About: Hello! I’m a full-time high school teacher who loves animals… but my own dog passed away last year and for some reason I’m just not ready to get a new one. But I love dogs!! So, in the meantime, I am getting my pet love by dog-sitting. I mostly set this up to do over the summer when I was off work and super flexible, but I’ve decided to keep doing it some—with an emphasis on weekends and public holidays when I’m not at work :) I can do some weekdays, but we’d need to chat about it first. I have gotten a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment out of this so far (which is truly why I’m doing this) and plan to continue this until that stops (or until I decide to adopt a new furry friend who might need most of my attention). I grew up with dogs and have had a variety of breeds, shapes, sizes over the decades. I dog-sat during college and during grad school for friends, professors, and a few strangers I connected with on an older website (I feel like it was called care-dot-com for anyone who’s old enough to remember that). As someone who is a “bit” older, I’m reliable and have very little social life!! Perfect for you and your pet! I’m also super motivated to make your dog as happy as I can! I miss that aspect of having a pet—you take care of them and they keep you sane in this crazy world. Update: During the school year, I’m most available on weekends but can of course provide care in the afternoon and evening on a school/week day… just not as much as I can on a weekend or holiday :) I have a wire fenced yard (not a privacy fence). It’s not the biggest but I’ve also had a smaller yard! There are neighboring dogs, as well, so keep that in mind. As mentioned, no dog at the moment. I’m very careful with dogs in terms of behavior. I was raised to understand that the person is responsible for the dog’s behavior. This means paying attention, shortening the lead when needed, helping the dog feel secure, crossing the street, etc.

About: I have personally had a pet or 3 since I was 13 years old. I begged for a cat for years and once I got one, I never have been without at least one pet. I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.

I had cats growing up and currently have a cat, Ginger, who I have had for the last 9 years. As your dog sitter, I can provide enrichment via walks, playing, and basic tricks and skills you want me to work on with your dog. I can feed and refresh water bowls. “We have an incredibly shy dog. He is very leery of people and we have tended to not board him. Osvaldo and his family were AMAZING with our dog. They were petting him, he was sleeping at their feet, and they were taking him for walks in the park--something he never does well. We loved all the updates, his home was set up for taking care of dogs, and he had other dogs to play with while we were gone--something he loves. I think Osvaldo is a dog whisperer. Magic--sheer magic! Even our dog trainer couldn't get these results from him. We are forever indebted and will use him again!”

“Savannah and her husband did an amazing job (and on very short notice) watching our dog while we were gone over the weekend. Not only was she prompt and attentive to my inquiries, she sent multiple pictures of our pup having a great time. He even came home behaving better! It was quite obvious that Savannah and Ben had loved up on him and taken great care of him. She and her husband were very calm, competent and caring from the moment we first met them. They have a knack for taking care of dogs and did a wonderful job attending to our older dog’s needs. They also have a great fenced backyard for plenty of play, with lots of big shady trees to rest or nap under. About: I grew up with hunting dogs and in home dogs. Can give meds and shots. Peaceful loving home with a yard for exploring. Couch cuddling. I am a retired teacher. Looking for cuddling and care for your pet, I have plenty of of time and much love to give them. Day will be spent with dedication to your pet needs and wants. Will care for their health needs and emotional. Will follow your advice and direction.
