“Nathan and his family are excellent dog sitters. Duke had a great time. He was sending pictures so I can see how Duke was managing being away from home. I truly appreciate the great care they gave my dog. I’ll definitely use them again.”

“Kareema is a very warm and welcoming young lady who was able to take my kitties on fairly short notice. She gave me updates and pictures of my happy kitties which helped my anxiety of having to leave them in someone else's care. My cats were happy and very well attended to under her care. When the time comes that I ever need to have my pets taken care of again, Kareema is my 1st choice. Thank you so much Kareema, Mr. Pickles, Chi-chi Michi, and we appreciate you 😊”

“Katrina is excellent pet sitter. I was able to do a meet and greet before the sitting. She had good communication and flexibility to make that meeting happen. She was very patient and helpful with me and all the booking, since I am new to the system. During the sitting Katrina was very good updating us with the right amount of comments and pictures about how our dog was doing. Our dog came home relaxed and happy, clearly Katrina took well care of him. Katrina's own down is similar in size and breed to our dog, so the possibility to a playmate during the sitting was a nice surprise. We recommend Katrina 100% and we will have her in our roster for future pet sitting needs.”

“Steven was great, very responsive and sent daily updates. I was happy to see my dog getting along with all the other dogs with no issues. My plane was delayed and Steven was very understanding. My dog had a great time, because she was whining when she got in the car. I will most definitely use him again. Thanks Steven”

“Ora is a good sitter. She sent frequent pictures of Loki and updates about him everyday. I will definitely consider her again for next time if she is available. Thank you Ora!”

About: I have been rescuing dogs for almost 2 decades. Needless to say, I love dogs. I currently have a great Pyrenees and she would love Company. I work 100% remote from home., my yard has a 6 foot privacy fence am I Home is very dog friendly. I am also experienced in taking care of diabetic dogs, including testing and injections twice a day, monitoring food and making sure that all the dogs under my hair get daily walks, and lots of love. I work 100% remote. My day doesn’t start until nine, which allows me to spend time in the morning either playing with the dogs going for walks. I live in a very dog friendly neighborhood around those days that the weather doesn’t permit us to go out I have what we call beauty time.. I walk my dog every evening for at least 30 minutes and if the day is nice, we try to get some time in during lunch as well My house and backyard are very pet friendly. I am not someone who gets upset if there’s an accident after all they’re pets, stuff’s gonna happen. I have a 6 foot privacy fence in my backyard. My dog prefers to sleep outside, but for the dogs that I’m sitting I prefer they be inside with me.
“Mou and Yanling were amazing with my dog dobby. I received daily videos of them playing and cuddling together. Watching them say goodbye to him when I picked him up was the sweetest thing. You could tell they really loved him. 10/10 would book again!”

“Amazing sitter, came through during a super stressful time for me moving 200 miles, and I wanted to spare my dog 2 days of moving trucks and boxes. Tracey was great, will book again.”

“Best experienced ever. Nia was great. So was Phillip. Great folks. They took good care of Lilly. They were very engaged and sent us pics as well as video. There was plenty of room in the yard for our dog to play. I highly recommend them. We will call on them again soon.”

“Thank you Angela! She took wonderful care of our dog, Budd. Helped manage his anxiety during thunderstorms, kept us up to date on how he was adjusting, and send sweet photos!”

“Janelle was wonderful. She took great care of our dog and kept us posted on how things were going. Would recommend her for anyone looking for an awesome and thoughtful sitter!”

“Juahn was so good to my Teddy and took pictures and sent me updates over the phone. He assured me there was nothing to be concerned about and I felt calm knowing Teddy was well cared for.”

“Tanya watched my two pups while I was up north for the 4th of July weekend and she was so wonderful! She gave daily updates and pictures which I really loved! She also did so great with comforting my dogs during fireworks! I highly recommend Tanya if you’re in need of a dog sitter! 😊”

“Roxy did a wonderful job with Bella. She and her family helped reinforce what Bella had learned at school. It was like Bella was away at a doggy resort with much love, fun and support!”

“Carolina was absolutely fantastic! Hazel loved her time there. She was happy and tired (in a great way) when we picked her up. Carolina had excellent communication and took Hazel for a nice walk in the neighborhood, her favorite thing to do. Am definitely using Carolina again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
