We lost our wonderful dog, Titus, to cancer and we are excited to open our hearts and care for other dogs. We have 7 years of experience with a sick dog, so I'm very comfortable giving meds to animals. I grew up with animals and animals are drawn to me. I had many pets growing up including rabbits and a raccoon. I'm a high school social studies teacher who has more availability in the summer months and wants to spend some time with friendly dogs. I will walk briskly in your neighborhood or drive to a neighborhood park. I live in a quiet neighborhood on a dead-end street with my husband and young adult children. We will care for your dog as if it were our own and give it lots of hugs. We have been working with Rover for 6 years and have lots of experience with various cats and dogs. I will now be offering in-home services and am excited for this new adventure. I am a responsible adult and am willing to care for your pets in your home if you wish.

Laura came over to sit with and feed our dogs this afternoon as we were out of town for most of the day. She had been here recently, so they were very comfortable with her and she knew what to feed them and where to find their food and medications. It made our day easier because we had complete confidence that she would spend time with them, make sure they ate, had water and got out to relieve themselves. She also sat with them for a while and played fetch with our younger dog.
Laura house-sits for our dogs when we are away. She is great with them and they really like her. We hate to leave our dogs behind when we're travelling, but sometimes it can't be helped and knowing that Laura is staying at the house with them helps. She sends us periodic updates with photos of them which we love.
Laura is a great house-sitter. Our dogs like and trust her - they sleep with her when she's at our house and they hang out with her during the day. She likes them and they respond in kind.
Laura always gives us such a secure feeling that our dogs will be well cared for in her care. One of our dogs is elderly and declining - eats sporadically, is unstable on her feet at times, fading vision and hearing - and Laura made sure that she was safe and able to eat without interference from our other dogs - and kept us informed about what she was seeing and doing. She also takes great pictures of the dogs, so my wife and I go "awww" when we see them.
Laura was great. Both Sadie and Otto got along well with her and she was very competent and reliable. I highly recommend her.
Laura has great rapport with our dogs (and us!) and we just feel so comfortable leaving them with her for a few days while we are away.

Schedule
I work full-time as a teacher. Outside of work, I have plenty of time to play, walk and love your animals, especially on weekends. Would love to meet you before I make a decision.

Safety, trust & environment
When in your home I will follow your house rules, we will snuggle on the couch and be fed 2-3 times a day and have plenty of water. We will go for walks and play outside. If you don't have a fenced yard they will go outside with me on a leash. If it's too hot or too cold we will stay inside and be safe.
A typical day
I love to walk with dogs near my home in the green space nearby with woods and trails and lots of interesting things to smell. We also walk the streets. If your dog likes to play fetch we will throw the ball or toy and play chase of course all dogs love to be brushed and petted and snuggled with.
