“Jennifer did a great job watching my cat! They made sure to play with her and pet her every day - I really appreciate that they were able to stop in while I was on my work trip. :)”

“Angie was wonderful with my 2 dogs! She did 2 drop in visits and we will definitely request her to care for our dogs in the future. She is very friendly and trustworthy. Thank you Angie, for taking great care of our dogs while we were gone!”

“As always, Cheryl did an amazing job on visits with our kitties. She always goes the extra mile and when our girl could not be seen for 24 hours (but she was eating her treats and food) Cheryl asked for permission to go through our house to locate her, which she did! We trust Cheryll 100% with our kitties and our home. Will continue to rebook with Cheryl when assistance is needed. We love her!!”

“Kristina provides excellent care for my two dogs. She is very flexible and put this anxious dog mom at ease when I suddenly had a massive change in my work schedule. Easy and consistent communication that I appreciate. I'll continue to use her for my dog care needs. Thank you Kristina!”

“Lindsay was quick to reply when we picked u[ our new family member that needed potty breaks while we work. She's dependable and has been great caring for our almost 12 week old Golden St. Berdoodle. We are heading into week 3 using her services and plan to continue for a long time with her.”

“Lily has helped us out three times now and we can’t say enough good things! She’s great with both of our dogs, takes tons of pictures, and is always letting us know how things are going throughout our trip! Lily is AMAZING!”

About: Dog-walking and pet-sitting were some of my first jobs when I was a kid. I have 10+ years of experience caring for cats and dogs for friends, family, and neighbors. My family always had pets while I was growing up so caring for animals is something I feel comfortable about and truly enjoy doing! Aside from walking and checking in, I have also stayed and taken care of pets for longer periods of time. I own a 5 year old beagle and 9 year old cat myself! I am a recent college graduate and I currently only work part-time during the week so I have pretty flexible availability for scheduling. I am also available most weekends. I am a pet owner myself and I know that they are like family. I understand it can be hard for both you and your pet while away and I like to provide communication and updates through text and pictures. I have experience caring for sick pets as well as those that require medication/ extra assistance.
About: I have cared for and owned all different kinds of animals. I have been in the horse riding industry since I was 8 years old so I am not skiddish towards other animals. I truly have a passion for animals and I am very able and willing to do what it takes to take care of your beloved pets!! I am currently a full time student, however I am a commuter so I have the ability to travel freely in between classes and outside of classes. I am on summer break from May-September and have a virtually free schedule for whatever you may need! I am more than happy to confine to whatever you may need me to do in order to give your pet the best care possible. I have slept over, done drop ins, walks, etc. with other dog and cat sitting jobs and I am very comfortable.
“Abby did an exceptional job with taking care of my boys. She was on time and communicated to me about how they were doing and sent photos too. I have already booked her for more visits and would like to continue to use her in the future.”
“Kelly was great with the dogs - we have two bigger males (70lb husky and 100lb husky mix). It's clear that she really enjoys pets and the dogs had a great time. We will definitely be booking her again. She was very friendly and informative for the visit.”

About: I have always grown up with cats and dogs, since I was very small. I love taking my dogs for walks and playing with them! My availability is very flexible, I work short hours, early in the morning and I'm home by noon. I am also a student at Oakland University during the fall-spring but can stop by to check in between classes I prefer to stay at the clients home to keep the pets comfortable and used to their schedule. I love to go for walks and spend time playing outside!
About: I grew up taking care of my family dog since I was little, but started getting my own pets when I was 11. I have cared for rabbits, puppies, kittens, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and even horses. I have always been the go to person for my friends at watching their pets. I am currently working part time and in graduate school at Oakland University so I would love to have something extra to fill up my spare time! I have two cats that I feed on a timed schedule daily and clean their litter boxes on a regular basis. They both require extra attention and loving that I am well versed in giving and will also put forth towards anyone else's pets.
“Jaimie is a seasoned pet caregiver, especially for seniors. Our senior dog loves her, and we know she is in good hands with Jaimie. Jaimie thoroughly clarifies the details of scheduling visits and is very thoughtful about ensuring things are going well.”

About: I want you to know that I have experience with giving animals pills. I have also watched dogs with trauma who have a hard time accepting new people because I have a calming presence. Not officially trained but have taken care of dogs through seizures and I'm always willing to learn more. I currently work full-time during the week between the hours of 3pm-10pm on monday and 1pm-10pm Tuesday through Friday so I am always willing to visit during the midday to check on your furry babies. I can always watch them if you have a weekend where you are away. I will not be able to take care of pets in my home because I am not allowed dogs and currently already have the max number of cats.
“Adina is super kind, dependable and attentive. A perfect match for our cat Lupe! Luckily she was available to book several drop-in visits with him. Thanks to her we were not concerned at all about the well being of Lupe while we were away, because she never left us hanging! We came home to a happy, loving kitty. Adina will definitely be on the top of our list whenever we might need someone to take care of Lupe in the future!”

“Lindsey was wonderful! Did she take care of my sometimes ornery cat, but she even washed the food dishes each day. It's always talk to trust a stranger to watch your pet but I would have no problem with Lindsey taking care of my cat Tano!”

About: I have taken care of my neighbors’ animals since I was nine years old. I often take care of their dogs for several days at a time while they’re away. I love taking care of animals and making them feel safe and cared for, despite their parents not being home. I have work 8-5 every weekday, but I can pet-sit afterwards and stop by during my lunch break! My weekends are completely free, so I can spend the whole day with your pet if they have more frequent needs. I have had experience from young puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats. I understand that every animal has differing needs, so I will do my best to accommodate to everything that will make your pet feel safe.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Washington. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
