“Bailey was great! Very thorough communication and quick responses to all my questions. She sent plenty of pictures over the weekend and cleaned up the house before she left. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Rachel did a great job housesitting for our two kitties who are a bit demanding. She took care of our mail, trash, packages, and other people coming and going from our home while we were gone. Highly recommend hiring her if you want peace of mind while on your vacation. Will use her again for upcoming trips.”

“Jessica was wonderful with our two dogs. She was very communicative and made me feel comfortable that my dogs were well taken care of. This made it so easy to just focus on enjoying our vacation!”

“Katrina did a great job with the three cats, and administering a topical medication that they are not keen on receiving. I got plenty of pictures of the cats throughout her stay. It's our first time using Rover and everything went as perfectly as could be.”

“Kelsey stayed with my anxious furbaby over the weekend and it went great! She provided daily updates and photos that totally eased any worry! It was comforting to know that my pup was well cared for while I was gone- I will for sure have Kelsey stay again in the future!”

“Christine did an excellent job caring for our two dogs and house. We were greatful she was willing to house/dog sit for us when we had a last minute family emergency pop up.”

“Kirsten was fantastic with Maple while we were gone for the week. She sent lots of pictures and I could tell Maple was happy when we returned. Kirsten also was incredibly helpful housesitting with water plants and feeding the fish. She also helped us navigate the AC going out during a heatwave and made sure Maple didn't get too hot.”

About: I recently retired early, sold my small business, and am excited to spend more time doing something that has always been a big part of my life - caring for and loving animals. I have been a pet mom and caregiver for many years, looking after furry friends of every age, personality, and quirk. I have 2 kitties, one who is an outgoing crazy character and the other sweet and shy. We sadly lost our Goldendoodle recently and I'd love to share cuddles and walks with your dog(s). I am reliable, patient and calm - and treat every pet with the same affection and care I give my own. I recently retired so my schedule is very flexible for daily drop-ins, overnight stays, walks, playtime, and cuddles. Have a last-minute trip or unexpected work meeting? I have the time and treats! When caring for your pets, I put their safety and comfort first. With many years of experience caring for pets, I know that each is unique, with different personalities and comfort level with new people. I treat every animal as if they were my own. My goal is for everything to feel just as safe, calm, and familiar as when you are there. I follow your routines closely, keep your home tidy, and pay attention to all of the little things that help your pet feel secure. What sets me apart is that during my career, I traveled quite a bit and hired pet sitters to stay with my kitties and dog. I know, from a client's perspective, what was important to me and my fur babies. I will send you daily updates and photos (unless that's not your preference), so you and your pets can feel completely comfortable and stress-free.
“Paige was easy to communicate with and made me feel comfortable leaving my dog in her care. He is high anxiety and she did great with him and he was in great spirits when I got home.”

“Judi was great with our nervous pup who hates to be alone. She was a very conscientious houseguest and communicated with us regularly about how our girl was doing. We're really happy we booked her.”

“We are so thankful for Jacqueline who took amazing care of our dog while we were gone for a week. After a year of us working from home our dog now experiences separation anxiety - but being able to stay home and have someone as loving as Jacqueline take care of him not only gave us peace, but our dog too.”

“If you want a worry, free time away from home, John is your guy. He spent a week with our golden retrievers, in our home. He sent frequent updates and pictures. It’s apparent that he has an affinity for dogs! When we arrived home, the house was tidy and clean just as we had left it. I will feel at ease requesting John’s dog sitting services in the future.”

About: When my friends go on vacation, I am the first person they call to petsit! Animals warm up to my calm demeaner quickly, and I've been told by pet owners that their shy animals have never been so friendly to a new person so fast before. I have experience caring for cats & kittens, dogs, and birds. I am very patient and gentle with animals, seeking to understand their physical and vocal cues to know what they need. I am also an expert at playing fetch and tug of war with dogs, and my expertise with cat feather wands means the cat usually gets tired before I do. I love walking, so it's a bonus if your pup wants to come with! I am a graduate student at St. Thomas with a part-time tutoring job during the school year, so I have plenty of gaps in my schedule to care for your pet. This means that I can spend time during the day, night, and weekend with your pet, including returning home for potty or play breaks in between tutoring or classes, depending on the needs of your pet. I am also available to stay overnight with your pet, so long as they don't mind helping me with my homework! I am vigilant and aware while pet sitting, making sure I know where your pet is and never leaving any doors, gates, or windows open. For example, my friend lives in an apartment and has two kittens who like to escape into the hallway, so I also create a barrier when I open his front door to ensure they stay inside. His windows also don't have screens, so I make sure they are always shut and locked up tight. I love interacting with and talking with animals when they are around, so even if I am busy working on my own projects, I'll take frequent breaks to catch up with your pets and give them attention.
“Naomi did a great job watching our two dogs at our house for a weekend — she was responsive, responsible, and took great care of our dogs and home. She sent photos regularly, asked follow up questions when needed, and even managed to get our “cat-like dog” to warm up to her. The dogs were happy and well cared for upon our return. I would definitely book with her again.”

“Our pup seemed very relaxed when we got home which is usually not the case. From the pictures Haylee sent, I can tell Hatty really was comfortable with her! Will definitely use again”

“Dylan responded to our request within minutes of sending it. He and his wife Kayla did a wonderful job with our dog Evie. They sent several updates and plenty of photos to let us know she was being well cared for. It was an overnight stay and Dylan and Kayla left our house exactly as it was when we left.”

“Sharon was great, again! I came home to happy and healthy dogs and a clean house. Nothing was out of place. You can't ask for more. I also suspect my dogs gave her a hard time because they gave me a hard time when I got home but I received no complaints. Sharon will definitely be invited back.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Saint Paul Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Saint Paul Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Saint Paul Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
