About: I’ve cared for different kinds of dogs on a regular basis and for short periods of times as well. I can also check in on cats as well and feed them and make sure they’re okay. I work for the schools and I am currently on summer break right now so my schedule is extremely flexible. I have my own dog I care for as well but will definitely have the time to check in on your fur babies as well. I always check my backyard for critters before letting my dog out, especially at night. I personally get skunks in my area frequently and it’s a must. My dog has a doggy door and loves outside time but I always know where he is. I feed him and make sure he’s always comfortable. This is the same kind of care I would provide for your fur babies.
About: I’ve always had a pet at home, and now that I’m an adult, I have my own fur baby (cat). I love to give her lots of play time, treats, scratches, and snuggles. I would love to pass the love on to your animals as well! Family and friends always request that I take care of their fur babies while they are away and I would love the opportunity to take care of yours as well 🫶🏼 I’m here for whatever it is they need! I’m currently a server, and our restaurant doesn’t open until 3pm on the weekdays. Walking/visiting with an animal is the perfect way to fill my day before heading into work. I’m available until 2pm Monday-Thursday! Whatever guide lines you set out to take care of your animal is exactly what I will do. Keeping your pet happy and safe is my number one priority!

About: A college student looking to use my love for animals to help others. 4+ years of animal care, 2 years volunteering at Humane Society of Macomb, and a go-to for watching family pets. Flexible, caring, and detail-oriented. In my hands, your furry friend is guaranteed to be spoiled with love. I have class from 10-11:45 Mon-Wens and 2-3:25pm Tues-Thurs. And typically work retail Mon, wens, sat, sun. I always have Fridays off. And I’m completely free before class or in between work. My schedule is put out weeks in advance so I’m able to communicate what hours I’m available and not. I don’t offer at-home boarding since I don’t have a fenced yard, but I’m happy to care for pets in their own home where they feel most comfortable. I’ll tidy up after myself, stick to their routine, and make sure they’re having fun whilst still maintaining a happy, and safe, environment.

“Sarah is the best! She’s my go-to for any time I leave town! She’s more than happy to help, super flexible, and genuinely cares about my kitties! Will continue to book with her!!!!!”

“Genie was AMAZING with my medical/senior cat! We felt so so safe when they were in our home taking care of her while we were away. I have used Rover for years, but Genie truly has been the best. Rover cards were exceptional, but what really stood out was the communication. We are already looking forward to our next trip knowing they are available! If you have any needs for your animals, Genie is wonderful and I trust her with all of my pets. Thank you again Genie!!!!❤️”

“Angela was amazing! She was very communicative and punctual. She ensured that our cat got his medication twice a day and made sure to contact me with any questions. I was very hesitant about using Rover, but finding Angela put my nerves at ease. She provided great pictures and notes regarding our kitties. Already planning to book her for future vacations.”

“Alayna was amazing with our dogs while we were on vacation. She left us detailed notes and kept us informed along the way. She even helped out with the cats and brought our mail in ❤️ highly recommend her for your fur babies.”

“Karen is so wonderful with Bailey! She was very thorough during our meet-and-greet, and made note of everything. I would recommend Karen to any fur baby parents looking for reliable care when you are away.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Utica
Jo is incredible, and I feel so lucky to have found her. She takes such thoughtful, loving care of Jake every single visit. She plays with him, gives him tons of affection, and always makes sure he gets outside time to explore. I love that she even updates me on the things he forages in the backyard — it shows how closely she pays attention to him. She keeps his water fresh, gives him his ice‑cube snacks, and sends the cutest photo updates. I feel at ease knowing he’s with her. Thank you, Jo!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Utica stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Utica choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Utica with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
