. I work for the State of Iowa & have passed a background check with no concern.
“Jaron was excellent with our cat. He paid her a lot of attention and was able to accommodate her medication schedule, as well as adapt to some of her behavior changes. We felt very comfortable leaving her in his care, and will gladly request his help in the future.”

“Adrianna was a life saver! She took great care of our young puppy (who is not easy to say the least) with very short notice! It was our first time leaving him with a Rover and Adrianna was very responsive and sent me pictures so I didn’t have to worry and I could enjoy my night! Definitely will be rebooking!! Pinto loves her too :)”

“Kendra is so wonderful! She noticed that my cat was out of food and gave him more for me. And my dog really emits her visits too! We’ll be requesting her services again, I highly recommended her if you need any help with your fur babies!! and... She is always right on time”
About: Hi! I'm Ross, I grew up having Labrador Retrievers as family pets and have always had a strong love of dogs. I like all dogs, big or small! I'm great at responding to a pets needs. I love to give them the attention and play that they want while maintaining appropriate disciple/doggie boundaries ( like not jumping up on strangers). I am good at reading dogs body language which helps to know if they are tired, playful, need to go to the bathroom, not feeling well, or just need some attention! Working from home gives me extra flexibilty to give the pups extra attention when they need it. Regardless of the setting I am able to follow the guidelines that you have set up for your pet. I look forward to getting to know your dogs!!
“Meagen is very responsive and an excellent communicator. She made an excellent first impression for this first time Rover user. We will definitely use her services again. You should too!”

“Zoe did a great job taking care of our big pit bull and our ornery terrier puppy this last week. She did an excellent job of letting us know when there were concerns, brought in packages from the porch, and even offered to clean up the muddy paw prints that our boys trekked in while we were gone. Definitely plan to use this service (and request Zoe if possible).”

“Austin was fantastic to work with a did a great job watching our kitties. He was able to get our shy kitty to come out with just 3 visits and some of our family hasn't even been able to see him yet. He sent great pictures and went above and beyond for us. Would highly recommend using Austin to watch your pets when out of town!”

“It was lovely having Emily take care of my pup Sol while I was away for a few days! Communication was great & made sure he was taken care of while I was out. Would be happy to have her dog-sit again anytime!”

About: Hi! I’m Emma, a reliable and caring pet sitter who loves spending time with animals. I recently returned from a year of traveling in Australia, where I used TrustedHousesitters to care for cats and dogs while exploring new places. This gave me experience following different routines, keeping pets comfortable, and forming bonds with animals from all over. At home, I have two dogs and two cats that I adore. Growing up with pets taught me the basics of feeding, grooming, and giving plenty of love. I’ve also cared for pets for neighbors, friends, and family, including senior dogs and those with special needs. Now that I’m back in the U.S., I’m excited to continue pet sitting and helping local pet owners have peace of mind while they’re away. My weekends are typically very open, so I’m often available for additional bookings, and I’m always happy to help with holiday visits when pet owners need reliable care the most. I’m incredibly reliable and flexible—just let me know in advance if you need my services. I give pets the same care and attention as they would receive at home—following their feeding and medication schedules, keeping things clean, and providing plenty of love and play. I focus on each pet’s unique needs to make sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ankeny
This was our very first experience using Rover, and Jaron did an excellent job caring for our two cats while we were away. He sent several photos and updates throughout the week, which gave us so much peace of mind. One of our cats also hurt herself while we were gone, and Jaron was proactive about calling to let me know what was happening and even offered to take her to the vet. I really appreciate him taking such good care of our pets and treating them like his own. If we go on another trip, I will definitely be booking with him again!

The care my kitties received was exceptional! Time was actually spent with them so they were able to warm up and get attention - and they loved their new friend. I enjoyed and looked forward to the pictures after each visit, they were always so cute and sweet. Communication was excellent, I didn't ever worry about the cats while we were away.

Sylvia won the trust of even our shyest with ease and our feeble old senior cat seemed not a bit stressed when we returned. It seemed like the pet areas were cleaner than we left them and all instructions were followed to a tee. The picture reports were fun and reassuring. 10 of 10.

Zoe did a great job taking care of our big pit bull and our ornery terrier puppy this last week. She did an excellent job of letting us know when there were concerns, brought in packages from the porch, and even offered to clean up the muddy paw prints that our boys trekked in while we were gone. Definitely plan to use this service (and request Zoe if possible).

Kady responded promptly to my sitting request! Once she arrived she was very calm and respectful to my dog who I explained is super nervous & timid the first time she meets anyone new. My dog had no issues with her. We will be using Kadys services in the future! 5/5 recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
