“Sonia did an amazing job taking care of Mona for 2 weeks! Mona was so happy staying at her place! Sonia sends photos and update very frequently and responds quickly. She also did some training with her on leash walking and it’s very helpful.”

“Faviano provided the best dog sitting environment ever. He sent great photos, regular updates, and was flexible and responsive. He obviously loves dogs.”

“Winnie had a wonderful time with Melissa! It was only Winnie's second time staying overnight away from home, and Melissa's care, proactive communication, and photos put me at ease while traveling. Winnie came home happy and well-cared for, and I am so appreciative!”

“Shelley was so great taking care of my dog as usual. She sent regular updates, and I could tell really cared for my dog. She was also accommodating when I had to change my pickup time. Would highly recommend her!”

“Annabel was amazing! She was incredibly accommodating and flexible with our last-minute boarding booking request. Throughout Troi’s stay, she kept us updated with frequent messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. We especially appreciated the one-on-one attention she gave Troi. She can be a little particular, prefers individual attention, and requires daily medication. Annabel was attentive to all of her needs, made sure her medication was given, and spent plenty of quality time with her so she felt comfortable, loved, and right at home. It never felt like Troi was a burden and was clear she was genuinely cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter and will absolutely be booking with Annabel again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“We are very happy to have met Remo on Rover. He takes wonderful care if our two pugs and tbey come back healthy and content. And Remo offers up extra help, as when we needed more time. We will always call Remo first for our pugs' needs.”

“Henri had a great weekend at Paulina’s! She came out to greet us and then took the leash and introduced Henri to her home-he was so comfortable with her from the start. Our dog has hardly been away from us in his 7 years and I was a little nervous about leaving him with someone new, but I soon realized I had nothing to worry about. Paulina is a very relaxed person and sent updates and adorable photos each day. It made me happy to see him look so at home with her. Don’t let her lack of a backyard discourage you-Henri was happy and tired when we picked him up. We will call on her whenever we need a dog sitter for when we visit our daughter in SF. Paulina was an absolute lifesaver and we are so happy to have found her!”

“Jenna was so great watching our little Dachshund. She arrived almost 15 minutes early to our meeting point. I was worried because our dog had never been away from us . In addition he also has separation anxiety when I am not around. To our surprise he connected with Jenna right away and didn’t even notice when I sneaked away. She took care of our Elliott as if it was her own per. I can highly recommend Jenna and will for sure book her again if needed. Thanks again so much Jenna for giving us an enjoyable night out.”

“Ivy took very good care of Mocha for 10 days. She sent me frequent updates and several pictures of Mocha. Mocha seemed very happy with Ivy and her family. 100% recommend her.”

“Terry and her husband were so kind and caring. My dog is often anxious in new situations and it was so nice to see her at ease in the photos and playing with Terry's dog! I will definitely book again.”

“First time i’ve had someone other than my friends watch my dog, took time for me to find the right fit! Met Ingyin at a dog park, with her dogs and mine hit it off, all three are quit chill. She sent photos and videos, daily updates that really eased my stress. I would highly recommend Ingyin to take care of your fur baby. I will be a returning customer!”

“David was amazing, and I can't thank him enough for all the kindness he showed my little Yoshi. During my 12-day absence, he sent me updates and pictures, which reassured me. When I rang the doorbell to pick him up, Yoshi barked just like he does at home. This shows the level of trust and comfort he found with David. Thank you so much!”

“We had a fantastic experience with Derek and Solip taking care of Arlo for the weekend! They were super communicative, accommodating and easy going. They also gave frequent updates including photos and videos. Arlo had a great time and we will definitely be bringing him back in the future!”

“My pup had a great overnight stay at Julie's! Pick up and drop off was very smooth and she was a great communicator/quick responses. Will definitely be booking again!”

“Sam and Venkat took such great care of Bailey! They ask important questions to make sure they know exactly how to care for your dog. We felt completely comfortable while away because we knew Bailey was in good hands. Sam is also very communicative and gets back to you quickly.”

“My dog had a great time with Gabrielle and Patrick for the second time. They were able to book me pretty last minute and gave me nice updates throughout. I definitely will be using them again!”

“Celia was amazing with Marble! She watched him for a little over a week while I was away on a work trip. On day two, he rolled in poop (of course) and she handled it with ease by giving him a bath. She even tried to brush his teeth and trim his nails, which shows her dedication to giving the best care to her clients. She sent me multiple pictures every day, which honestly made such a difference while I was out of town. She was super flexible about pick-up on the last day too, and left a little treat in Marble’s backpack which was the sweetest touch. I felt totally at ease knowing Marble was with her. Would definitely recommend her and hope to book with her again!”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of Choo Choo! Communication was excellent, and you always responded quickly, which gave me peace of mind. I really appreciated the tour of your place, and I loved that you have a balcony where Choo Choo could hang out. You were also very accommodating with all of my requests. It was obvious that you genuinely cared about Choo Choo and wanted the best for him. I would definitely book with you again and highly recommend you to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.”

“Cristina & Ernesto were wonderful sitters! They are very responsive, flexible on timing, and sent cute photos all weekend! Bento came home very happy 😊”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - San Francisco
Sophie and her partner were great with my dogs and were able to take them with 10minutes notice after I was ghosted by a different Rover dog sitter right before my flights. The sent plenty of photos and got plenty of exercise given my dogs have been sleeping all morning :). You can always tell if they’ve had a great time as their stress levels were very low on pick-up. Will be happy to have them watch my dogs again.
Ingyin is a spectacular communicator—always responding right away. I left my dog with her right after he had been to the vet and was prescribed eye drops. She gave me plenty of updates while I was away and when I picked him up his eye looked great! Excited to book her again.

Char has taken great care of our pup. She is communicative and reliable. Buchi was taken good care of not only by her but her parents as well. Buchi seems to enjoy their company while we were on a trip. He even had some kids that met and played with. Char also provides us timely updates, photos and videos. Whenever unsure, she asked us first to better attend Buchi’s needs. Thank you, Char! We will definitely have you again to take care of Buchi. 🤍

Loki had a great time with Ashley & Martin! They took him for walks and gave him lots of love and cuddles every day. They also sent us updates about his day and photos. We felt like Loki was in good hands while we were on vacation and would highly recommend Ashley & Martin for dog sitting!

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
