“Lindsay was wonderful and we were so lucky to have booked our dog with her. Chloe developed a UTI that Lindsay was able to recognize based on her symptoms. She monitored her throughout the night and took her to our vet as soon they opened in the morning. We were so thankful that she was so knowledgeable, observant, and caring. She allowed us to have peace of mind during our vacation. We will definitely choose Lindsay to have Chloe stay again.”

“Katrina is excellent pet sitter. I was able to do a meet and greet before the sitting. She had good communication and flexibility to make that meeting happen. She was very patient and helpful with me and all the booking, since I am new to the system. During the sitting Katrina was very good updating us with the right amount of comments and pictures about how our dog was doing. Our dog came home relaxed and happy, clearly Katrina took well care of him. Katrina's own down is similar in size and breed to our dog, so the possibility to a playmate during the sitting was a nice surprise. We recommend Katrina 100% and we will have her in our roster for future pet sitting needs.”

About: I grew up with cats and have raised two pups since they were around 10 weeks old. I’ve taken them to multiple levels of training classes and groom them at home. I treat my animals like they’re my children and would be happy to spread my love along to your furry friends! I work from home during the week, so I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to fit in pet care easily! I enjoy keeping busy, especially if it includes being around furry friends! I ensure pets receive adequate amount of food, playtime, attention and love each day. One of my pets was diagnosed with anxiety as a puppy, which has been a huge learning experience during walks and interactions with other dogs and people. I am a very patient person and would be happy to take care of pets regardless of their needs, personalities and behaviors. :)
“Judith was great and very accommodating for a last minute request. Judith sent photos and videos of Scooby enjoying himself and making himself at home. Scooby slept for 10 straight hours after returning home, he had a lot of fun with the other dogs and kids in the home! Scooby made some new friends and would definitely bring Scooby back!”

“My two dogs spent a week with Christina. I received lots of pictures and updates about how they were doing. I’m glad the weather was mostly good so they could go out in her beautiful yard. Thanks to Christina for keeping the boys.”
About: Hi! I’m 30 years old and I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I grew up in a house full of dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities—my mom always had rescues and mixed breeds, so I’m very comfortable with different temperaments and energy levels. Today, I have my own adopted 16 lb mixed-breed dog, and caring for him has only deepened my love and experience with dogs. I’m confident handling puppies and energetic dogs, and I truly enjoy walks, playtime, and giving them attention and care. For safety reasons, I prefer not to work with dogs that are overly aggressive or difficult to manage. My experience is focused entirely on dogs, so I’m not the best fit for cats or other types of pets. I’m available to foster small dogs in my apartment. I work from home and I’m able to walk him/her 3/4 times a day. I’m also available for drop-in visits between 6 AM–8 AM and anytime after 5 PM. I live in an apartment with a fenced area, which is great for safe outdoor time. I’m also happy to take your dog on walks outside around the neighborhood. I can feed, play with, and walk your dog, making sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away.

About: I grew up around animals my whole life. My friend had a farm growing up, and I loved to help out. I have always lived with dogs, bunnies, geckos, frogs, cats, you name it! I love pets and would treat yours no less then if they were my own:) Pets are family too! I am absolutely an animal lover and would love to take care of yours like they are my own. Since Bailey our dog, the last of our animals passed away two years ago I have been missing a furry friend in my life. At the moment I am training for the police academy and work part time at a gym that is close to my house. With that being said I have lots of free time; My weeks are completely open so I am happy to help anytime of the day or evening. I know animals need lots of love, attention, and exercise. I love to take walks and always enjoy a furry companion. Fresh water is important, enough potty breaks and definitely make sure they have a full belly! I'II make sure your fur baby is having too much fun to notice you're gone :) Also, I apologize if it says I have a low response time! When I first used the app a few years ago I did not click “away” when I stopped using the app, instead I just deleted it. I promise I will answer ASAP! At the moment I am training for the police academy and work part time at a gym that is close to my house. I work at the gym Monday and Tuesday from 5pm until 11pm and have Volleyball on Friday from 6pm until 11pm. With that being said I have lots of free time; My weeks are completely open so I am happy to help anytime of the day or evening. I live in a house that is on a dead end of a neighborhood which is very peaceful. There is a trail that is directly behind my house for easy walk access. My yard is unfenced but I will make sure to leash and supervise your pup if they are staying at my home! If your dog needs to be crated I ask that you please bring one as I do not have a crate of my own. There is no other animals in my home to worry about, I am willing to accommodate to any needs your pet may need.

About: I have cared for my grand dogs and friends’ dogs for years. Our whole family will shower your dog with love and attention! We love to send pictures of the dogs having fun or napping on the couch! I am a stay at home, home-schooling mom who has lots of time in our home to care for your dog. We are home most of the time available to give your dog all the attention they need. I have a fenced in yard. My kids love to make friends with dogs that we have watched. We have a large dog crate available if your dog is crate trained. We take their care very seriously and follow owners requests and directions.
“Steven was great as always. He moved something around on his personal schedule to accomodate my late flight so that I could pick up my dogs that night rather than having to pick up the next day. Would recommend.”

“Great sitters and my doggie and he looked to be having a marvelous time! Lots of communication from them, the entire time…which I loved. ❤️ I will absolutely book with them again.”

“We were so grateful that Tammy was able to watch our two large pups (a golden mix and a German Shepherd) last minute over the weekend. From the moment we met her (and her two sweet daughters), we could tell our doggies were in loving hands. They treated them like family, and even when our Shepherd had an accident on her floor a literal five seconds after we walked in, Tammy handled it with total grace and kindness. We can’t thank her enough for being so patient, caring, and flexible. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and genuinely loving pet sitter! 🐾”
“Linda was amazing to our dog Murphy. He was excited to play with her dog and her children. Loved getting the pictures to see what he was up to. He came home happy and exhausted. We will definitely be booking with her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Shelby
Laura took wonderful care of our dog, Koda, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. She is kind, loving, and truly cares about the animals she watches. Her communication was excellent—she kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that Koda was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We highly recommend Laura to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter, and we will definitely book with her again!

Kathryn did an amazing job watching my dog! She was a great communicator throughout the entire process and was very attentive to the needs of my pet. I will definitely be going with her for dog sitting in the future and would strongly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter.

Kaitlin was so great with Ollie. She sent me plenty of great pictures during his stay and many of them looked as though Ollie had a huge smile on his face. When my business trip was extended she was not able to watch him during that extended time but helped me out a great deal by packing his items and bringing him to another place to stay. I will surely have her watch Ollie again when needed. Thank you again Kaitlin, you are awesome!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
