“Angela was amazing! She took such great care of our pup while we were away. It was like we were there with them, she updated us regularly with pictures and detailed summaries. I highly recommend her and will absolutely use her again in the future!!”

“I've hired Deena a few times now, and she's been great every time. But I have to give her a special shout out because on this last trip, she needed to take my pet to the emergency vet, which is a pretty big unexpected thing to have to deal with, and she handled it perfectly and saved my baby's life. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients!”

“Samantha was fantastic! She ensured my cat took her daily medication and communicated everything that was happening while I was gone. She also kept me updated with pictures of all of my cats instead of just the one she was there to take care of 🤩”

“Up front I will say I don't trust many people with my doggies, but after meeting Cheryl I felt so comfortable. She is kind, compassionate and great with animals. She took the time to get to know them prior and asked questions to really understand their needs. I would 100% recommend and am so glad I have found someone I can trust to take care of my babies when I can't be here.”

About: I want you to know that I have experience with giving animals pills. I have also watched dogs with trauma who have a hard time accepting new people because I have a calming presence. Not officially trained but have taken care of dogs through seizures and I'm always willing to learn more. I currently work full-time during the week between the hours of 3pm-10pm on monday and 1pm-10pm Tuesday through Friday so I am always willing to visit during the midday to check on your furry babies. I can always watch them if you have a weekend where you are away. I will not be able to take care of pets in my home because I am not allowed dogs and currently already have the max number of cats.
“Jennifer is the best! She goes over and above! I will continue to use her to care for my fur baby! When I travel I’m completely relaxed knowing my pet will get the best care! Makes traveling much nicer for sure! Thanks so much Jen! You’re the best! ❤️”

“Gabi was absolutely amazing! She is incredibly reliable, sweet, and loving. Bazo and Luna can be shy around new people, but they felt comfortable with her right away, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She was always on time, responsive, and treated my cats with so much love and care. I would absolutely trust Gabi with them again and highly recommend her!”

About: I’m a dog daycare attendant as my day job and I’m a MSU Vet Tech student who’s on a gap year and looking to work with animals in the meantime! Animals are my passion and I strive to give them the best care daily :) I work as a dog daycare attendant during the evenings but I’m open anytime before noon for walks or playtime. Knowing kids are going back to school soon and parents will be working, I hope to help out with the morning chaos :) As someone looking to go into the veterinary field your pets care is my utmost priority. I consistently try my best to be as attentive as I can to the animals I work with to prevent any possible incidents from occurring. I understand your pet is part of your family and I wouldn’t treat them as any less :)
“Lily has helped us out three times now and we can’t say enough good things! She’s great with both of our dogs, takes tons of pictures, and is always letting us know how things are going throughout our trip! Lily is AMAZING!”

“Had Sarah do a drop-in visit with our 2 pups and she did an excellent job. Communications are effective and very professional. She does a great job of caring for our "boys".”

About: I am a true animal lover! I’ve had pets since I was little that I’ve helped take care of and have looked after pets for my family and friends. Having pets of my own that I love and care deeply for gives me a deeper understanding when it comes to someone else’s. Walks, play time, potty breaks or time spent loving on your furry friend is my helping goal. I have an open and flexible schedule, can care for your pets while away at work. Walks to tire them out, outdoor potty breaks, or playtime inside / out to ensure they aren’t bored or restless while you’re away. I’m open to walking any size dog however long needed and ensuring they’re properly cared for after the fact. I’m comfortable leashing and harnessing, as well as recognizing when a dog is ready to relax.

About: I have a long long history with dogs. I have had pitbulls all my life and I will forever hold a place for them in my heart! I love all dogs truly. I am open to cats if they are friendly 😅! I do work a 9am-4pm work shift and don’t get home usually until 4:45pm. I am open to drop ins and anything else that helps your travel time truly! I can do frequent walks as soon as I wake up, before I leave for work and any time after I am home from work. Weekends I am usually freed up with a lot of time so I don’t mind walks or anything needed for your pet☺️. I live in an apartment so frequent walks is something i’m completely okay with. I would say if you have pets that don’t work well with prolonged times not using the bathroom I wouldn’t be a great fit just do to my day to day work schedule. Weekends are completely free! I’m comfortable giving medicine on a schedule, long walks or baths or anything your pet may need so you can be worry free! I do have a son that has been around big and small dogs and i’m comfortable training or correcting if needed! Just know any dog or cat is in great hands with me☺️❤️!
“Jo is incredible, and I feel so lucky to have found her. She takes such thoughtful, loving care of Jake every single visit. She plays with him, gives him tons of affection, and always makes sure he gets outside time to explore. I love that she even updates me on the things he forages in the backyard — it shows how closely she pays attention to him. She keeps his water fresh, gives him his ice‑cube snacks, and sends the cutest photo updates. I feel at ease knowing he’s with her. Thank you, Jo!”

About: I grew up with cats and have raised two pups since they were around 10 weeks old. I’ve taken them to multiple levels of training classes and groom them at home. I treat my animals like they’re my children and would be happy to spread my love along to your furry friends! I work from home during the week, so I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to fit in pet care easily! I enjoy keeping busy, especially if it includes being around furry friends! I ensure pets receive adequate amount of food, playtime, attention and love each day. One of my pets was diagnosed with anxiety as a puppy, which has been a huge learning experience during walks and interactions with other dogs and people. I am a very patient person and would be happy to take care of pets regardless of their needs, personalities and behaviors. :)

“Samatha was fantastic!! Stayed way longer than she had to since my boy was enjoying outside. I will be booking again! She even came over quickly for our meet and greet because I was on a tight schedule. I knew my cats and I were a priority to her. Thank you so much for all the pictures too! I will be recommending you to everyone in my subdivision!”

“Kristina provides excellent care for my two dogs. She is very flexible and put this anxious dog mom at ease when I suddenly had a massive change in my work schedule. Easy and consistent communication that I appreciate. I'll continue to use her for my dog care needs. Thank you Kristina!”

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of dogs. I enjoy walking and playing with them! Personally, I grew up with a black lab and golden retriever! Looking forward to meeting your dog! I’m available on weekends and evenings! Currently completing clinical rotations at the UC hospital system, and I’d be happy to meet you and your pet to provide attentive, loving care. I love to take pets on walks and enjoy playing with them. I’m happy to meet you at your place or at a nearby park.
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely enjoy. Right now I have four cats, two dogs, and two rabbits, so I’m used to taking care of multiple pets with different needs and personalities. One of my dogs is very old and has become blind and deaf, which has taught me a lot about patience, paying attention to details, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable. Caring for him has given me experience working with animals that need a little extra support and attention. I also volunteered at a horse rescue and rehabilitation facility for a year, where I helped with feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls, and caring for horses. Working with horses taught me how to safely handle large animals, stay calm under pressure, and understand animal behavior. It gave me a lot of confidence and responsibility that I still use when caring for pets today. Besides my own animals, I’ve helped care for pets belonging to family, friends, and neighbors over the years. I’m comfortable with feeding schedules, walks, litter box cleaning, basic medications, playtime, and making sure pets get plenty of attention while their owners are away. I’m a 19-year-old college student currently on summer break and working part-time, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pets because I feel the same way about my own. My goal is always to make pets feel happy, comfortable, and loved while giving their owners peace of mind. ❤️ As a college student on summer break, I have a flexible schedule and plenty of availability outside of my part-time job. This allows me to dedicate time and attention to each pet’s needs, whether that means drop-in visits, walks, feeding, playtime, or simply providing companionship. I’m reliable, organized, and committed to making sure pets receive consistent, quality care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible to help their pets feel comfortable and secure. I provide fresh food and water, clean up after pets, ensure they get plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention, and carefully follow any special instructions. I also treat each home with respect and keep pet owners updated so they can have peace of mind while they’re away.

Best cat sitter! So trust worthy and she sent plenty of pictures! She did my exact instructions and was on time everyday. I felt very calm leaving g her with my kitties. Also, both my cats warmed up to her very well and they are normally little scaredy cats. Would highly recommend using Sarah and will use her again on my next trip! Thanks Sarah <3

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Shelby. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
