Cuddly cat and dog sitter 💗
I live with my husband and young daughter and our family loves caring for animals! Please let us love your special pet while you're away! We have experience with kittens, active cats and dogs, and senior cats and dogs with declining health. We are very experienced with administering medication and providing support to animals with age and mobility challenges. For dog walking and checking in on your pet while you're away: I love going on walks throughout the city and spending a lot of time outside at many of SF's amazing parks. Why not take your pup with me? I work remotely Thursdays and Fridays, so if you'd like to set up an extended drop in stay during the day, let's chat and see what we can set up to meet both of our needs. For pet visits and stays in my home: I live within walking distance of both the Presidio and Golden Gate Park so we're able to give walks and exercise that best fits your pet. I also have a fenced in patio for cats who enjoy a sunny nap outside, and a fenced in backyard for pups who like to sniff around or take frequent potty breaks. Our house is pet friendly including lots of soft places to lay and relax in a sunny window or pet-friendly couch. I work from my home office and take frequent walks around the neighborhood for exercise and to run errands, so taking your pet out and about fits seamlessly into my routine. Things we have here to use during your pet's stay if you don't want to bring your own: - Litterbox - Food and water bowls - Blankets - Cat tree - Dog Leash

This was my very first time leaving my kitten Birdie and I am so grateful for Kara & Val!! Birdie was immediately welcomed in as part of their family and was showered with attention and playtime for the entire weekend. I was more than a bit anxious leaving my baby but Kara was so reassuring and felt much more at ease leaving Birdie in her care. I appreciated all the regular updates and pictures, which helped calm my nerves while I was away. Will definitely be booking Kara & Val again!

This was our second time having Petunia stay with Kara and Val and we once again only have good things to say! We were gone 10 days and Kara and Val were so flexible and accommodating in picking Petunia up at our friends house initially. Kara always provides the most thoughtful and sweet updates which we look forward to reading each night. We were so happy that petunia remembered Kara Val and Mae and had a great week with them. 🥰
Kara and Val were a godsend when we needed a last minute sitter for our pup. Kara was prompt and responsive in setting up a meet & greet where she got to talk with us and get to know Petunia a little bit. We were nervous as it was our first time leaving her, but she warmed up to Kara, Val and their adorable daughter Mae quite quickly! Kara was great about sending updates and photos and made us feel secure, at ease and able to enjoy our time away. Cannot recommend them enough 🐶😁

Schedule
I work from home most of the week with a very flexible schedule and take frequent walks around the neighborhood for exercise and to run quick errands. I also live within walking distance of the Presidio, the off leash dog park at Mountain Lake Park, and Golden Gate Park so I'm able to give your pup as much exercise as they need throughout the day. My availability does not currently include Monday - Wednesday, but for cats needing a longer stay (a week or more) let's talk! I may be able to make arrangements to accommodate your cat's schedule needs.

Safety, trust & environment
I take pet care, health, and comfort very seriously. I will ask you questions about your pet's needs and preferences so that I can give the best care for them. These questions include food, potty, and rest schedule or queues for me to look for that are unique to your pet, preferences for play and affection, any rules that you prefer I follow (for example: specific commands or release words to eat), any medications or treats and how/when to give, etc. I used Rover for cat sitting services before I became a sitter and I loved communicative sitters who took many photos and gave detailed updates. I will be sure to give you plenty of information about how your pet is doing while you're away so you can feel confident about their care, but I will also be mindful to not message you too often so that you can enjoy yourself!
Pets
A typical day
For pups, days with me are filled with lots of outside time either in my backyard or walking around the neighborhood and the nearby parks. I also take walks to run quick errands like picking up my child from school or running to the corner store. I have fabulous nails for top tier scritches, and lots of comfy blankets and furniture to nap off outside time. For cats, I have a very active outdoor bird feeder with great window views for entertainment in between meals and naps. I have a cat tree and an optional hideaway area that I can set up for your cat to have options while they grow more comfortable with me and my family. I work from home with a very flexible schedule so I'm able to provide lots of love, cuddles, and playtime!
