“Shelby is phenomenal and I am so lucky to have found her! She’s thorough, professional, and her love of animals is evident. I always feel secure going out of town, knowing she’ll take care of my babies.”

About: I’ve been around pets for years, I take care of my brothers golden retriever whenever they go away for vacations along with drop ins when they need me. I have taken care of my brothers bull dog who has since passed away and I have a cat of my own. Currently I help my boyfriend’s family with their special needs dog. Administering medication and monitoring for seizures. In the past I’ve owned a guinea pig so I when a wide verity of pet care. I work from home and have all the time in the world to leave my house for a good time period and can come in and out When I watched other dogs I would go to their home and try to follow their routine so the animal feels nothing is changed and feel loved
“Kara was great with my cat, Cookie. I felt comfortable going out of town, knowing that she was very responsible and I could count on her to take care of Cookie every day. Thanks Kara !”

About: Skilled dog walker with many years of experience. I will treat your fur babies just like they were mine. I can give meds if needed. I am currently not working so I have plenty of time for those furry friends. I have a morning routine in my home of getting up and feeding the dogs and cats. If the weather is permisable, I take our 2 dogs on a walk. Afterwards, I can begin my day. I come to my clients home and take care of their beloved babies. While I stay at my clients home I treat it just like mine and make sure everyone is safe.
“Jo came to my rescue when last sitter needed to cancel for unforeseeable event. She agreed to a late meet and greet before the starting day. She was so patient with me explaining care detail of a new puppy. She stays longer every time, even helps me train my puppy. There is always very detailed feedback after each session, also gave me a in person evaluation session after a week of caring for my new puppy. I highly recommend Jo to pet parents with busy schedule or need help with your furry baby.”

“Samantha is wonderful with the dogs. You can see how much she really cares for animals. The photos and updates she sent were fantastic. I can't wait to book with her again.”

“Caitlin was great! Checked on my cat for a few days while I was out of town and sent photos and was super communicative through the whole process, I will absolutely use her again when I’m out of town in the future!”

“Zoe was very kind and took good care of our baby Luna while we were away on a weekend trip. She did a good job of communicating with us and taking pictures and sending us updates. We would definitely have her come over again in the future!”

About: I’ve cared for different kinds of dogs on a regular basis and for short periods of times as well. I can also check in on cats as well and feed them and make sure they’re okay. I work for the schools and I am currently on summer break right now so my schedule is extremely flexible. I have my own dog I care for as well but will definitely have the time to check in on your fur babies as well. I always check my backyard for critters before letting my dog out, especially at night. I personally get skunks in my area frequently and it’s a must. My dog has a doggy door and loves outside time but I always know where he is. I feed him and make sure he’s always comfortable. This is the same kind of care I would provide for your fur babies.
“Courtney was easy to work with. I was afraid my cat Demetri would hide on her first visit but he didn’t! She sent me pictures and reports each day. I knew he was happy. This was my first time with Rover. I will use them again. Courtney will give lots of care to your pet(s) while you are away.”

“Samantha is always fantastic with our senior cats who take blood pressure medication. She sends videos and gives detailed updates. She is a trustworthy pet sitter and we count on her every time we have the need for a sitter.”

About: I've owned and cared for dogs since I was 10 and have always had one or two dogs living in my house. I've raised several dogs and cared for them from puppy stages to their senior years. I've owned and cared for many breeds from golden retrievers to pitties, Chihuahuas and shepherds. I have never met a dog that hasn't become my friend. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Utica. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
