“Stephanie took great care of our pets while we were away! She sent updates, kept in touch throughout the stay, and left our house in great shape. I would happily book her again!”

“Lisa stayed in my apartment for a long weekend. I received pictures of my dog, Phoebe, updates and check ins. She communicated well and Phoebe was very happy after her stay.”

“Rachel did a great job housesitting for our two kitties who are a bit demanding. She took care of our mail, trash, packages, and other people coming and going from our home while we were gone. Highly recommend hiring her if you want peace of mind while on your vacation. Will use her again for upcoming trips.”

“Madeline provided the absolute BEST care over the weekend to our two dogs Oakley and Paisley. Oakley is especially energetic and not always easy to deal with but she quickly gained his trust and was so good with him! She showed so much love and kindness to them. She took care of our house and spent a lot of time with our pups so that we could have a fun weekend out and we didn’t have to worry about them for one second! She went above and beyond helping to keep the yard/house clean and even drew us an absolutely stunning piece of artwork of our dogs! We are so thankful to her and would have her watch them anytime. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone! :)”

“Lucy was great! Super attentive to our needs with the dogs and the house! She was super respectful of the property and I loved her updates and pics of our doggos while we were out on vacay. Will definitely be booking her again!”

“Katherine did an excellent job watching my 3 dogs while we were away for 5 days. She kept me updated during the week which was very appreciated. And our house was so clean when we got home which was awesome! I will definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember, and spending time with pets genuinely brings me so much joy. Whether they’re furry, scaly, feathered, or even a little slimy haha, I love getting to know every animal’s unique personality. Friends, family, and people around me often trust me as their go to pet sitter because they know their pets will be cared for with patience, love, and attention like they’re my own. I’ve got a really flexible schedule since i’m doing online school at the moment as well as working a part time job. I’m available just about anytime to help out. I treat every pet like they’re my own and do my best to keep them comfortable, happy, and sticking to their normal routine while you’re away. I also treat every home with respect and leave things exactly as I found them. My goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
“Payton was amazing. She took care of our two French Bulldogs and was very attentive and communicative, incredibly professional, and you can tell she really cares about animals. She really went the extra mile taking care of our home in ways we didn’t expect. We would highly recommend her and will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“Judi was great with our nervous pup who hates to be alone. She was a very conscientious houseguest and communicated with us regularly about how our girl was doing. We're really happy we booked her.”

“My cat and dog liked Jackie from the minute they met her. She sent pictures which put my mind at ease. She had kind and observant comments on their personalities which let me know that she really had spent plenty of time with my fluff babies. Everything was done through the Rover app, which TBH wouldn't have been my first choice since I'd never used it before, but I came to like having it all in one place and the app pushed to my email and phone messages so nothing was missed. A great experience.”

About: I have done dog walking and house sitting for my neighbors for years. When I was a kid, I would run around and do it for free because I just loved dogs so much! I carry that love with me as I now have three dogs of my own to look after-a new puppy to train, a 6 year old, and a 15 year old. I have experience in training puppies and experience in caring for senior dogs. I have had a passion for this sense as long as I can remember. I love it! I am currently living at home for the summer, and I am looking to stay busy doing something I love! So, I will bend my schedule however it is needed in order to dog sit, dog walk, or however else I can help. Any day, any time. However someone wants me to take care of their pet in their home, I am open to anything. I will follow the instructions given, provide consistent communication and updates, and always ensure that the home is respected.
“Biiftuu was an excellent dog sitter. She clearly took good care of my little Aussie poo. She sent good pictures and left the house in excellent shape. I would hire her again.”

“She was a total lifesaver for me! I had a last minute dog sitter cancel due to health issues. And Sue was able to set up a meet and greet and commit to watch my pups, just 4 days before my trip! She is an amazing dog sitter! She text me before I left to make sure my flight was on time and messaged me with photos when she arrived and several times throughout the trip. She left my house spotless clean and made sure my travel arrangements home were in progress and that I would make it home on time before she left my house for the last time. All-in-all I am incredibly grateful to Sue for helping me out if a jam, and for being so good to my babies. I will definitely use her again!!”
“Emma did an AWESOME job! She kept us updated with pictures and our cat who never trusts anyone was totally content and happy with Emma and hung out with her all weekend. One of our dogs has to take medication and Emma was very professional and had all the medical stuff under control. Emma did a fantastic job and we will absolutely ask her to watch our two dogs and cat again!”

“Ava is a go to for us! She takes such great care of our 2 labs, Lola and Daisy. Ava shares photos and communicates well. She takes care of things at the house when needed. We really appreciate Ava being our go to.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodbury
Vikki was a wonderful home and pet sitter, and great communicator. She took excellent care of our dogs, cat, and chickens for a long weekend. She left our home better than she found it, and was accommodating with scheduling to make sure we made it home with no delays. We hope to welcome her back, and highly recommend her!!

Rachel was wonderful! I could tell by the way my dog Ole reacted when she came back a couple of days later to retrieve something she'd forgotten. He went right up to her for cuddling. : ). Rachel sent updates and pictures of Ole and Panda and contacted me with questions. I will definitely book Rachel again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodbury walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodbury. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
