Kirsten is a dog sitter extraordinaire! My little dog is aging and quite neurotic, he has a hard time when I leave him even for just a short period of time. Ordinarily it takes him a long time to calm down after I return home following an absence, however brief. When Kirsten has been here taking care of him while I’m gone, my dog’s anxiety is not nearly as severe. I’m not sure what kind of canine magical Mojo Kirsten has, but whatever it is is very effective. I highly recommend person for any of your pet sitting needs.
This is the second time Stephanie has stayed with my dogs and this was a much longer trip. Stephanie is so conscientious, sends updates, takes care of the house and leaves everything just as I left it. My dogs absolutely love her and were sad to see her go!! Will definitely be using her from now on!
One of my kitties was displaying some issues with appetite/ food shortly before our trip. Annie provided regular updates, cleaned up a barf incident, and followed instruction on how to modify the food plan to support our sensitive kitty. It was comforting knowing that Annie was there to evaluate and report out so we could decide if a very issue was emerging or if she was just having a few off days. (PS everyone is doing great now!)
Laura house-sits for our dogs when we are away. She is great with them and they really like her. We hate to leave our dogs behind when we're travelling, but sometimes it can't be helped and knowing that Laura is staying at the house with them helps. She sends us periodic updates with photos of them which we love.
This was our first time using Rover and we were nervous, but Madeline eased all of our worries! She was so fantastic with our dog - our dog loved her. We appreciated the photos and updates that Madeline sent. We will definitely be booking with Madeline again in the future!
Jamie did a fabulous job with our 2 goldens, cat and gekcos. 2 of our pets are older and needed more attention than normal, particularly our older golden who needed regular meds. She also stayed on top of watering the garden and plants in the heat. Left our house clean and did the laundry and trash! Very pleased.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
